One Life-Changing Class You Never Took: Alexa von Tobel at TEDx
This video discusses the importance finance management. When a person is able to budget their lifestyle, a higher level of productivity is achieved and expenses are remedied in an orderly fashion. I found this video to be very helpful.

I think that everyone should be taught a course about personal finances. It is very important for people to know about what they are spending their money on. If someone would have told me the pros and cons about student loans, I would have never gotten one. It is the worst type of loan to have because it will never be discharged in bankruptcy and the interest that has accrued while you were in school is being capitalized. So, in essence you are paying interest on top of interest. (A complete rip-off)

Even though this video took up 11 minutes of my time (lol) this is a great helpful video. I agree with lady when she said know personal finance comes from trails and error from yourself. She gave good statistics about personal finance and it's pretty correct. Knowing to do personal finance can help you prevent from debt. She gave a real life example of a girl coming straight out of college that's in debt of college loans which is about 90% of us. lol

I think this video is so important. The older we get, the more we get to realize that we know nothing about money. We make mistake after mistake when it comes to our finances and the worst part is, at the time, we didn't even realize it was a mistake. Like the video says, we learn personal finance from our parents because it isn't taught anywhere else. While our parents may be smart in other been there, done that areas of life, if they're terrible at dealing with their personal finances it gets passed down again and again like a terrible family heirloom. Budgeting, planning, and knowing where to put your money is a critical skill that will help you your whole life and has the potential to save your family generations of money problems and I think a class offered on personal finance would be one of those things that people are highly thankful for later in life.

I definitely agree with the speaker. Personal finance is one of the most important areas that people often pay less attention to. However, failure to properly manage ones' finance can bring detrimetal effect.

This video explains that things are accomplished through trial and error including personal finance. She states that there needs to be a show like the biggest loser for financing because we don not know how many financial decisions we really go through in a day and if we are make the right choice or is it the worse. However, through going through the process and learning from your mistakes is how one learns to win with finances or anything in life is to just try and see what happens. One can learn from this video that things take time but if you stick with it you will eventually get over it.

Money principles should be taught in schools. Finance is something so important which mostly ignored. We are talked how to many money but not how to spend it.The government gives out free money to millions, shouldn’t they teach people how to manage it! We would give our future generations a huge advantage by teaching these money basics. It would have helped me if I would have been taught these early on in my life. My family was not very good with money and I never learned how important these decisions were until later in life. Many of the older generations lived by different money principles but the world is different and new lessons must be learned in order to be successful

I believe that this video is fantastic and so unbelievable true! Personal finances are SOOO important! There are so many people that have a difficult time managing their finances and some people never grasp the concept of a budget. This video explains that personal finances are so important yet we do not get taught about this subject. Instead we learn about it through trial an error. This is so true and also so scary. I do completely agree that we should be taught about how to handle our personal finances. This is a subject that I believe should be taught starting in high school.

I took finance classes in high school and we never learned how to be financially literate when we moved to the next level of our lives. It would have helped me if I would have been taught these early on in my life. In fact, I am taking my own financial literacy class upon graduation.

This video truly is impacting. I am fortunately lucky to have parents that have helped me get my credit started. Two things, however, that i lack are budgeting and saving. A saying that is so true that ive heard is the best time to save was yesterday; very very very true.

This video was awesome. It discussed the struggles of personal finance many people face particularly graduating student. Theres no course regarding managing your money being taught. I can honestly say that my first two years in college, I was reckless with money. It wasn't until a few life changing events occurred, that made me want to turn my life around. I have my priorities together now. In the future, I only hope I become better with time and manage my funds more efficiently.

This was a very helpful video Like 'Jessica', I also have been stuck in a financial limbo. I graduated college in 2007 and have been working full-time ever since. Of the five principles I have put only two into practice. Unfortunately, I am not able to negotiate salary as I work for state government (budget cuts), and I live paycheck to paycheck working hard to pay my debt down as best as I can. I don't save as much as I would like, but I do have a retirement plan in place, and I have been contributing to than plan for six years.
I agree that personal finance is a much needed skill that everyone should learn. Every high school should offer this course, and every college student should be taught these basic principles in a course required of their curriculum. The domino effect is very true; the people who understand how to make, make, and keep money and plan for the future pass this knowledge on to their children, and therefore, future generations can keep benefiting from this knowledge. At the same time, people who don't take control of their finances and don't learn to budget pass on these bad habits to their children resulting in lost wealth down the line. Taking control of your money, living below your means, and passing on good financial habits to your children is imperative to live a good, stress-less financial life.

I liked this clip because it addresses a topic that is usually taboo, finances. For most Americans, money is our number one worry. I think if we were more educated about it starting at a young age, then we would manage our money better. Sadly, most of us find out how money works through trial and error. We have to learn as we go, how to become independent and what sacrifices to make in order to make our money stretch. Most of us learn about money management from our parents. I have always and had to pay my way through college so I feel I have a better understanding of finances than most young adults.

This video was very informational. There were tons of things the video hit on that I had no idea about. This is very common in our generations. No one fully understand the financial position we put ourselves into. We try to jump into financial situations that we can't afford and that is when failure takes place. It is important to try to live under your means that way when things happen, you are financially stable enough to handle the situation.

I believe the author is very correct, we should have more classes geared to our current society to educate those around us before its to late, classes like personal finance, STDs, or even pregnancy should be taught at a younger age and I believe if educated earlier they can prevent a lot more negative things happening to them.
