I like this video. Sometimes, it does pay to be quiet and just listen/think. I am an introvert, so I can understand the importance of being quiet and to myself. I enjoy my time to think and get things done. I don’t really like group work, unless each member of the group is willing to pull their own weight. All in all, this video was enjoyable and refreshing.

Everyone needs both intraverted and extraverted traits. In the video they explain how Steve Jobs did not actually invent the Apple Computers and software, but one of his friends invented it and showed Jobs who then pitched the idea to start a company together, so without the intraverted personality of the creator and the extraverted personality of Jobs, the Apple Computers would not exist.

This video made a great point! It reminded me of my mom. She is a very meek, kind person who rarely gets angry. But when she speaks, people listen to her. The more people talk, the less their words mean. Quiet people tend to think things out more before they speak, which is a good thing.

As an introvert, this video gave me serious hope for my future career. Personally, I can’t have any kind of noise when I work or study and I feel like my best work is done during those times. I live on campus so I try to go to the lab around 5 or 6 in the evening instead of during school hours when there are tons of people talking. I also strongly agree when she says that introverts and extroverts attract. My boyfriend is extremely extroverted and social, almost to the point where a lot of people describe him as obnoxious, while I’m very shy, quiet, and introverted to the point of if something’s wrong with my food, I won’t send it back. Just from personal experience, it’s very intimidating to try and express an idea while trying to talk over a whole bunch of loud, extroverted people. I feel like he helps me find my voice and express my ideas to people while he’s told me that I help remind him to not be too overbearing with his ideas and opinions to the point where it makes people uncomfortable. We are different in those ways but I feel like being opposite makes up for the things we lack. I think it would be beneficial for me to have a relationship like this with my few colleagues so we can all share and express our ideas.

I like this video. I like how she points out that the people who are loudest don't always have the best ideas. Character is not always the answer. It is time to look at the advantages and disadvantanges to both introverts and extroverts. Apple is a great example. A different Steve, who was an introvert, was actually the creator of Apple. Working alone worked for him, whereas for others it doesn't. Everyone has their own way that they are most effective.

I like this video because sometimes we forget the introverts, but they are people to who can contribute. Also this video for me taps into diversity, which we should have respect for and honor everyone's opinion.

This goes back to the UFC video. There were two partners, one an introvert and one an extrovert. Both equally important. I had no idea about this other Steve in Apple, and it kind of sucks that he doesn't get as much credit as he deserves, but I suppose he prefers that. In some situations I would consider myself an introvert. Especially when there are very charismatic people around I tend to keep quiet, but that doesn't mean I don't have great ideas. I suppose I'm just afraid of being rejected which causes me to stay even quieter.

I agree. Everything has to has a balance. I try to live a very balanced life. But every aspect in life there are always positives to any negatives. If you really think about it, everything will balance out.

When thinking about business people, introverts do not come to mind. I agree with this video in saying that many times introverts are overlooked in the business world. they are definitely undervalued because they do not stand out. As a manager, it is important to not forget about the thinkers of the group. They may not always have a lot to say but I can bet that whatever they do have to say is worth hearing. They are the ones who sit back and take everything in, instead of just speaking their minds like extroverts, they often contemplate their thoughts and responses. I think that an introvert's opinion can be more valuable than an extravert, just because extraverts often do not take the time to just think and sometimes that is what needs to happen.

This video brings to light the advantages of a well balanced team. We often place more value in charismatic, dynamic leaders but introverts are needed as well. Striving for a balanced team of individuals should be the goal of management. Without quiet time to reflect and focus, one will miss out on opportunities. While a challenge, it is important to try to obtain a balance.

Be diverse. That is basically the moral of the story. Opposites attract is a good point she also tended to bring up. Two different types of personalities always come up with something great. Like she said about apple, it was great because of the extrovert and introvert personalities working together. I personally can be either or when I feel like it but I typically prefer introvert. Sometimes people need that in a group, not a group of leader and no one to follow or a group of outgoing people and no one that keep to themselves.

I like the point made that states that the extrovert and introvert work better together. And the example of how the Apple computer was developed provided a great example on how these two different types of people could bring about such an awesome product.

So combine the personalities. I think as companies are reorganizing the way that they are structured this is becoming more and more apparent. Why because if you work in a corporate structure where everything doesn't have to go by the boss people will notice if someone isn't being productive. This includes the boss. Back in the day and probably still a charismatic person could take an introverted workers work and take credit while keeping the creator on staff. However with this change of structure it shows what everyone is doing. So everyone has to be involved.

When you're in a group, people tend to follow the person with who is loudest. The most efficient teams are the ones with extroverts and introverts. Introverts tend to come up with ideas, but aren't likely to share them in the same way extroverts share ideas. If the introverts can tell their extrovert friends about their ideas, then the extroverts can be the loud ones in the meeting, telling everyone about the ideas. I'm more of an introvert so I would be more likely to come up with an idea, and share it with a close friend who could then voice my idea to others.

In a team you need both introverts and extroverts. When these two come together the team will work great. But don't always listen to the person who is loudest. Just because they think their right and are loud doesn't mean it's true.
