Top Three HR Mistakes Companies Make
I think that companies that don't have an orientation process are making a big hr mistake. employees like to know what they are going to be doing if they are hired by your company. They do not like to be thrown into a situation and have to decide what to do for themselves.

I agree with the video that ignoring your competitors is a huge mistake. If a company ignores their competition, it give the competition an advantage over them. I think that all employees should have access to the employee handbook. It is important that employees adhere to company policies and procedures. Also, the company should give their employees a copy of the code of ethics because people are faced with making ethical decisions everyday of their lives.

I think that listing the #1 HR mistake as not having an employee handbook was spot on. A handbook gives the employee a whole overview of the company, it's background, brand, goals met, future goals, and what is expected of them when they join the company. Managers should make the employee handbook the way of life in the business, not only relying on the employee to follow the handbook but follow it themselves and make it the norm for all employees to follow it. While employees work hard to be an asset to the company, it is important for managers to recognize their improvement and praise their performances, this will motivate the employee to work harder and improve productivity.

I feel that the video mentions some very important points that every company should make. It is so important for companies to offer competitive salaries and benefits compared to other companies. Being a soon to be graduate, I am always researching on what certain jobs and positions should offer as are many other students. If companies want to hire these students then they will have to be able to offer things other companies do not. Also, I have noticed many companies do not offer evaluations or reviews very often. This make it difficult to learn what you are doing right and what you are doing wrong. Companies should really be able to talk to their staff and be able to give constructive criticism.

There are 3 major mistakes that companies HR make. Number one ignoring the competition, often times companies need to offer more competitive wages. Employers need to stop withholding criticism or praise. And the biggest issue is that not enough companies have a employee handbook.

Top Three HR Mistakes Companies Make
The three HR mistakes are important and I am sure there are more than three that can be easily identified. Constructive criticism and acknowledgment of efforts are needed to satisfied employees. These two can be passed through colleagues and managers not just HR. Without knowing that our efforts are making a difference we don't know if there is a point to work hard.

Top Three HR Mistakes Companies Make
All three points made are needed for every work environment. I think it is especially, important for employee recognition. With employee recognition, i feel it provides reassurance to them and lets them know that they are valued. It mentions that with out that, employees usually leave. I could probably get another job that pays more, but i will stay with my company and be loyal because they let me know how valued i am. I would rather that or money any day. Something else that was important was the employee handbook. I completely agree that every business should have one so that employees not only know what is expected, but also what is offered.

I think this video pointed out some great facts. The top three hr mistakes affect the organization as a whole. Rule # 1 in business, you must know who your completion is and monitor their progress. Handbooks set the stage for the operation of your business. It should be clear and precise. As mentioned in prior post, I think when I'm unmotivated or under- recognized, my performance declines because it's like you bust your butt to do great and no one appreciate your hard work.

Many companies failed to attract and retain high skilled employees, some companies think they can always find new hires cheaply and fail to take care of those they have. First consequences, they spend lots of money to train new hires who will not stay in the company for long time. The second mistake, companies failed to bring up constructive criticism which is very important to company and to employees. he third mistake, companies failed to create employee handbook. Of course employees like to know how they are performing, rules, etc and handbook acts as a remainder.

I agree that these mistakes can cost a company time and money in lost human capital. Not providing new hires with an employee handbook, not offering organized employee training, and not offering positive or negative feedback through recognition, praise, or performance evaluations can make an employee feel they are not important at work and start to look for work elsewhere. It is important to guide and train new employees to encompass them into the culture of the organization. In doing this, new employees will find their place and identify their role much easier.
