Everyone wants to know how to better manage they're money. Like the video says, we learn personal finance from our parents because it isn't taught anywhere else. The domino effect is very true; the people who understand how to make, make, and keep money and plan for the future pass this knowledge on to their children, and therefore, future generations can keep benefiting from this knowledge. Budgeting, planning, and knowing where to put your money is a critical skill that will help you your whole life and has the potential to save your family generations of money problems and I think a class offered on personal finance would be one of those things that people are highly thankful for later in life. Good video just kind of long.

It is quite sad that personal finance is something that we all end up having to learn the hard way. Sometimes by the time we learn about it, it's too late. I think that taking Dr. Alford I learned a lot about personal finance and what decisions I need to make to make sure I am set up for the future. I think that using the knowledge I have learned in that class I have a decent knowledge as to what I need to do when I get my first real job. I also think a financial guide is always a good idea.

I completely agree with her. Learning about money, how to spend, save, budget, balance a check book, take out a loan, etc. would be SO useful. Why isn't this something that is mandatory to learn in school? It should be taught in high school. Every single thing that she said about her character, Jessica, is something that I'm afraid that I'm unfortunately going follow almost exactly. I'm terrified. But this is something that I'm aware of. I have a good credit score, but I am in a lot of debt already. Time to start looking for a job!

Personal finance is something everyone should think about. Because we all have bills and responsibilities in life but to make those responsibilities it takes managing our money and knowing where every penny is good. because the future is inevitable and know what turns life might takes and that why it good to know your finances and where you stand in terms of your finances.

This video was very fitting. Especially because of the way our economy is now. Having a personal budget is crucial. Also, understanding your money is crucial. So many people are worried about the finances of our country of their business, but the ones in your own bank account are what really matters. You never know when you can have an unexpected medical bill, or a loss of your job, so you should always keep something as a back up plan! I think this video is very information and straight to the point.

I loved this video! So many people do not know how to manage their money correctly because they have never really been taught how. To some people, it comes naturally but others struggle with it. I literally want to open an account for my brother and make him give me a portion of his paycheck to put in and save because he does not know how to save money. I will be the first to say that I'm not familiar with areas like taxes, credit, and buying a house. These things should be focused on more!

Personal budgeting is so important for everyone all over the world. Before this video, I never really thought about other college majors or even people who didn't go to college. We are lucky in the business department to learn a lot about money and the importance of investing, but other people are not so lucky. They may not realize what they could have done until it's too late. Maybe there should be a class as a freshmen or even maybe in high school based on personal finance.

OMG I have been pushing for a class like this in our school systems. It is so important and so overlooked. Along with the skills to understand credit and how it should be used. I also think that as adults or parents we should educate our kids. I am thrilled that she is shining light on this topic. BUDGET BUDGET BUDGET. I made a conscious effort to inform my kids of all the things that my parents did not tell me. It is because of that my son is 23 and has a 401k, IRA and proper insurances as well as savings and a comfortable lifestyle.

This video was great! Peoples' households and really their lives revolve around their personal finances. If these principles were taught early on and people knew how to deal with their finances properly, it could very well reduce stress and tension in relationships.

After viewing this video, I think it would be great for college freshmen's to take a personal finance course. As stated in this video, students are taking out student loans and being offered credit cards while in college. A course would be beneficial in giving them a jumpstart on what to do to prevent them from being in debt at an early age. This is definitely a video that I would share with others.

Like it or not, but money is at the center of most of the things we do now and days, so it is important to understand the value of a dollar. Paying attention to your own personal finances is one of the best things you can do; it is never too late. The choices you make today may have significant impact on your life tomorrow, such as retirement accounts and savings accounts. This is a video I would recommend to anyone; a must see.

Personal finance is hugely under discussed and taught in formal settings. Fortunately I feel as though I grew up with strong ideals when it comes to personal finance but it certainly must be taught. This is an eye opener for most people who don;t see the impact of not planning the financial aspects of life. A simple budget can keep someone from being buried in debt. I have been fortunate enough to save some money and not be in debt coming out of college. Hopefully the financial planning I have grown up with will help me through the future as well.

Money and personal finances should be taught early. Most Americans do not understand the 'behind the scenes' aspects of buying a car, a house, investing or retirement. I worked for a company for ten years with no retirement benefits. When my father retired at an early age, it opened my eyes which is one reason I decided to return to school.

Personal finance is extremely important. I was never taught anything about it in school ever. Maybe once in class we talked about banking or what checks were. As a finance major I find myself looking at what people do with their money. Sure buying a big truck now while you are young seems like the best thing to do. But what if you invested all that money into some stocks or bonds and bought a crappy car that doesn't use up so much gas. Seems like Americans buy everything on credit then wonder how they got into debt..

Within the first minute I already liked this video. I wish there was a required class on this topic before you have to graduate college. This video will be saved and brought up when I am doing my finances. Great educational information.
