TITLE - An NYC Bike Messenger Turned SoulCycle Instructor On Managing - And Staying Calm - In Chaos I like the video and what she said apply to what a manager or employe need to do at work. I fine staying calm been so true, at work sometimes it is just hard to keep focus when there is so much work to be done and you don't have enough time, staying calm and focused is the key it will not only help you to finish the work on time with less stress but also to produce a quality work by not rushing through to get it done. It is also important to manage your time and be flexible.

This is an interesting perspective on making decisions under chaos and pressure. Hearing decision making from someone making split second decisions under chaos on a bike in the middle of NYC traffic makes you keep things in perspective. It is definitely applicable to the workplace as well though, remaining calm and focusing on the priorities is important in making decisions. Many times, the person who works well under pressure will separate themselves from the competition and be noticed by management.

An NYC Bike Messenger Turned SoulCycle Instructor On Managing - And Staying Calm - In Chaos
I lived in New York for 7 years so I can relate to the video. I remember all the chaos, people, cars, etc. This was a great example to explain how to remain calm and focus at work and how to manage the time. Also, this example emphasizes how fast we have to think and react to our surroundings. I loved the movie she was a stunt double for and this clip!

She has a great point remaining calm is a good idea when riding a bike in new york. Im glad that she hasnt been hit by a car in new york by how those people drive. The three tips that she offer can relate to any day business and can be extremely useful for everyday work. She gives tips that people dont really focus on but its beneficial.

Remaining calm is something that is always important when making a decision, no matter how big or small. Chaotic situations can definitely alter someone's ability to think straight and consider all aspects of a decision, but I think that being able to make quick decisions under a lot of pressure is a good quality for a manager.

Stay focused, Manage Your time, Be flexible. This video is about a bike messenger but can the girl has some main points that can be used for any circumstance. Her three points basically narrow down to not getting flustered. She has many obstacles throws at her every minute but she’s able to adapt to her surroundings and make it work, and this type of strategy can be used in any situation.

First of all, I agree with the woman who started the video. You have to stay calm in the most stressful situation because the moment you start stressing out, you will fail at what ever you was doing. Secondly, I like her three plans she came up it, and you can use it even in the workplace like she said in the video.

TITLE - An NYC Bike Messenger Turned SoulCycle Instructor On Managing - And Staying Calm - In Chaos
This video was a great watch. It shows just how important it is to stay calm while involved in chaos. When you allow stress to take over the situation, the problem just continues to grow and it will only lead to failure. I though the plans that she came up with were very useful. It is something that an employee can remember while stuck in situations in the workplace.

This is a really cool article. I was super interested in this clip because i have never heard of people doing this before. I do not think that this is the best way to deliver a message, but on the other hand it must be wonderful to keep one in shape. While working this job you must think quickly or you theres a good chance that you will be hit by the busy New York traffic.

An NYC Bike Messenger Turned SoulCycle Instructor On Managing - And Staying Calm - In Chaos
This was a very interesting video. I would have never thought to compare what a bike messenger does to a person running a business but this video opened my eyes. I definitely can use the advice of staying focused, managing my time, and being flexible. Staying focused is important to get task done. Managing time is also very important. And always being flexible helps. At my current job, we have to be flexible because we are always dealing with interruptions and new tasks being handed to you.

An NYC Bike Messenger Turned SoulCycle Instructor On Managing - And Staying Calm - In Chaos
I think Kym's advice of how to deal with chaos and stress at work, whether that be on the road or in the office, is very helpful. Dealing with emails, clients, co-workers, projects, tasks, phone calls all take a toll on mental and emotional health. Kym's advice to stay focused on the tasks at hand, managing time wisely, and being flexible are great quick tips to deal with stress. When I find myself overwhelmed with work, I often take a short three to five minute break; I walk out of the office away from the issues, I calm myself down, and then I re-evaluate the situation. I have to stay flexible, as their are always students calling or coming into the office with questions, but with this, I do know I need to better manage my time. Working smarter throughout the day will help make sure I can handle external and internal stressors, unexpected changes, and still complete my to-do list in the time needed.

An NYC Bike Messenger Turned SoulCycle Instructor On Managing - And Staying Calm - In Chaos
Staying calm is important in any situation, but most importantly on emergency situations. Having to deal with daily work load can be very stressful, so it is important to see the big picture and dont panic. The advice given by the video is to stay focused, manage your time, and what I think is the most important is flexibility. It is important as an employee to be able to adapt and change to whatever the company is requiring. It also important to remember that there will be unexpected changes that sometimes you will not be able to prepare, so by following those 3 rules, you will be able to manage the situation better.
