Instant MBA: You Need To Sell Out Without Selling Out
I think the people who mocked Tony Hawk for being a sell out in the skater industry was most likely envious that he/she did not think about those business ventures first. He created opportunities for himself and with those opportunities his name became a house hold name. Heck, I’ve known who Tony Hawk is for at least 7 years and I have never even thought about skating of any sort. I think business is about creating your own opportunities and craving out your own way to do things. It is scary, but the risk will be worth it in the end.

INSTANT MBA: You Need To Sell Out Without Selling Out
People have opinions all the time. In my opinion, wanting to be successful at something does not make you a "sellout." Success is something we all want to achieve one day no matter what it's in. Whether your designing a video game or something else, be as successful as you can be for your own sake and do not worry about what others may say or think.

INSTANT MBA: You Need To Sell Out Without Selling Out I think that if people are calling you a sell out, it's because your doing something good and they wish they were in your shoes. If they were in the same situation as you with the same opportunities as you then you wouldn't hear a word from them saying you was a sellout. People these days tell you to follow your heart and dreams but when you do exactly that and something positive comes out of it then they want to talk about you as if they didn't give you the advice to start off with. You should follow your dreams to be successful and if people talk about then it's fine because they are going to talk about you anyway, successful or not.

INSTANT MBA: You Need To Sell Out Without Selling Out
Interesting perspective. I liked the last sentence of the article, “I feel good about how I represent skating and I just keep going." He has an excellent point. Whether it is due to jealousy or the fact that those you are competing against think that you are giving into commercialization, if you feel that you are doing the right thing and representing your industry in an upstanding manner, then don’t worry about the rest and keep doing what you enjoy doing.

INSTANT MBA: You Need To Sell Out Without Selling Out
I like the fact that Hawk stuck to his guns even though others around him may have been envious. He didn’t allow himself to falter just because he was known as a “sell out”. I believe that in life the only person who can truly help you out is…….well you. Regardless of what others may say or think, if you think something will benefit you, do what you think is the best for you.

Alt link 25: INSTANT MBA: Make Your Employees Passionate For Their Company
I think Branson is a cool guy and has an entertaining way of thinking. Keeping employees passionate about space travel doesn’t seem like a hard task, because let’s face it, who wouldn’t want to travel in space? The real task is keeping people who work in shipping and receiving or payroll for virgin media passionate about their jobs. Branson must be doing something right because Virgin is a successful MNC.

INSTANT MBA: You Need To Sell Out Without Selling Out
If standing up for what you believe in makes you a sellout, then I will be one for most of my life. I enjoy sticking out to my bosses, while blending in with my coworkers. It's the best of both worlds. Working with coworkers who are comfortable coming up to you and telling you what is bothering them, while going the extra mile to help out the boss and prove that you are worth something to him/her. Being a sellout is the best thing that you can do with your job, but enjoying it and being passionate about it is a must.

INSTANT MBA: You Need To Sell Out Without Selling Out
The term sellout is a lot like many oer negative terms: to be called one, you have to be someone people have heard of. You can't be sellout if you haven't gotten successful enough for people in your industry to notice you. Don't hate the player, hate the game is what he is saying. Just because he did something no one else would do and brought the lifeblood of a very small clique into the mainstream does not make him a sellout, it makes him a good business person with the smarts and the wherewithal to see the potential in such a venture.

INSTANT MBA: You Need To Sell Out Without Selling Out I feel that when you are considered a "Sell Out" is because you are now somewhere or doing something that someone didn't have the nerve to put out there and go with. If you have something you enjoy and find a way to make a living off of it then I say do your thing and don't worry about how others perceive you.

INSTANT MBA: You Need To Sell Out Without Selling Out
In my opinion, in order to be considered a sellout, you must be doing something right. When people hear the term "sellout, they automatically assume a negative connotation, but if I were to be called a sellout, that means people know who I am, which is usually a good thing for business. I think Tony Hawk has the right idea when he says you can't listen to people's negative opinions, and you have to keep going doing what you think is good for you.

INSTANT MBA: You Need To Sell Out Without Selling Out
If people say you are a sellout, don't let it go to your head. People get jealous of successful people so when people try to put you down because you are doing well just ignore them. Stay positive if your business is doing bad or good. Being a sellout is a great thing so don't let peoples negativity bring your business down. Keep doing what your doing and try to be even more successful.

I admire Tony Hawk for not letting the opinion of others affect his morale and the way he ran his business. The people who were judgmental towards him were just jealous of his success and he did not let these negative comments derail him from what he was trying to achieve. He just kept on doing what he believed in and he was very successful because of it. Clearly the judgmental comments he received were not the opinion of the majority, bc his products still sell and he is still one of the most popular skateboarders out there. If he had taken the opinions of these few people to heart and let it affect his business, he would not be who he is today!

I do not see how this article relates to business really but who cares what others in your industry think of you? The only opinion you should concerned with is your customer base and your family that is it. There will always be jealousy from competitors but you cannot focus on that. Use it as fuel to push you to the next level.

Instant MBA: You Need To Sell Out Without Selling Out
I take this article as a do what you want with your future regardless of what others may think. Hawk believes people’s opinions would not stop him from proceeding with his dreams. People will always have a negative or positive opinion. Most people will be jealous of what you’ve accomplished and you should stay positive. Do what makes you happy and live your life doing the things you love.

You do want to listen to what others have to say and realize these are opinions that others hold and understand why they hold these opinions. It's the best of both worlds.
