INSTANT MBA: 'If You Are Bigger Than Your Job, Your Job Will Get Bigger'
Motivting employees to work to create new ways in helping the company grow can be difficult. Raines says his company does this by creating a dynamic work environment that always encourages employees to do new things and embrace new strategies. If employees are always doing new things and evolving with a company, the belief is that they might do more than asked or expecting in the long run. This belief, if seen into reality, helps the company and the individual. I believe that a company and its leadership are not the only thing which makes company successful. The effort and imigination of every employee helps just as much.

Paul Raines says, "If you are bigger than your job, your job will get bigger." As you become bigger, your job will get bigger. I can agree with the gamestop CEO.

INSTANT MBA: 'If You Are Bigger Than Your Job, Your Job Will Get Bigger'
Growth is inevitable. Personal growth facilitates job growth. Job growth facilitates personal growth. These two will go hand in hand. As employees grow within their positions, the job grows as well. They are bringing more knowledge to the table which benefits both employer and employee. If employers recognize this trend they can take advantage of the situation and facilitate more growth within the employee. If there is a working relationship between employer and employee then they both can benefit long term from mutual growth. This will only work as a beneficial relationship if there is trust and respect between the two parties.

INSTANT MBA: 'If You Are Bigger Than Your Job, Your Job Will Get Bigger
I really like this article. In today's dynamic environment, businesses are looking for ways to innovate and offer something new to its customers.. In this regard, it is very important to have a competitive workforce in order to be able to cope up with the changing time and resources. It can only do so if it has a team of highly motivated and hardworking employees. Businesses need to challenge their employees to raise their bars and to see what they are capable of attaining.

Instant MBA: If You Are Bigger Than Your Job, Your Job Will Get Bigger
This article says that your job is bigger than you and if you do not notice it then it will take over you and you will not be able to control it. If one can not control their business then they are not evolving with the changes that the business is going through. In order for a business to be successful you have to give your employees opportunities that will help them grow with the company instead of letting the company overgrow them. One can take from this article for the future to always be on top of your activities and do not let them over run you, also to organize and grow with the business.

If You Are Bigger Than Your Job, Your Job Will Get Bigger
I feel a great example of this would be MaryKay. MaryKay is a makeup company that started for the reasons listed in this article; to grow. Mary Kay was a woman who worked for Avon, but wanted more. She wanted to climb the ladder for more opportunity as more products became available. They did not let her rise sadly so she started her own makeup company. MaryKay is a great company to work for to become bigger than your job. The only thing stopping you from getting there, is you. You control everything and how far you want to go. To be able to hold the power is a great feeling. As more products become available, the more independent contractors are available to have opportunity to rise and not only make a difference for the company, but also make a difference in their lives.

As a company grows by introducing more products or services, the building, employees, managers, manufacturing, etc. must grow with it and at the same pace to accommodate all the company's needs. While growing, new opportunities open and employees are given chances to grow within the company. Those showing dedication and potential can become managers or supervisors and take on new responsibilities, just building on what they already know from already being a part of the company.

Instant MBA: If You Are Bigger Than Your Job, Your Job Will Get Bigger
I think the article is very accurate with the working world. If an employee wants to grow within a company they need to continue to be creative. They need to continue to think of new ways to get things done more efficiently and effectively. Also, the employer needs to take part in this. They need to make the working environment one that an employee likes to work in. They also need to motivate their employees by having incentives for getting things done. If the company wants to grow and be even more successful than they already are they need to keep their employees and environment a positive one.

Instant MBA: If You Are Bigger Than Your Job, Your Job Will Get Bigger It is said that when working in a environment where new job task are assign employee become more evolve with the company and feel excited and passionate about there job but what about the other half if employees who can't deal with rapid changes in companies, how do they deal with employee who can't adapt. Do you just fire them and take the loses over and over to all who can't adapt? I think that would add up to a larger amount over time. I think they should place a selected group of employees who are good at what they do and leave everyone else to pacific task to even the playing feild out a little bit.

Giving your employees a chance to grow and have more responsibiltiies with the company as the business grows will give them more of a sense of belonging and pride, and that in the long run, will develop more loyalty for the business from the inside workers. Also giving the employees incentives to work will help the business in the long run, because if your employees want to grow and move forward in the business, the company will do just that as well.

Instant MBA: If You Are Bigger Than Your Job, Your Job Will Get Bigger
I agree, people that try to go above and beyond at their job are the ones that usually move up or create new positions. They are the people that do jobs that would take two or three others to do. There are people like this in most work environments and usually they stay with the company for a long time if they are recognized for their hard work and dedication. These are the people that never say "but it's not my job" and never question their supervisor when asked to do something out of the ordinary, and often times they do things without having to be asked.

Link #30 Instant MBA If you are bigger than your job your job will get bigger.
This is a basic concept and it makes a lot of sense. As a company becomes larger
and the responsibilities for that company expand, so will the responsibilities of
the employees. When more work has to be done, filter those duties down to the
employees. If you are someone who has mastered all duties of your current job then
you can say you are bigger than it. Then by the statement your job will get bigger,
to me that means you will get a promotion or something like that. Never be satisfied
with where you are. Always be wanting to move up in the company.

INSTANT MBA: 'If You Are Bigger Than Your Job, Your Job Will Get Bigger'
Mr. Paul Raines is the CEO of GameStop. He advises that by creating a dynamic work environment where products are regularly innovated, the business structure will continually improve, and allow for greater opportunities for the leaders that prove themselves ready. Because this form of business organization promotes rapidly, it encourages every team member to succeed and grow within the organization. I think it's great that the video game store business model allows for that amount of innovation and promotion from within. By making advancement feasible and attractive it encourages everyone to achieve their personal bests consistently.
