This video talks about how meetings can be costly for a business. I think that by making the meetings as interesting and short as possible is the best approach. A lot of times people are dying to get out of meetings, because for one they feel like they are a waste of time, and for two, they're flat out boring. Making it interesting or giving them some incentive to go is something that can make things better.

Work Smart: Unconventional Cures For Meeting-it is
I think that most people believe that meetings are boring and they most likely don't want to be there. So when conducting a meeting, the only people that should be there is the person or people that are involved in the project that you are working on. Most people zone out in meetings and are not paying attention anyway so why have them there if they don't need to be there.

This video discusses the importance planning a proper meeting. It is importance to make meetings as relevant as possible in order to assure that everyone's attention is focused on the task. The key to this successful meeting is to have a great leader who can command the attention of everyone. I agree with this video.

Work Smart: Unconventional Cures for Meetings
It is true that most people do not like to attend company meetings, but every company has meetings. If a company is going to have a meeting it should just long enough to get your point across. If the meeting is long, people will become bored and lose their focus.

Knowing how to run a meeting is key to your business in this video. The meeting do not need to be long because you is wasting people time of being productive at their workplace. It need to be short and sweet. I like the idea it a meeting room with not chairs. people are so lazy these days to where they will come to a finish sooner than later. Overall good video.

TITLE - Work Smart: Unconventional Cures For Meeting-it is
I do believe that meetings are important for a company to run smoothly and efficiently however, sometimes they are just a pain and end up doing more harm than good. Sometimes when we get called in a meeting at work I get frustrated and feel like it is taking too much time out of my work and is pointless. Sometimes an email will do perfectly. However, sometimes you just need to have meetings. So, for those times it is important to follow some of the suggestions in the video. I think that making sure that meetings are short and to the point are key for the meeting to be successful. You need to make sure that everyone leaves with the information that you want them to have and not just nonsense.

Work Smart: Unconventional Cures For Meeting-itis
I like this video. The techniques discussed in this video are interesting. At my current job, we have meetings sometimes two or three times a day. We have now implemented rules where we can only have meetings at certain times of the day. This has really helped in eliminating unnecessary meetings such as those at 8am in the morning when everyone is running around trying to get their first cup of coffee.

This video game the vewier a good way to avoid meeting-itis. Often times meetings are ways too long, too often, and have too many people. A few companies have implemented ideas like no chairs in the office room and large timers hanging in the room as ways to shorten meetings. It is important to shorten these meetings because they are very costly.

Work Smart: Unconventional Cures For Meeting-itis
I work for a company that has meetings twice a week that last about 15 min before they start their days. I do not attend the meetings, so i dont know whether it is or is not productive. I do however like that understanding that one's time is valued and appreciated so meeting don't have to be too long. It is important for leaders to not beat around the bush and get to the point by knowing what needs to be said before hand to not waste time.

Work Smart: Unconventional Cures For Meeting-itis
This video would be great for managers to watch or people in leadership positions. It gives ideas some great ideas on how to keep the meeting focused and get the point across. It says to keep meetings short, not to have them too often, and only meet with people who actually need to be there. If you have 10 people in a one hour meeting that doesn't need to be there, you lose one day of productivity. The most important tip for meetings is to have it run by a strong leader.

I don't like this video. I understand the concept in saving time and having a productive meeting but I feel like this video is common sense. Meetings are what they are you can't avoid we have to have meetings. Just make the meeting productive.

Work Smart: Unconventional Cures For Meeting-itis
One of worst time wasters at my office involves unnecessary meetings. Some division wide meetings tend to last an hour or longer, and these are what my co-workers and I have dubbed the 'social hour' where it seems all people really do is sit around and talk about a bunch of random and personal things, don't stay on track, and waste time. I really like the unconventional ideas Trapani discusses in this video. If we were told to leave our phones at the door, stuck to a strict timer when reviewing agenda items, and not allowed to sit at the conference table, our meetings would, I feel, be brief and much more to the point. Maybe I will suggest some of these techniques during our next social hour.

Developing unconventional strategies to keep meetings short and productive is a challenge in itself. In order to avoid wasted time and distracted employees, this is key. I absolutely hate meetings because I get bored really easily. If it's something I'm already aware of or feel its a waste of time, I daze off into another world or star playing with my electronics.
