Brainstorming doesn't work because in group settings we tend to criticize each other. If we all pretend every idea is a good idea during a brainstorming session, people will feel more free to share ideas and then creativity will form.

Brainstorming in a group has been used for years but studies show that it does not work. This video seemed to maybe contradict itself though because it said not to criticize people in brainstorming meetings because then they will not want to share their ideas. But then its says if we do not criticize then we will stay in the superficial parts of our imaginations and we will not go deep. I guess the key is constructive criticism. It is important to know how to take it and how to give it.

Do not criticize ideas of others in brainstorming. According to this video brainstorming does not work. People will come up with fewer ideas while using brainstorming. Criticism is needed when it comes to ideas. Dig a little deeper and the real ideas will come out. I agree with this video I never liked brainstorming in groups I feel like it does not work.

Brainstorming, which requires those involved to not criticize ideas of others, does not work. The group who actively engages in constructive criticism actually gains more ideas and more detailed ideas. Choosing to brainstorm can be quite counter productive.

I 100% believe in brainstorming. Being a marketing major I feel that brainstorming is important in everything you do but especially when coming up with creative ideas. Also groups bounce ideas off of each other making this process even more effective.

I've never thought of the origin of brainstorming, but the pioneering of this technique is very interesting. I definitely comply agree with and love the fact the basis of brainstorming is to not criticize others. I don't think any good idea came from one sole person. Engaging in constructive criticism and group work creates original, great ideas that could not have been thought of if those concepts were not verbalized and built upon.

Brainstorming is a creativity technique. Creativity should not be criticized. All ideas should be good ideas and if criticized, the ideas will not shine anymore. Group brain storming is less productive than individual brain storming. Believing that everyone's idea is a great idea is not how the human brain works. Humans are driven by criticism. It allows us to dig deep and come up with amazing possibilities that most of us did not even think existed.

I am taking away from this video the importance of criticizing during brainstorming activities. When brainstorming, the normal routine is not to criticize anyone's ideas because all ideas are equally relevant and helpful. This video makes you think differently from the norm of brainstorming activities. This video introduces the idea of constructive criticism during brainstorming, this allows for more thoughtful ideas to be brought to the forefront. When criticism is brought into play people will become more aware of what they are saying do to the fact they will be criticized. When people know they will be criticized they will produce more intelligent thoughts and ideas than they would have during the non criticizing brainstorming activity.

This video goes against everything I have learned in my management classes. They stress the importance of brainstorming and stress the benefits of brainstorming. I do agree with the videos key points to successful brainstorming. I think it is important for criticism to play a role in the brainstorming process, but to do so in a way that does not directly attack the imagination. I really like the videos animation for a brainstorming discussion.

Brainstorming is a critically important stage in the process of developing new ideas or strategies for a company. It is important to offer constructive feedback to these ideas and not demoralize them by putting them down unnecessarily.

Brainstorming is very important when it comes to your job and even every day life. At first he states to not criticize. I feel that that is very important, all ideas are good ideas. If you worry about being criticized then you won't want to share your ideas. Everyone should be able to feel like they can share their ideas without being criticized.

Does brainstorming work? This video says no, but I disagree. I think brainstorming in the sense of thinking really hard about creating ideas and creating ideas can lead to great things. Creating ideas without judgment of good or bad is what I consider brainstorming. The more people you brainstorm with the more ideas and the more possibilities for those ideas to be really good. I would definitely encourage brainstorming even though this video says otherwise.

I think brainstorming can actually really help any situation. The people that will take and learn from constructive criticism does the best, and I think that is something that everyone should remember. Criticism can be hard and even hurtful, but if you want your business to grow, you have to grow as well.
