I have to disagree with this video. In being a great leader you poses certain skills that allow you to lead people in their adventures, but in this video it explains that people who accomplish the most poses these skills. The highest performers in a company are not the best leaders in all situations. I believe that luck can happen, but for the most part people have to work for their good luck. If you work hard enough luck will eventually come your way. I would not show this video to my colleagues and/or friends.

Protective paranoia, fanatic discipline, and have empirical creativity. This video talks about these three things and how great leaders possess them. The beginning of the video talks about Bill Gates and how he takes preventative measures to unsure that nothing goes wrong. He prepares for the worst and hopes for the bast. This type of preventative thinking is important because it takes luck out of the equation and puts the leader in control. Discipline and creativity are also important. Without leaders taking risks and disciplining themselves to work hard, there would be no luck.

Good leaders can make their own luck. Although, its not just luck its also hard work and dedication. If you see things in a positive aspect and see ways to continue to make things improve, you can create your own luck. When you strive to do your best and have faith, things will be able to work on your side and fall into place.

I really don't believe in luck. I believe in networking and having faith. I've always felt that being lucky was never real. Maybe because I've never experienced a "lucky" situation. I've always had strong faith to bring me through.

Leaders do not create their own luck, but they create their own situations. Leaders learn how to make decisions to make themselves prosper. They are able to bring in high returns based on other people and their own predetermined decisions.

In my personal opinion luck tends to favor the hard working. Luck tends to gravitate towards the worker who works hard and is diligent in his tasks. Good employees know when to bet on the sure luck when they have it.

Morton does a great job at pointing out the things that make great leaders successful. Being a successful leader is not just about having a great idea or selling a whole lot of a product. Being a great leader is about preparing for both good and bad luck situations. Morton says that the best leaders always prepare for the things that might go wrong, and commit themselves and their team to getting the job done. Great leaders also use empirical data to gauge the success of their products and services. Using data to measure goals is a great strategy, and it is very satisfying when you meet those goals. Great leaders understand the importance of seizing the moment in a good luck event and turning the good luck into profit. This is how leaders make their own luck; they prepare for the opportunity.

Great leaders surround themselves with a productive team of people. These leaders are always prepared to be wrong and have a disciplined back-up plan. This video utilizes success stories from very success people as examples of what these leaders look like. This video was very insightful.

This video is interesting. It takes many things to make a great leader. And the normal perception appears to not be accurate according to this speaker. And he goes on to describe trial and error within the leaders from of mind, for successful companies.
