Students, Please view and comment on this link of the day - yes, for your education, but also for the points, of course! Watch the video below: TITLE - 5 Surprising Traits of Successful Entrepreneurs Then, post a comment in reply to this discussion thread. Again, what to post? Here are some ideas: + What did you take away from the video? + How does the video relate in some way to your past experience (work, as a consumer, family, school, etc.)? + How might you use these ideas in your own career? Good luck! David

Contrary to what I thought when I saw the title of the video, all of the traits listed are actually surprising. As the statistics mentioned show, you don't have to be a young, rich, New Yorker to be a successful entrepreneur. Times have changed and with the evolving higher level of education and higher levels of thinking and cultural diversity, you can't pinpoint characteristics of someone who is going to be successful as an entrepreneur. All of these traits, no matter how random they are, go to prove that if you have a great idea and the drive to pursue it, you can be successful no matter who you are or what your background is.

The video is incredible fuel to the fire of young American who only knows English and is level headed. Studies were taken in an attempt to find traits about entrepreneurs, but they do not hold much weight with me. Thought the video claims what many entrepreneurs have in common, there is nothing showing any of that matters. An entrepreneur finds their own way to make something out of an idea and listening to a video tell them what an entrepreneur should have in their trait bag is not befitting of them. I can not even relate to this video at all as it is rather silly. Who judges what "successful" is anyway? Is successful being a millionaire or could it be making a profit of $.01?

The video is quite surprising. Yes, definitely I agree with the point that the background of a person has nothing to do with the ability of a person to become a successful leader. And, I also agree that you don't have to be the wealthiest or have an extremely luxurious life to become a successful enterprenuer. What matters the most is the drive, the willingness in you to achieve your goals.

The video is quite interest, i wonder where what kind of samples were used to make the results. Agree that immigrants are more likely to be self employed. Being an immigrant myself i would prefer 100% to be self employed rather than working for somebody else. I do believe that one of the reason why immigrants like to work for themselves is that they are hardworking, they come through hard life and they see many opportunities if they work for themselves than working for a companies who they always ask you about your accent. I do not agree with him that MBA are old, tell me average MBA age is between 30- 40 and i will a gree. Saying that MBA are more likely to liar, i relate this with one of the video "Spotting liars" Extravert are more likely to liar than introvert, and since i believe more MBA are extravert convince me partially.

I thought that this video was interesting and made a lot of sense. I would agree that many successful people tend to be older. Being successful takes a lot of time and trials and errors. Therefore, it only makes sense that it take a good amount of time to become very successful. I do not like the statement that successful people are psychopaths. I feel that the only reason this is a statement on this video is because mainly the only people that get the attention for doing unethical things are the people that are famous and successful. If unknown average Joes made the news for being unethical then I feel that they would outnumber the amount of successful people that are unethical.

I don't particularly agree with all the video and what it says, it makes valid points with the research it has on entrepreneurs. But I don't believe a majority of entrepreneurs are old, foreigners, who have ADHD. There is a boom of young people who are turning to open their own businesses and this group goes against the mold of the entrepreneur described in the video.

This video took me a little by surprise. I was definitely not aware that most successful entrepreneurs are psychopaths and are ADHD. I agree that a large amount of them are old, meaning they are probably a lot wiser than more young entrepreneurs. I also can see where most are foreign. I was not aware that most live in the middle of nowhere. I guess we just assume they are living in the big cities in New York and such. This was an interesting video, but I feel like I didn't get much out of it.

I disagree with trait four. All successful entrepreneurs are not old. If you look at the pass inventions, you will see they were created by young people. And the other traits about immigrants and living in the middle of nowhere was shocking.

There crazy psychopaths is a great way to describe successful entrepreneurs. I just think that they think out of the box and have ideas that they know would work. For people that are immigrants and try to start there own business, they have this mindset that they can come into america and start a business and be successful while doing so. People in america sometimes limit there opportunities and are afraid of growth and stuck to one way of living.

In this video there are five traits of successful entrepreneurs identified. The traits say they are psychopaths, have adhd, live in the middle of nowhere, are old, and tend to be immigrants. I can agree with these traits identifying entrepreneurs because you do have to be crazy or incredibly driven to want to start up your own business. It's a long process that undergoes a lot of failures until you reach a success.

TITLE - 5 Surprising Traits of Successful Entrepreneurs This video highlights just 5 traits of a successful entrepreneurs. It gives a good outline of what to expect form business entrepreneurs. The video presents the topic in a good way and having it drawn out makes people understand it more. I don't like the part when they say all entrepreneurs are old, there can be young business owner they just might not have as much knowledge or experience as the older ones but they still can run a good business.

I'm a little on the fence with this video. I think that your past and where you come from does have a little bit of an influence of where you'll end up. The way I see it, your family raise you a certain way, and that has a big impact on your attitude and your drive. I think this is one of the reasons that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

TITLE - 5 Surprising Traits of Successful Entrepreneurs
I agree with most of this video. I do think that there are lots of successful people who are from another country and there are lots of successful people who are older. I think that this is because these people (especially the older people) have had experiences that make them able to make sound decisions. I also believe that these people know what they want out of life and they go for it.

the lady talk about steps to become good entrepreneurs. Basically she said a good entrepreneur have some type of disorder or crazy (lol) according to her studies but that's what makes them great. My advice is to be careful if you want to become a great "entrepreneur"
