Link #22 Instant MBA Forget about Working of your weaknesses
I never looked at this topic the way Mio describes it. It makes since to try and work
more on your strength then your weaknesses. I believe you still need to work
on your weaknesses but working on your strengths is also very important. She
described weaknesses and strengths like grades in school. You could also look at it
has subjects in school. For example, say you are the best in your class in math, but
you are the best writer. Why would you try and be a great writer and obviously your
calling would lie more on the math side of careers. I should become the best at math
and become an engineer, accounting or financial planner and not try to become a
writer, journalist, or English teacher. Do the things that you good at and succeed in
them.

INSTANT MBA: Forget About Working On Your Weaknesses
I agree and disagree with this article. It talks about working on your strengths over your weakness. In some cases it is better to work on your strengths and strengthen your strengths but I still feel like you have to dedicate some time to your weaknesses as well. You don't want to fall behind in one area and just kill another. I feel like a happy balance is for the best!

Instant MBA: Forget About Working On Your Weaknesses
I do not really agree with this concept. I think that a person should work on their weaknesses, but also should improve on their strengths at the same time. If your strengths are the only thing that you care about and you only work to improve those, then your weaknesses will only get weaker. You have to work on your weaknesses also and improve them. I believe that doing this will improve your business overall.

INSTANT MBA: Forget About Working On Your Weaknesses
This article is flawed in its message. My perception of self-evaluation consists of being honest with one's weaknesses before one can work towards more reliable strengths. This article expresses that working on weaknesses is a constant reminder of what wrong and is not beneficial towards working on what can be improving. Any business person who cannot accept failure as a tool that will benefit them in the long run is not an effective manager of business operation. "A chain is as strong as its weakest link", is the old saying. Therefore a person can only benefit from enhancing themselves through their weaknesses first, and then their strengths can be honestly realized.

This is a very different way to look at business. I don't know if it is a correct way to look at strengths and weaknesses. This is innovative and may in the long run bode well for his business or it may fail utterly. I've been taught to work on everything, strengths and weaknesses equally, not see what my weaknesses are and ignore them. I feel like a business needs to improve on weaknesses while staying strong in what it is they do. You may have bad grades after one semester but if you keep trying the next semester your gpa can be pulled up. If someone has a crack in their armor they don't ignore it they repair it make it stronger. I feel that this is innovative but may end badly.

The article is about placing your weaknesses on the backburner and focusing on what you are strong in. I have to agree to disagree on this one. This could either turn out really great or it could lead to your demise. It’s a great thing to enhance or expand on your strengths but, overcoming your weaknesses makes you that much more of a force to reckon with in the professional world. Why settle for being mediocre when you could be great and well rounded. In my past schooling experience, I aimed to do well in everything and when I was in 10th grade I had this teacher, whom wasn’t that great of a teacher because I wasn’t learning anything. I was barely making the grade and it crushed me because I never failed at anything. I did my best to improve but, I wasn’t content with the outcome. I wish I could have done better. In my career, I intend to thrive on my strengths as well as strive to improve my weaknesses and turn them into strengths.

Okay I disagree with this article. Yes you should continue to work on your strengths to grow, but you also need to know your weaknesses also. Not working on your weaknesses can hurt you. If your grades are an A, B, C, D why would you concentrate on the classes you have an A and B in. yes, keep your grades up, but work on the C and D more. That C and D can bring your GPA down, as well as your business.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Overload Your Audience With A Bunch Of Data
This article suggests that you focus on your strengths and ignore your weaknesses. This is good when its crunch time and you have something specific. However, I also think it is important to take opportunities and improve oneself. Good article, but I believe that one should never become complacent and halt their own growth.

INSTANT MBA: Forget About Working On Your Weaknesses
This article really says alot about someones strengths. Why not grow your strengths rather than your weakness when in a group setting. I wouldnt say forget about your weaknesses so that you can better yourself because your weaknesses are as important as your strenghts. I feel that both strenghts and weaknesses should both be balanced out as a whole.

Instant MBA: Forget About Working On Your Weaknesses
This article brings up an interesting point by not worrying about your weaknesses and instead focusing on only your strengths and making those better. I don't necessarily agree because if you only focus on your strengths, even if they are really good, your weakness may overshadow what you do well. Your weaknesses are important to know and improve on, and often by improving them you will increase what you do well!

Instant MBA: Forget about working on your weaknesses
I do not know if i totally agree with this article. You should always try to work on your weaknesses, they are what hold you back from accomplishing things. Your strengths are already strong and are what got you the success you already have. I can see why you would want to work on them though. I just do not agree that you should strengthen your already strengths.

Recognize what you do well and expand on it. I think I talked in an earlier link on the importance of volume. Expanding on your strengths and growing it to its greatest potential will overcome the weaknesses. Focusing on weaknesses for too long can hurt you because focusing on strengths is what makes businesses succeed.

I have to agree with this article. Focusing on your strengths is a great idea! Knowing what your weaknesses are is a good thing to know, yet you would not want to concentrate on them too long because it could take away from your strengths and cause you to not be at the top of your game. Concentrating on your strengths makes it so you can succeed in what you do best.

INSTANT MBA: Forget About Working On Your Weaknesses
I will take this advice and use it in my career. I believe that tring to build your strnghts to the best will set you apart from the competition. I would hire others who can compliment my strenghts and also look for others who do not have the same weaknesses as mine.

I agree with Basic about concentrating on your strengths. However, if you do not work on your weaknesses, you will never improve. One has to cope with adversity in all walks of life in order to improve. In addition, I agree with Babic in him saying that you need to surround yourself with people who compliment your strengths. Whatever skills you lack in, your counterparts should supplement in and have a surplus of.
