More automatic, better planning and planning ahead. Like the number #2, prioritize the most critical task. This is how I do things what is most important right now, but this could hurt you because you are not looking at the future and need to see the bigger picture while doing this.

Develop Productivity Rituals
I have tried to create rituals for myself in my work and personal life, so this video is very timely. I do need an earlier and more precise bedtime. I usually find myself watching espn late into every night. I need to go to be earlier. I also have found it easier when I start my day early, and start my task early. I do find myself writing down ideas and tasks as they come up. The notes section on my phone is very helpful for this task. Creating a self-evaluating ritual is also a very good idea.

This video had some great points on rituals. Having positive habits can maximize productivity in the workplace. Prioritize! Putting the most important tasks first and staying focused-actually completing that task can increase productivity. When your continue with getting things done in order of priority can turn into habits. THen each day these tasks will get completed and can lead to reduced stress.

Good video. We are constantly pulled in many different directions it is hard to keep up with things around us. If we make rituals, we are able to stay consistent and try to stay on top of everything. Sometimes we may have to choose what to do and what not to do, but in the end we can only handle so much.

Being a procrastination leader, I always complain about too much work, too little time. I often omit the fact that everybody's got the same amount of time as I do. Simply complaining is not going to fix my problem, changing my life style is what I need. "The real secret of getting things done is to make them more automatic, so they require less energy." From now on, I'm going to form a regular bedtime, prioritize my key task for the next day to accomplish, write down ideas and tasks so I don't have to remember them. My goal is to get rid of my bad habit of procrastination.

Having rituals make us who we are. If you check your emails every morning or eat at a certain time it helps keep you on track. I totally agree and if you don't have any rituals you should get some.

I recently read an article that stated that it takes 66 days for something to become a habit. If you can stick to a ritual that makes you more productive for that time period, you will develop the habit and not have to work as hard at it. I have a lot of trouble making it to the time when ritual becomes habit. I get easily distracted, or talk myself out of doing something. I am a huge procrastinator, so I think that if I were able to develop rituals to combat this destructive behavior my life would be much easier.

Rituals are a very good way to promote good habits and success in the workplace. If you get in these rhythms of doing these rituals you will do this ritual without even knowing you were doing it. It becomes so habitual that it just happens. So if you get into a ritual of doing a good habit it will promote a better life. By taking notes on your day you can see what you did and when you did it. This will help in doing these rituals and be on your way to forming habits. I know i have rituals when I wake up and go to bed. This is a good video for anyone to view and for anyone to take with them.

This video was very interesting. The purpose of it was to explain to the audience how rituals are important for developing productive habits. Rituals are useful for various reasons, but especially for developing an unconscious rhythm. This video demonstrated some interesting ideas about how to develop good unconscious habits. I found this video helpful.

I do agree that rituals are very important. To be able to be productive you should always prioritize. His ideas where to prioritize one task per day, write down new tasks or ideas, and question yourself when triggered. This are all helpful ideas that everyone should do.

If we just take the "rituals" or habits that we use throughout our everyday lives and apply those to the workplace, it will feel less like work and more like a simple routine. As we develop routines, they require less energy and eventually less focus. It becomes something we just do. We see people walking around attached to their cellphones, tablets, or musical devices. A habit or routine for them is to pick up that device and plug in each day. If we begin working on doing something everyday at work, or planning for work, it simply becomes as easy as remembering to grab that electronic device. As for maintaining a proper amount of sleep, that comes down to self-discipline. We do not all require the same amount of sleep but it really isn't a challenge as to make sure you get what you do require. Prioritize your wants vs needs so allow yourself to have your downtime and enjoy things along with work. I prioritize what needs to get done when closing up at work in the sense of what is absolutely required to get done vs what can get done if I arrive earlier in the morning. This allows for the tasks to be completed without working too late on a specific day. There is always some give and take. Trial and error are usually how we find out how to be more efficient and fall into a routine when it comes to work.

I like the idea of making healthy and productive lifestyle choices rituals that turn into habits, which require less energy. This will make goals easier to obtain because they become typical ways of behaving. So, the first step is to decode what that change will be. Sleeping a full night? Exercising? Everything else there is no time for? Once that choice is made, implement the effort to change it into a lifestyle change. Next, prioritizing one key task to get done everyday while your energy level is at its prime is a great tip that has been mentioned several times throughout the various links if the day. Keeping a list is something I already do and I could not imagine life without my list or my calendar. Lastly, the advice he gave about questioning yourself when triggered was very interesting. Asking yourself how you could present the facts of a situation on the most positive manner possible and then doing so will undoubtedly change your life.

I really need to learn this. I can get so much use out of learning how to be productive and making certain things a habit. I wonder if this would work for the purposes of eating healthy? I think it would.

I have to do the same thing in the morning to maintain my productivity. If I want to have a non stressed productive day whether it be at school or work. I have to get up earlier than needed, shower, eat an egg sandwich, get dressed and brushed my teeth last. I don't know why but I HAVE to do all this the same way or I feel weird for the remainder of the day.
