What I took away from the article is the importance of time management and productivity. I am one who suffers easily from distractions and poor time management especially during times of boredom. When completing these links, I find it hard to stay focus and complete them on time. I tend to work well in quiet spaces so, I'm a work in progress.in the near future I hope to better manage my tasks in the near future.

Work Smart: Avoid Office Distractions with Time Blocking
These 'Work Smart' videos are perfect for me! I too experience lost productivity from multiple distractions at work. Since my main job is to assist students, I do need to be available to talk with students by phone, email, and in person when they contact me; but I can use time blocking to assist in blocking out other office distractions. My office is closest to the service area, so I hear our student assistants chatting most of the day. I also can hear everything going on in the front lobby. I will start closing my door when working on big projects and blocking out the time needed on my office calendar, so the students assistants know I am working on something important and that they should ask another counselor to help a student in need. I also feel I can be more productive if I set a start and end time and devote the entire time to working on the project without distractions.

This video explains why it is important to pay attention while working. One must understand what they need to pay attention to and what to avoid. Your best work is done when you hame 15 min. to sit down and think about your task before you start, to get your best work. Many of people are far to distracted by their phone and computers during the day to do their best work.

Time blocking is something we should all try doing when working on a task. Give yourself a start time and an end time on a project. Allocate an hour or so to work on something without distractions. When i have assignments to do for school, i get so distracted from the internet and phone that i just turn it off at times to keep focus. Something i did agree with was when she pointed out how it take 15 min or so to get focused or back to focus.

I'm starting to think that you want us to be organized with our time or something by how many of these different titled organization videos we watch. I get it because of how many people wait to put off these links, myself included. I do agree with the video and have used some of the techniques that are in this video. I live with two roommates that are very good at distracting me, I usually tell them that I have to do work for at least two hours before I start to socialize. I've just used block time for myself while also isolating my brain so that I can think properly on what needs to be done.

TITLE - Work Smart: Avoid Office Distractions with Time Blocking
I found this clip to be very helpful because I am always getting distracted or interrupted while I'm working on something important. Unfortunately, I am a procrastinator so I wait until the last minute and put even more pressure on myself. When I am working alone I get alot done, but I also work well when I have someone working with me, even if they are doing something separate. I feel more motivated when I have a study partner or someone else being productive with me. Facebook and social media cites are so distracting and I find myself getting off task alot. It is important to stay true to your goals and not jump at every emails or phone call. If you are a very busy person, let others know that you will be unavailable so they will not try to contact you during this time.

TITLE - Work Smart: Avoid Office Distractions with Time Blocking
This is something I find rather hard in my life at this very second. With so much going on I have time avoiding distractions. I have tried what the video suggest as Time Blocking, and sometimes not even that helps. I try my best to figure out what has to be done at the beginning of the week to try to get everything done, and yet sometimes it does not work. I need to take some tips from the video and try to turn off the internet because that is a huge distraction to me. Also, I need to put the phone away. It takes my mind off of what needs to be done.

Work Smart: Avoid Office Distractions with Time Blocking
time blocking is a great advice. When you are doing important brainstorming sessions, you should block everything out and be in a closed room putting your ideas down on paper. If you work in a busy environment it key also to make sure you put time off on your calendar so no one else will interrupt you. I think is important in any type of job setting to not be disrupted by daily things such as your phone messages or perhaps spam email that get to you every 10 minutes. If you set deadlines for yourself, I think you can be more productive.

When trying to get things done in general whether it be at home, school, or at work you are bound to have distractions. To get things done, you have to remove yourself at times from the distraction. The video makes a good suggestion about making a weekly meeting with yourself once a week especially when you do have deadlines to meet. But to make this achievable you have to take away the distraction of today being phones, social media, and the internet.

TITLE - Work Smart: Avoid Office Distractions with Time Blocking
I agree with what the speaker says in this video about how to avoid office distractions with time blocking. By taking out time for yourself, you can avoid the temptation or urge to even get distracted. As Gina has mentioned earlier, you can be a decisive and defensive task scheduler early in your day, and when you ate wing decisive about your schedule, try to schedule in time for yourself to give yourself a break. Set aside time for distractions.

The most important decision, as suggested in this video, is what to consider in your next set of actions. We need to remain focused and not give in to the millions of distractions around us that can ruin our productivity in the business. This all has to do with prioritizing and scheduling time to make sure you can truly focus on the task ahead.

I totally agree with this video. When you have a bunch of deadlines it is important to make time in your schedule to make these commitments happen. Turning off all electronics and the internet connections is a great idea! It can sometimes be too easy these days to just browse Facebook for a few minutes and then a few minutes turns into an hour and so on, making it very difficult to get the work done that actually needs to be done.

81 Title : Avoid Office Distractions with Time Blocking
This video is very true. If you have your day blocked out than you are more likely to complete more tasks in that time frame. For example if you give yourself between 10 and 10:30 to complete something you are more likely to get it done it in that time over saying ill start it at 10 and go until it is done. However if you get it done by 10:20 then you may be tempted to be distracted for the other 10 minutes.

I would definitely share this link with friends and colleagues. Thank you Professor. I really feel that this video really does hit on the right points. When you are at work you should be engaged in it and totally devoted to it. I think that with the issue of employees being on facebook and the issues with people dealing with anxiety disorders it really attributes to being totally into your work. I live by the motto of when at work unless I am at lunch or on break I leave my phone in my filing cabinet.

This video gave some good advice, but most of it was stuff that we have already seen in some of our previous videos. Knowing how to manage our time, and dealing with interruptions while avoiding our own distractions is very important for our productivity. I've personally found that making a meeting with yourself at a specific time to perform a specific task is the best way to get difficult and/or time-consuming projects done.
