I would definitely share this link with friends and colleagues. Thank you so much professor! I think everyone just as the Harvard Princeton Review says in the piece should have a purpose in life. Without purpose you feel as though nothing has worth. Being accomplished and having accomplished things makes people full of energy and successful. Everyone should do things that are full of integrity and worthiness. People who do otherwise find themselves making really bad decisions.

TITLE- Create a Life with Purpose
I think the message in this video would be great if we lived in a perfect world. Morality seems to be highly emphasized in this video and I completely agree with the importance of it in business. The only problem is, the line between what is or isn’t has been drastically blurred by our society. Decision-making based solely on morality, in a society based on logic is not going to consistently result in success or happiness. Sometimes one must stretch the boundaries of their moral compass to get the result they are looking for.

Despite everyone being entitled to their own opinions, this video is largely subjective… too much so. For these reasons and to no surprise, I disagreed with much of this theology focused speech, especially when the speaker states, “Society will become prosperous and peaceful if there are clear rules that they need to follow and there has to be a mechanism to hold people accountable for people who do or do not follow the rules.” The reason why I hate this quote is because it is unrealistic, no one rule can be beneficial for everyone- therefore there will always be people deviating from normalcy.
He also states and I disagree, “Who you want to be and the impact you want to have on life is quite clear. The grayness comes when you just haven't decided what life is all about.” People aspiring to change the world because they found its current state to be a bore probably wouldn't agree with this. Sometimes we need the “grayness” to keep things developing. Sometimes we need to dislike our surroundings. What the speaker preaches is safety over risk, but sometimes risks are needed to evolve and learn. Even failure has its potential as you can learn and better yourself from it.

Everyone has different beliefs, it depends on how you were raised and what your outlook on life is. I like that he says god isn't going to ask you what your degree is he's going to ask what you did to help people on life. Since I believe in god and that life is more about being a good person this makes sense to me but others may think differently. The bottom line is we should all focus on making the world a better place, that's what life is truly about.

This is the author I chose to do my book report on. His book is amazing. It gives you theories and provides examples to help grasp the theories. The book talks about how we want to be as truly happy as we can be. We should strive to live a life where we don't mind working a bunch of hours every week because we enjoy our job so much. You don't want to be one of those people who are truly unhappy with their lives.

I was not a fan of this video. It seems that the boring man in the glasses being interviewed by the bald guy based most of his information on God or faith. This is fine I suppose, but not everyone has the same God or the same religion. This is a very narrow and closed-minded view.

How will you measure your life is a great question that many people don't think about often. Often times people do ask themselves whats my purpose in life. They mentioned how to measure your goals and if you are achieving them. What I took away from this video is to figure out what my true passion is.

This video was not very interesting. The author of the book mainly talked about God when it came to how to live your life and what God expects from people. I feel not everyone could get anything from the book because they may not have the same beliefs or same religion.

Personally, I had a very hard time following this video. The speaker is quite boring and monotone, and the information given could probably be summed up in half the time. However, I do agree with the fact that we must live our lives with a sense of purpose and direction. Without any direction or purpose for living, our lives will fail or walk aimlessly throughout the world, not having a clue where it is going and what it wants to do. I know that there are ethical decisions and spiritual decisions embedded within this video, and I agree that ethics and spiritual morality should always be followed. When you have a purpose in your life and desire to change the world, I find that you are more apt to follow the directions and follow the steps that will help you achieve your goal, rather than just cheating someone and skipping to the end. When you have a purpose, you feel like an anchor in the world, and you can feel as though it is your duty to help others, be selfless, and motivate others to success. Find a purpose and run with it. Without it, you'll never reach your highest potential.

I’m actually surprised that someone this bland is giving advice on living life with a purpose. I felt like the author was kind of difficult to follow and some of his answers were a little vague. It just seems like he gave a very general answer to how to live your life with a purpose such as “doing what you need to do”. However, I would have liked to see him go into more detail about what he’s doing or what other people are doing to give themselves and their lives a purpose.

I'll agree with him. I believe it is the little things in life that make you who you are. I heard this quote this morning "Focus on your character not your reputation because it is what defines you, whereas your reputation is what others perceive you to be." This is kind of the same concept. If you focus on doing the little things correctly then everything you do will be correct and not wrong or corrupt.

Beliefs and values are always different when dealing with different people. If you are to follow the rules given, peacefulness will happen. This is true, but I feel that shaking up the business world is a better veiw.

I did not really like this particular video. I found it to be very boring and that the speaker was quite mono-tone and seemed to be whispering. I do agree that everyone needs to find their purpose in life and that everyone should have that one thing that drives them to become successful.

I hate these videos. Very bland. But it ultimately has a good point. Even if someone isn't very religious, this is a good video to determine how you decided to live life. What will you leave behind and how do you know what kind of impact it leaves. The way he describes this is how you handled a life event to begin with and then how you impacted the people involved. I completely agree that the hard part of living the best life possible comes from the lack of conviction and a decision to do so. This is the strongest point behind why people begin with the best intentions and end up in the wrong direction. The conviction behind the moral compass wasn't there to guide them.

I think everyone wonders what their purpose is in life. As a whole, I definitely feel like we are put here to help people that are in need and be as selfless as possible. We are to be a shining light to the world. My mom had read "A Purpose Driven Life" and talks about how great and inspirational it is. When we help others, it just makes us generally feel better about ourselves. Do you want to be remembered as someone who only cared about yourself or do you want to be remembered as a kind and giving person?
