When trying to get things done, distractions are everywhere. When I start an assignment, it never fails my phone rings or my mom ask me to do something for her. To avoid distractions, I turn my phone on silent and go to the library or by my grandparents' house. If I stay home or keep my phone on nothing will get done.

I can definitely relate to this. Time blocking is something we should all try doing when working on a task. Give yourself a start time and an end time on a project. Allocate an hour or so to work on something without distractions. Shut off your phone and even isolate yourself from your coworkers. For me, the most distractions I have are at home. When I need to study for a test, I go to the library and keep my phone in my purse, on silent. I isolate myself into a cubby hole and will make myself sit and study for a certain amount of time. At home I am constantly getting distracted by my dogs barking, loud noises from the laundry room, etc. so I make sure I don't stay there when I need to get something done. In the video, she says it takes your brain 15 minutes to dive in and concentrate on one thing you need to do. Keep this in mind the next time you begin working on a project; make sure you shut everything down and give yourself a time block.

Today when distractions are literally a click away, it is important to keep focused and do whatever you can to avoid getting interrupted by distractions. Like she says in the video, being able to block out time for meetings with yourself to sit down and really focus on what it is you have to do. It takes 15 minutes for your brain to get invested in a project. If you can get through those 15 minutes, it is easier to stay focused than it is to get distracted.

Unnecessary interruptions are one of, if not the biggest causes of our decline in productivity. When facing a tough task or assignment, we should block all interruptions possible for a set amount of time to be as productive as we can. This time of being uninterrupted will allow us to think clearly, and critically which will increase productivity.

TITLE - Work Smart: Avoid Office Distractions with Time Blocking With today society where there are too much distraction, time blocking is what i liked about her. Sometimes i get very little done because of so much going on around the me, the social medial- someone always posting something, texting, news etc.It takes me 15-30 minutes to get settle and once i get settle it is so important to avoid anything which brings distraction. Also what i don't agree with her or seems not to work with me is physical distraction. When i am in conference room, i cannot focus on two things, i either don't go instead of going and ignore the conference, i may try to do but the truth is that i will not be satisfy with use of my time.

Work Smart: Avoid Office Distractions with Time Blocking
I find this video very true. Whenever I have to study or do other important schoolwork I sometimes have to cut off my cell phone because if not I am constantly on social networks or doing other things. Sometimes people don't realize that your brain doesn't completely focus in unless you are in a completely quiet place and are completely zoned in. In my business I have to do a lot of creative work. Whenever you aren't a very creative person it takes total focus to really brainstorm. I do this time blocking quite often which is why I relate to this video.

TITLE - Work Smart: Avoid Office Distractions with Time Blocking
Time Blocking can be a good idea for business men and women when they are overwhelmed with work and are just too distracted by other things to get the important things done. I do believe that this can help people better manage their time and get things done. This is something that I have done with school for many years. Sometimes you have to shut off all of the other unnecessary distractions to get the important things done. However. it is important to know what things should be blocked out and what things should not. You can not block out the important things or keep pushing things behind because there are other things you need to do.

Time blocking is a good activity to use to increase productivity in a business or in your own schedule. Taking a specific amount of time and allocating it to one specific task will help you stay focused on what you should be, and allow your mind less time to wander. Another interesting point that she makes is how to shut off anything that will keep you distracted, for me, it would be a football game while I'm trying to study. We all have different things that fight for our time, we just need to learn when to spend time with the right things.

TITLE - Work Smart: Avoid Office Distractions with Time Blocking
She's right time blocking is critical when trying to get things achieved in a certain matter of time. I use time blocking when I have a exam the next day and I need to study really hard. I used time blocking because if I dont, I wouldnt get nothing done in the right amount of time. Time blocking is the best outlook for success when in a job or just in a college setting. I feel that everyone should time block to get the job done and to be successful.

it is important to keep focused and do whatever you can to avoid getting interrupted by distractions. Interruptions that are not necessary should be avoided to the best of a person's ability. I can definitely relate to this, because I'm surrounded by distractions now, just like everyone else. However, the people that will succeed in life are the ones that are able to overcome the distractions.

This video is about distractions. Distractions can be a major problem when you're trying to get something done or accomplish something. It can hurt you and cost you or your company valuable time. The video states that distractions cost US companies 650 billion dollars a year. This means that it needs to be taken seriously. Preventative measures like turning off your phone, or not accepting phone calls for a certain period of time can be effective in eliminating distractions.

Work Smart: Avoid Office Distractions with Time Blocking
I think this video states the obvious, which yes, it is important to block out time to concentrate. When i have assignments to do for school, i get so distracted from the internet and phone that i just turn it off at times to keep focus. Something i did agree with was when she pointed out how it take 15 min or so to get focused or back to focus. I think it is essential for one to put dedicated time apart to fully give all their attention to their work. If not, all the time it takes to get back in the "mode" will waste time.

Work Smart: Avoid Office Distractions with Time Blocking
This video is very similar to another one by the same person. I agree with it completely. When you have tons of deadlines to make, it is important to block some time off on your calendar. I also like the idea of turning off your internet connections. Sometimes it's just too easy to read the daily news or log on to Facebook when you have work to do. It happens to me when I'm working on papers for school all the time.
