Time blocking. This is scheduling out time to do things that you would never get done if you did not schedule time for it. In the video she says that we are constantly pulled in several different directions and if we answer everything that came to us right when it came to us then we would never get the big important tasks done. This is so true! I think this video was very informative and I am going to try to apply this concept at work.

This video is very to similar to the other one, I believe by the same woman. We all know that distractions and interruptions cause a lot of lost work in the workplace and economy, but it's interesting that the video put an actual number on it. When she says to take your laptop and work elsewhere, it reminds me of my own personally habit of going to the library or business hall, because i know if i try to study at home, i won't get any work done.

This is a video that every student and worker can relate to. Distractions are everywhere and interrupt our productivity. I know when writing a paper or trying to study I have my phone ring or text message and that leads me away from my goal. I like the term time blocking, having a set time with no distractions isolate yourself and get rid of anything that could be a distraction. I know I used this many times in my college career. This is a great video for any student or worker should watch.

As a college student I believe you should already know how to work without distractions or interruptions. Sometimes interruptions are inevitable, but you need to be able to block these distractions out. I, myself, have to have a clear, clean, and quite space in order to produce my most productive work. The advice from this video is helpful, but as a senior in college I believe you should already know how to do this.

it is important to keep focused and do whatever you can to avoid getting interrupted by distractions. Interruptions that are not necessary should be avoided to the best of a person's ability. I can definitely relate to this, because I'm surrounded by distractions now, just like everyone else. However, the people that will succeed in life are the ones that are able to overcome the distractions.

It is important to pay attention while you are working. You need to understand what to avoid and what to pay attention to. You should always plan ahead early in your day about what needs to be accomplished to get the most out of your work day. This video is very informative about how to do this.

Distractions are everywhere! It's so hard to focus on task sometimes. I see people texting while driving. That seems like the biggest distraction. Why is it? Seems like people have forgotten that one can set time aside for task while completing the ones at hand.

I do this now when cleaning behind my dogs and doing other task around the house and it really does help you to become more organized and timely. I know that if I have to clean a dog cage it takes approximately 10 mins and if I don't have ten mins then I don't have enough time. This can work with any aspect of life.

It is difficult to avoid office distractions. Knowing what to ignore will help you to complete your work quicker. Interruptions can help you to procrastinate and keep you at work doing the same task for a longer amount of time. Taking the distractions and blocking them out will help increase your productivity and help you to become a better worker.

I can definitely relate to this. Time blocking is something we should all try doing when we are working on a project. The easiest way to time block is to give yourself a start time and an end time on a project. Allocate at least an hour or so to work on the project without distractions. Schedule a meeting with yourself and shut off your phone and isolate yourself from your coworkers. The most distractions that I face are at home. When I need to study for a test, I set a time and go to the library to get things done. I isolate myself in a cubicle on the fourth floor and will stay there until I have completed the task I set for myself. At home, I am constantly getting distracted by my room mates, the internet, my puppy, and anything else that can capture my attention. Going to the library helps with this, because there is nothing else to do there except stare at blank walls. In the video, she says it takes your brain 15 minutes to dive in and concentrate on one thing you need to do. Keep this in mind the next time you begin working on a project. You have to set aside at least an hour to make sure you are most productive and make sure you shut everything down and give yourself a time block.

Time blocking seems to be an effective way to get work done and minimize distractions. Distractions are everywhere and they are the worst when I am at home. There just always seems to be something more entertaining to do than the actual work. I like to go to the local coffee shop and study, just to get a change of scenery and focus.

This video explains why it is important to pay attention while working. One must understand what they need to pay attention to and what to avoid. Your best work is done when you hame 15 min. to sit down and think about your task before you start, to get your best work. Many of people are far to distracted by their phone and computers during the day to do their best work.

Time blocking is a good tip for scheduling priorities. I like the idea of removing all distractions in order to focus more on your work.
