INSTANT MBA: Leaders Need To Embrace The Bad Decisions That They Make
Regardless of how many or how little decisions are made by leaders, there are always some bad ones. Leaders should really get close to their wrong decisions and the negative outcomes it has on them and/or their company. They should try to fully understand what was done wrong and feel the full effects of their mistakes so that they appreciate the cause and effect. By doing this, they will be able to make better decisions in the future.

INSTANT MBA: Leaders Need To Embrace The Bad Decisions That They Make
I agree with what the article says. There are many times when one has to make decisions, and one cannot always be right. For the wrong decisions made one must face its consequences and analyze about what went wring with the decision they made. However, one should not be stuck with the sorry feeling forever. The wrong steps taken in life or in their career should be taken as a lesson to better themselves and their decision making skills.

INSTANT MBA: Leaders Need To Embrace The Bad Decisions That They Make
Leaders need to embrace bad decisions and learn from those decisions. We are all going to make mistakes and fail in life but it is home we deal with those mistakes or failures that make us the people and leaders we are. As long as you learn something from the mistake you made that is what counts. If you continue to just do the same thing over and over again and never learn from then the mistakes then you're most likely going to fail the majority of the time.

INSTANT MBA: Leaders Need To Embrace The Bad Decisions That They Make
This is somewhat counter-productive to the articles we have read about removing emotion. The article suggest to, “Actually feel the consequences, grab onto the pain of bad outcomes,” and to, “get deep inside the regret and humiliation.” Not sure that is removing the emotion from business decisions. Certainly we should analyze decisions that have not worked out and have failed. The facts should be studied and a determination should be made as to how the decision could have been better. This is an absolute learning experience and must be treated as such. If apologies are necessary to a person, express the regret and promise you will do better... then move on.

INSTANT MBA: Leaders Need To Embrace The Bad Decisions That They Make
Everyone (CEOs and regular people) need to embrace the bad decisions that they make and learn from them. If this is not done, then you are bound to make that same mistake again. Think about that mistake, get upset about it, think about what you could have done differently, and then let it go. If this is done, then next time you make a decision, you will think about the consequences of that decision and do it differently.

Every decision has a consequence. So be sure you’re wise when you do choose. If you choose the wrong decision it will not only affect you, but others also. So be caution when making decisions.

This article hit some really strong points. To me, the article is saying that no matter what you're doing and whether you're on cloud nine or having to file for bankruptcy, it is important that you take the steps carefully and for the right reasons. No one likes the feeling of regret, and if you go throughout your every day life doing things that are for the right reasons in your mind, a business owner will never have to feel that way.

INSTANT MBA: Leaders Need To Embrace The Bad Decisions That They Make
I agree with the article entirely. I have heard investors say that they won't invest in a company if the leader has not tasted failure before, simply because they do not know why they need to put everything they have into success. I also believe this applies to personal life as well, people learn from their mistakes and it makes them stronger or they move on to something else and realize that whatever they had attempted wasn't for them.

Decisions have to be made and at the time we have the best intentions. You can't erase your past mishaps, all you can do is embrace what you cannot change. Being a leader and swallowing your pride can be a tough pill to swallow knowing in your heart you thought you made the best decision. Decisions are unavoidable and we make them daily. I've made my share of bad choices but, they were lessons learned. Everyday I'm learning and growing.

Leaders Need To Embrace The Bad Decisions That They Make
This is something I could not agree with more! A great example would be when a leader openly says their mistakes through word of mouth because it holds them accountable to where they will be sure to never make that mistake again.

INSTANT MBA: Leaders Need To Embrace The Bad Decisions That They Make
Leaders have to understand that just like other employees make mistakes, they make mistakes as well. Leaders must be able to appreciate the feedback they get from others because it can help them and make them become more effective leaders. In the end you appear more dedicated to the people you are leading by listening to them, and also you grow as a person and as a leader.

INSTANT MBA: Leaders Need To Embrace The Bad Decisions That They Make
People dont let to realize when they have messed up or just dont realize when they have. Sometimes you have to embrace your bad decisions and notice when your decisions just suck. People dont take the time out to analyze there bad decisions and try to work on them as fast as possible. Bosses analyze certain decisions and notice when something isnt right rather its told by someone else or just them realizing that they messed up.

INSTANT MBA: Leaders Need to Embrace The Bad Decisions That They Make
Leaders must realize that with every decision there is a consequence. The consequence can either be negative or positive, which then classifies whether the decision was a good or bad decision. Sometimes leaders like to take the consequences and push them on others instead of realizing that they were the ones who did wrong. Leaders can very easily push the responsibilities on others, but a true leader takes responsibilities for their decisions. If the consequence is negative then they re-evaluate the opportunity and try and fix whatever the problem is.

This link says to dwell in regret and feel the price of your bad decision. I don’t agree with this. I think you should spend the least amount of time as possible in regret and move on to what’s next. Everybody makes mistakes, we should realize this and move on.
