INSTANT MBA: Even In A Collaborative Atmosphere, Acknowledge Individual People
This article puts emphasis on managers acknowledging great contributions by employees and I feel that this is very important. Human nature is typically based around reward based contributions. When we put great effort into something, we would like to know that it did not go unnoticed. It is not a narcissistic attribute that we all have; it is a way of letting us know our successes are appreciated and encouraged.

INSTANT MBA: Even In A Collaborative Atmosphere, Acknowledge Individual People
Teamwork is essential in collaborative efforts, but individual people make a good team. Without the individuals who push themselves to greater things, projects do not make completion. To keep these individual pieces in the team happy and working at peak efficiency, team leaders and managers need to praise these parts for extraordinary work, or work outside of the scope, to get the project done. Within state government, there isn’t much collaboration, but when it is needed, team leaders do not tend to acknowledge individual pieces. This causes fracturing of the team, and the lack of efficiency and enthusiasm.

Individual commendations is hugely important. No one likes to feel like a small cog in a big machine. When you as a manager recognize someone for their individual success, you make them feel valued both as part of that team, and as a person. their contribution is not going unnoticed. That is a huge benefit to company morale and culture, and will express itself in a more efficient workplace.

INSTANT MBA: Even In A Collaborative Atmosphere, Acknowledge Individual People
People no matter a what level want to be acknowledged for their hard work . You can either privately or in front of the team, just make sure that you do it. Having different opinions and suggestions is the best data to collect. Bosses that always just talk will cause employees to not respect and ignore them. Keeping an open communication policy with the employee's, will keep the respect you deserve. This is a simple life lesson to learn.

INSTANT MBA: Even In A Collaborative Atmosphere, Acknowledge Individual People
I'm not really sure if I agree or disagree with this article. Yes acknowledging someone for their hard work and dedication is always needed to keep them motivated to do better but singling out certain people in a group and praising them I don't agree with! If it was a group effort then acknowledge the group for their hard work.

I agree with this article because individual recognition whether positive or negative has a huge impact on a person and on the quality of work he/she is doing for the company. When you make a point to recognize someone on the good that he/she is doing for the company, you motivate them to want to continue their work. You’re not only thanking them for keeping up the good work or going the extra mile but you are also encouraging them. The same goes for the opposite. If you’re recognizing someone not putting in all the effort that they should be putting in, recognizing them or having a conversation with them (in private, not in front of others because you do not want to embarrass them) will have them know that you’re noticing their effort and behavior and they can realize that they have potential to do better.

I believe that it is important to give people their "props" for a great job. The problem comes in when you acknowledge some people but do not acknowledge others. If you leave someone out they will feel as if you did not recognize what they did. This could cause animosity among workers. If you are going to recognized people you should have some formal way of doing it. IT is very hard to acknowledge people who may have done one small thing the company verses someone who did something big. i guess it is up to you o how you want to handle it.

INSTANT MBA: Even In A Collaborative Atmosphere, Acknowledge Individual People
I think it's great that the leaders point out each employees good work to the project. It's a great way to acknowledge each individual and not have to single any one person out. Acknowledgement can build moral and self confidence in an individual. It gives the employees confidence and the want to keep doing a great job.

INSTANT MBA: Even In A Collaborative Atmosphere, Acknowledge Individual People
Every person likes to be acknowledged when they do something exceptional. Whether it be creating an idea, going the extra mile to organize the office to landing an important account. Companies like group efforts because they get diverse opinions and ideas. If a person is not acknowledged, after a amount of time, they are going to feel unappreciated. This means their work quality is going to suffer. Making sure you point out each persons attributes can help this problem and remind the group why each person is important.

I think a lot of companies can learn from the topic in this article. It is extremely important to recognize the efforts of everyone involved in any team working activity, but I also think it is equally important to recognize individual work as well. Like it says in the article if individuals keep being over looked they may eventually begin to care less and become more unproductive. Overall, it is important to pay attention to your employees and make sure they are recognized and rewarded for the work they are putting into your company.

Instant MBA:Even In A Collaborative Atmosphere, Acknowledged Individual People
I agree with this link because in a big group sometimes people can get over looked. That would hurt the company in the long-run.If an employee feels over looked they will soon reduce productivity. This can also cause employees to quit because other companies can easily persuade them to join. That could hurt a company for it to lose one of its important employees. Also a manager would also has to recognize employees as a team so they won't think that it was only them who does the important things in the ororganization.

This article pretty much covers team building. I think in any type of work atmosphere when individuals are stepping up within groups and providing positive influence in a project they should be recognized. Doing so can give that individual a confidence boost and it also gives them recognition among the team so they know what that person brings to the table. Not only does that person receive acknowledgement, but now everyone else in the group knows what to do or how to be commended for their efforts. Anyone who was not recognized can be inspired to work harder now to get a chance to shine.

INSTANT MBA: Even In A Collaborative Atmosphere, Acknowledge Individual People
I believe that this article points out an important concept. In companies, especially bigger companies, it is often easy for individuals to get lost within the crowd. However, it is important for this to not happen. When an individual gives an idea to the company and the idea turns out to be successful, they should be recognized. If the individual is not recognized then they will be less likely to voice their next idea and the company will miss out on all of the brilliant ideas their employees have. Everyone loves to be recognized for their hard work. If companies put more effort in recognizing these efforts then their business just may grow and be a stronger culture and more innovative.

INSTANT MBA: Even In A Collaborative Atmosphere, Acknowledge Individual People
Positive re encouragement can go a long way in the growth of a company and that company's morale. Often times good deeds go unnoticed and employees feel that their extra effort was meaningless. Even so much as a congratulations or a pat on the back just to let that person know they succeeded can go a long way.

Woking in groups for a project in a company can be difficult yet rewarding. David Leib likes to point out or reward that individual for standing out or contributing more than his/her co-workers. This is a good morale boost for the team as a whole and that individual to shine. This also makes others work harder next time in order to reap the rewards of being recognized throughout the company.
