I believe that the main key to firing something is like the lady said in the video, don't get to personal just keep it straightforward.I have never fired someone and could only imagine the thought and practice that has to go into your preparation for that kind of scenario.

I thought this video was very interesting. In most companies the issue of firing is never easy, but making the decision collectively as a team is a great way to make sure you as a manager are making the right decision. In some cases people are fired for the wrong reasons or simply because it was a case of one person starting rumors about another. Firing someone in this way is good because you know you are making the best decision for the company.

This video contains some really helpful tips on the tough subject of firing. I have heard and learned that it is so important to document on paper when an employee gives you a reason that may lead to letting that employee go for legal reasons. I also think it is a great to make firing more of a group decision that way the individual has no one to blame but their self. I feel like this method will also influence the individual to do a good job and make sure others notice their good job. This is really smart because your employees that really want to be in that role or with that company will really put their all into their job.

It gives good quality techniques and advice on how a company/business owner should fire someone. I agree with the video that it is very important to keep these kinds of things professional and to not let your personal opinion get in the way of what needs to be done. The valve way is correct in that employers should let there employees know what is expected upfront that way when things are not going right they can not use the excuse that they had no idea what was expected.

How to fire someone can be a complicated question that most managers are not trained how to handle. This video had great advice on how to fire someone. The most important thing to keep in mind is to keep it professional, prepare, and don't give personal input when firing someone. Being honest about the situation and get to the point instead of beating around the bush but give them direct reference as to why they are being fired.

I could not even imagine the anxiety of having to fire someone. I think it takes a really strong person to let someone go from a company. I like the idea of team decision firing, so that not just one person who might have been rubbed the wrong way is in control.

I have never had to fire anyone before, but if I do ever have to it I can imagine it would be very difficult. The firing process is not necessarily a step by step thing, but more of a basis by basis thing. In the end of the video they said it is important to always remain professional and compassionate.

This video seemed to state the obvious for me. While the Valve example was relevant, the information presented was not groundbreaking in my opinion. Firing is a tough situation to approach, and genuine compassion with professionalism is a hard thing to obtain. Every situation is completely different and should be handled as such.

Firing is never something someone wants to do, but there are times when it must be done. The proper actions and taking the right channels should be considered when firing someone. You should also explain the reasons why you are having to let them go and that blame falls solely on them.

Firing someone is hard task, especially if you knew the person or knew they were in a rough situation, but it is all apart of the role of being a manager. You cannot expect your team to thrive with one weak link because they bring the whole team down. The point of being in business is to make money, network, and grow. If one person is not apart of that vision and not helping it, then they must go.

This was a nice video that shows how Valve fires their employees. The biggest thing at Valve is that the employees are independent and when it comes to firing time, there should be no surprises. If you do not show progress than you are gone, you cannot blame anyone but yourself. She also mentions always take each firing in each individual case. Treat each case with professional manner and respectful manner. I would say that this is a great video for managers or CEO's to watch.

This video provided great advice and a great platform on how to fire someone. As mentioned before, I have never fired someone and could only imagine the thought and practice that has to go into your preparation for that kind of scenario. Finding a balance between being stern/straightforward and compassionate must be an extremely fine line to follow.

Managers will most likely always have to fire someone. But the way you go about it should be done correctly. This video gives a good idea of how you should handle a situation when deciding to fire someone. I think that it should be a group decision and based on an individuals performance. this video states that you should keep a record of what they have done and to show them. I think that is a good idea and clearly for legal purposes.

I must admit this is a interesting video. I agree that their is a certain way to fire someone professionally. Some managers don't take serious enough but it should be done with integrity and today most managers don't have it.

Firing is not a fun task. There is no one set way to fire an individual. Each person is different and has different needs that need to be fulfilled. The video game company has a great strategy of how to fire workers that do not fit in. Taking each person's opinion rather than just one person is the best way to handle any given situation.
