INSTANT MBA: Frugality Is Important Because It Forces You To Be Creative
I can see where this article could be on to something. When you aren't frugal you could be compulsive and do things that aren't really needed. Just this past weekend, two of my friends and I were decorating were my daughter's perty. She turned five =) but, the point is that while decorating, we found multiple ways of doing things that were cheaper and much more creative than if we had just ran with the inital idea presented to us. And the outcome was amazing, so I can definitely agree with this article.

People are people. Everyone screws up sometimes. That's why we have redundancy and multiple people working on important projects. When one person screws up badly enough, it's everyone's problem, but it shouldn't lead to an automatic termination or an explosion by management. The learning curve builds good people over time, and management should recognize that instead of letting someone go (and losing their investment) over one mistake.

INSTANT MBA: This Could Be 'The Most Powerful Leadership Tool You Possess'
This article just blew my mind in respect to the treatment of employees that have made mistakes whether major or minor. I really like the approach that Jeff Haden takes. I think that the way you treat employees in a time of struggle is really shows what kind of manager you are. By treating the employee with respect and dignity, you can help them grow and prevent these mistakes from happening again.

INSTANT MBA: This Could Be 'The Most Powerful Leadership Tool You Possess'
The article states that forgiveness is the best quality a leader can possess. Employees are people and people always makes mistakes. The worst thing you can do is become an angry leader. "Dwelling on that mistake, you might overlook the employee's skills and not utilize them in the best way. So next time your employee messes up, try putting things in perspective." This is so correct in business are in any situation in life

I feel great to have a good communication and great expectations to be made to the employees. You must always be able to look at the whole situation instead of just picking out one. Doing that it shows that you really show leadership and the skills to compromise the situation.

If the mistake is relatively minor then you can forgive and hope that the employee improves because of it. When you allow mistakes occasionally, you can create a safe environment that nurtures growth and ideas.

We are all human and everyone makes mistakes. Just as we have made mistakes and wanted forgiveness, we should not dwell on the mistakes our employees make. As long as they are not making the same mistakes over and over again we should try to forgive them and move on. Dwelling on the mistakes will only make things uncomfortable and if it is a good employee they may leave and find and you could loose out on someone who you have put a lot of time and money into training.

INSTANT MBA: This Could Be 'The Most Powerful Leadership Tool You Possess'
This is a great article. You must remember that everyone makes mistakes. We are all human beings. Leaders will make mistakes as long as employees. You have to learn to treat those mistakes in a humane way to let the employees actually learn from there mistakes. If they keep making mistakes then maybe they should be moved to another area in which they are great at.

A company can be made up of numerous employees. It is important to treat them well. If your employees are not being treated well, their attitudes will show it and your customers will soon notice as well. Making sure employees are happy will strengthen the internal controls within the business because it will lighten the chance of rationalization to commit fraud. If an employee has the opportunity to steal $20 out of the cash register and they do not like the company, they have a better chance of rationalizing this situation. Although, yes under all circumstances this is wrong. But certain individuals will think, "the company has too much money and they treat me bad so I can do what I want". This is rationalization. Treat your employees well and they will work hard for you. If one makes a mistake, know that it can effect the company as a whole but no one is perfect. Do not dwell on this mistake and make the employee feel as if they are messing everything up.

Employees are important to the business because they help achieve the goals that the business is working towards. Not all employees are going to be able to do their job without some sort of mishap. It is important to address the situation, but not do so in a negative manner. Without employees the business would be stuck between a rock and a hard place. Everyone makes mistakes and should be forgiven for them. Particular mistakes may have happened because of lack of training or poor communication. If the problem is recurring then action should be taken.

INSTANT MBA: This Could Be 'The Most Powerful Leadership Tool You Possess'
I believe focusing on employees' mistakes only makes them perform worse. If you only speak to a worker when they do something wrong, they will only know the negatives. They will not think you notice when they do something good. This will probably make them less motivated to work for you and therefore less work would be getting done. One mistake by an employee shouldn't make a manager want to fire them unless the problem is consistent. Overlooking an employee's skills may be costly to a company. If you overlook their skills you may miss an opportunity to hire internally. Going out and hiring a new employee can be more costly to a company than hiring from within.

INSTANT MBA: This Could Be 'The Most Powerful Leadership Tool You Possess'
This article is very true and can relate to today's business world. Forgiveness is easier said than done when an empolyee makes a big mistake. I do understand why you should forgive the employee and that's because your business would not be succesfull everyday without them. This was a good article and is something that managers need to be reminded of.

While I do believe that forgiveness is without a doubt a powerful tool for a leader to possess, I also think there should be a limit as to how much you can forgive. If an employee is constantly wrecking things or depending on the severity of the situation then the employer should be prompted to make a decision then. However, I do agree when it comes to forgiving them and looking at what they can provide as a whole. So instead of punishing them for the mistakes they should be put into a position where they can perform to the best of their abilities.

INSTANT MBA: This Could Be 'The Most Powerful Leadership Tool You Possess' Of course employee are human and no human is perfect. So if a employee make mistake forgive them and move on is the best way forward. I believe that managers also need to inform employee about their mistake and employee need to learn from mistake and not doing same mistake again is the best way to show growth and maturity.
