Anyone can be a manager, but not just anyone is a leader. Leaders have special qualities that draw others to follow. I agree that leaders should lead without an ego. Some of the most respectable leaders are the ones that recognize where they came from and have put forth hard work to get to where they are.

I think time, quality, and money expectations can all be achieved and the other two don't need to suffer. It would be considered great management. I like that he said people are managed by leadership. I've never heard such a profound statement. I had a manager and she was a terrible leader. She would give me the room to express myself and then pull it away because she would revert back to being controlling rather than letting me learn and expand as an employee within the organization.

This video basically explains leadership and how to build leadership with ego. The book he talks about in this video must be very helpful because he said it changes the speaker's life. Managers and leaders are very different. He said management is control, and leadership come under people the speaker said. I like the example his gave about the arm force.

A leader versus a manager. Managers have a title, and they have a job. Within that title and job there can be restraints. But a leader is someone who leads people into something. They do not pull or coerce people but instead they lead them there by going there first. They show them how it is done and then they empower them to do it, maybe even better than you did in the first place.

A persons ego is often their biggest downfall. It's okay to believe in yourself and your ideas and give credit to yourself when it is due, but when your ego becomes to large, it will start to hinder your organization. A good manager is able to push his/her ego aside and admit to their fault.

A leader is very different from a manager a leader can guide people to success and convince them to tag along for the journey. But a leader with a big ego goes hated throughout the workplace and everyone loses respect for the leader. You have to show respect and treat everyone the same and do not be full of yourself. A leader feeds off of the followers and he grows stronger as the people following are. He says leadership is a gift and I halfway agree, I believe leadership can be a gift but it can also be obtained if you put your mind and body to it. I would share this video with every manager I know.

Leadership is the most important commodity in earth and it is the rarest commodity many people do not have it, I liked that. I partially agree the idea that leadership is a gift, because what i have been taught in my classes is that leadership can be earn if you practise what qualities of a good leader. There are many theories of leadership, one is what is said, which i don't think hold true to today society.I like the idea that he said leaders are given power by the people and they need to give that power back to recieve more power. IF they keep the power to themselves they will fall.

Quality, time and money I think that this is an interesting way to look at management. And how the first chosen of the three will be stronger than the other two. And people that are able to lead through these three things successfully have more success at running a company. The chain example is kinda interesting.

To be a good manager, you must be a good leader. A leader and a manager are not the same thing. A leader takes responsibility for their team and guides them on a path that will get their project done in a way that best benefits the company. So just because you are a manager does not mean you are a great leader. Building leadership without an ego is a difficult task but something that can be beneficial for the company.

The difference between management and leadership is managing a group is controlling them and pushing them to do something, but leading them is showing them the way to do something and inspiring them to do something. Leadership without ego means not leading a group by thinking your way is always the only right way and telling that group to do it, but rather doing something yourself to show your employee or the people you are leading that number one, this is how you would do it, but more importantly number two, that you are no better and you are willing to do the same work to get the task done. Leadership is someone who can look at a group of people as just a group of people who are capable of getting a task done. Leaders don't think of levels of people and they don't see anyone as better than anyone else. They see everyone as a person with the same potential, themselves included.

This post goes hand in hand with many videos I have watched this semester. Being a great leader is a selfless act. You need to put others ahead of yourself, to do so you cannot have an ego problem. Having a big ego can get in the way of being the leader you could be. Egotistical people tend to think of themselves before the do of the team as a whole, this is not leadership quality.

I believe that in order to be a successful manager you must also be a leader as well. I mean how can you manage someone that you can't even lead? This is probably why we have so many inefficient managers in the corporate world today.

Leadership always had an ego. People believe that when they are in charge, they are better than everyone else. Knowing how to lead without the ego is the best way to teach others how to lead.

In this video, Bob Davids teaches you the characteristics that make a great leader. Most leaders think that they have to put on a show of power to make sure that their employees know who is boss. This is actually the opposite of a great leader and it is the wrong way to lead your employees. How would you feel to be put under pressure by authority, and almost scared to do your job because if you mess up you're not really sure of the consequences? Many employees don't work well under a lot of pressure. Under pressure, the mind isn't as creative and doesn't think as well if it is forced to throw out a thought or two on demand. Great ideas take time to take root and grow into something that can be used in business. The best leaders are the ones that show their employees what needs to be changed if they make a mistake instead of putting on a show of chastising them. The greatest leaders are very likable and the employees enjoy working underneath them. This leads employees to feel that their job is not really a job. The leader will put a foot down if need be, but, as long as you're giving it your best, then your leader should always continue to encourage you.

To be an effective manager, one has to be dedicated to leading their employees. For me, managing and leading go synonymously together because the most effective management leaders can do both.
