Evolving is an essential part of how our economy grows. He discussed how the kindle worked backwards in creating their product. Although there were many products out there similar to their existing one they found a way to improve and meet their customers needs in a way unlike their competition.

Amazon is the best online seller of goods. They have competitive prices because they have so many suppliers to choose from. But they must keep adapting the the changing marketplace. Eventually they will be selling anything you can think of on their site. This is why they are the leader in online purchases every year.

Very true statement, you must evolve not only in business but life in general. If you don't you will be left behind. There are many companies that have come and gone, because they did not make changes to their product or service. Just because you have a good product in the beginning, you cannot depend on this forever. Things are ever changing every day so you have to change as well to stay on top of the game.

Evolution and innovation go hand in hand. This speaker makes a good point that our business must invent because the customer cannot. Our businesses have the resources to find out what customers need and desire. It would hurt any business not to evolve and adapt to the growing needs of the consumer. Just a glance back in time, we had primitive needs. Now, we desire time and energy. Science and technology work together to bring innovation to our lifestyles and workforce. Without evolving, every business would cease to exist.

Evolving allows companies to remain productive and innovative. This day and age, I do not believe there is company functioning successfully without the help of computers. There are no companies still using typewriters. These companies have evolved and kept up with today's technology. Adapting to those changing and implementing them quickly, leads to increased productivity.

Willingness to evolve is all about innovation, Jeff talks about skills inventory and determining the need of customers and working backwards to get a product or service that fulfills the need. This video was very important to me in that it talks about the general ability of Amazon to shift strategy in accordance with the present need. Innovation I think is a wonderful aspect in business that needs to be managed properly to flourish. Jeff should have expounded more on the need to manage ideas that lead into innovative projects.

When the speaker said you can't be afraid of failure, it immediately made me think of my former boss. While working at the humane society, I was in charge of the fundraising events. My boos would always come up with or find these crazy ideas and I would execute them. All the while, he was never afraid of failure. Most of the time our projects worked, sometimes they didn't. I have always taken his mindset with me because I think it is so important to no be afraid of failure, to push the limits and not be afraid to ask for help.

Fear of failure is what I believe holds most people back from accomplishing their innermost heart's desires and dreams. In order to succeed, we must be willing to fail multiple times. Not a single great innovator has lived life without a few stumbling blocks along the way. We must keep our heads high and consistently reach for our goals. Our world is an ever changing place, innovation is growing at tremendous speeds.

I agree that its not enough to simply invent or simply provide customer service. Business should always strive to improve in every aspect and they should always be willing to fail repeatedly. Thats the difference between a good company and a great one.

Evolving includes failing. The video mentions that you cannot be afraid of failing if you want to evolve and improve. If you do not evolve, then you are ultimately going to put your company out of business. You have extend your business by knowing what you are good at and going bigger with it. Society as a whole is constantly involving, constantly changing and companies need to be aware and prepared to evolve with society and what they want. Customers needs are going to always change and companies need to change also to keep their customers satisfied.

It’s paramount to any company’s success that they change with the times; become innovative. Once customers know what to expect, they become bored and eventually look for a thrill somewhere else. Change up what you are known for. An example is McDonald’s: they have added so many things to their menu and have become so much more than just a place to stop for a hamburger. They have had their fails, or what I would consider a fail, such as the McFish bites. They have also had their successes, such as the McGriddle and McCafe line. You should never be afraid to push the limits, just make sure you aren’t coming a bit too much out of the box. Most people enjoy a new experience.

I believe that this theory is true for any facet of life. Those whoa are not always evolving and always willing to fail will surely be less successful and less able to improve. I like how he talks about how Amazon is using this theory to innovate their company to provide new services.

I completely agree that not evolving is extremely dangerous. We're touched upon the subject a thousand times, but today is an ever-changing, ever-evolving world. Consumers always want something better, something new. Businesses are becoming obsolete due to the hesitance to change their strategies, products, and services. The technology available has completely reinvented the way traditional businesses are run, and if companies do not move with the technological trends then they will surely fail. Failing is not necessarily a bad thing though. Companies need to have a willingness to fail in order to better themselves, but these failures must turn into lessons in order to be productive.

If you are not evolving, then you are complacent. Being complacent is bad for business. Customers are always looking for the next best thing, "you need to invent on their behalf". As a business you need to review your customers and determine what they need in order to satisfy their needs. If you can keep your customers happy, then you will continue to turn a profit and increase the longevity of your business.
