This video is very helpful. It will help me schedule for my exams and work and time for just me. Because no matter how busy you are in life you have to set time aside for yourself or you will go crazy. I would recommend this video to others.

This is one of my favorite video thus far. I've never heard of the concept of defense scheduling and really think that is a very smart to plan defensively. I am definitely going to start planning things in advance for myself. I think this will allow me to take my personal time back from my professional life. Lastly, I think this will also help with work overload and stress relief.

The video had some really good tips about time management, but I think there are a few things we as humans will just never do. For example, putting time down for "me" would never happen. Although this is a great idea, there will always be something more important to do during that time or something else needed to be scheduled. I agree with reminders and writing everything down into a calendar. When I had my office position I had a weekly planner that I wrote everything down in! Even small things like follow up and phone calls were written in my planner. I found myself much more organized than other coworkers.

I use my Google calendar to keep everything synced to both my phone and computer. I often jot down to do items using my smart phone. I review it daily to see what I need to get done ASAP and to see what can wait. In the back of my mind, I know I have I ton of things I need to get done everyday. But constantly reminding myself of it, can be overwhelming. Therefore, I take Saturdays, which are my days off from work and school, to just relax, rest, and recuperate. Good video.

I have multiple calendars; one on the wall in my room, one in my purse, one in my phone, and numerous ones I make on scrap paper. Following a calendar instills a sense of organization and smooth transition throughout your days, months, and even years. Along will all my calendars, I include my to-do lists. Of course my calendars mark different tasks, such as work, homework, and tests, but I also include free time i have to accomplish different activities on my to-do list, such as going to the gym, cleaning, and shopping.

I live by my calendar every day. I put everything in it, if i didn't then I wouldn't know what i needed to do next. My schedule at work goes by a calendar because people make appointments with me. There were some very helpful tips in this video. Certain schedules work differently for each individual. Sometimes a more defensive schedule make work for one but not for others. My schedule can be definitely defensive at times just depends on what my task and goals are that needed to be finished.

so lets recap, in order to make sure you have enough time to get everything done you need to make sure you've been defensively planning, or blocking out time for yourself to take care of the work needed. i will be sure to use this in my professional life. i liked how she said that we should respect the time as if we were meeting with a coworker. one of the only ways to get something done is to have enough respect for it. we've got to be self motivated to get anything done.

I really liked this video I have never heard of scheduling time for yourself before. Many people use their calendar to schedule important events and meetings but many of us don't think to actually schedule time for ourselves. We get so caught up in pleasing everyone around us and scheduling time for other people in our lives that we don't make time for ourselves.

This video was spot on for me. I have always been a procrastinator due to not keeping up with due dates and deadlines. I recently got a dry erase calendar for my office and began mapping out every deadline and event I had for the entire month. Seeing the actual activities all laid out allowed by to prioritize and get work done early instead of last minute. Keeping an up to date schedule in sight allows you to plan ahead, which is what I have learned to do.

Using a calendar or a to do list is a difficult task for me to keep up with. This video has shown me that if I can find a way to keep with a schedule, I can then become more productive and efficient throughout the work week. The part about planning your own time can be difficult if your job does not give you a weekly schedule to go by. Of somehow you do have a schedule in advance it would be wise to organize time for you and your family so that you can have a quality life balance.

Defensive scheduling is a very novel idea. Honestly it seems like it isn't always the best idea when you're beginning your career. I'm mainly thinking of myself as a first year associate in a marketing firm putting on my calendar "me time". I'm pretty sure this wouldn't go over well with my colleagues not to mention the mountain of work I expect to have to do as a lower level employees. I think this might be a good idea for someone who is higher up or who owns their own business. My first few years I plan to be too busy to do anything like this.

It's not that I do not agree with these videos with Gina because I do, it's just that I feel like they are so obvious. Scheduling your time is important and remembering to schedule time for yourself is very important. If you do not make time for yourself, and you are a workaholic, you will burn out very quickly plus you will not be as productive. I use my weekends as time to myself. I give myself time to recharge and prepare for the week ahead.

Great advice! I use my iPad's calendar already for different events and meetings but I never thought to use it for "meetings" with myself or to actually plan out study times. I think that could be a very good way to stay productive and to make sure things get accomplished.
