INSTANT MBA: Forget About Working On Your Weaknesses I agree with this article to an extent. Yes, it is very important for us to know what our strengths are and how to make best use of it. We should polish our strengths so that we can set ourselves apart from everybody else. This being said, it is not a good idea to work on our strengths only ignoring our weaknesses. Weaknesses need more practice and we can turn them into our strength. The core idea is we should acknowledge both our strength as well as weakness and make our effort to be better.

Babic's article made me think about my mother and her profession. She teaches gifted students and that's exactly what the gifted teachers do in her parish. When the gifted students are screened, the teachers write goals that focus on the areas of strength. The idea here is that they are trying to help the student reach his or her full potential in their strongest area. If these students learn to do this in school and they follow Babic's advice once they're adults, they may very well be at the top in their field.

Forget About Working On Your Weaknesses
i agree with this article completely. The grade example was a great way to describe the message the article was sending. We do need to work on our weaknesses a little but not 100% because then we will put so much time in something that can in a sense! be a waste. I have a list of weaknesses but I don't look at them because I know my strengths and I work on them to make them even better.

INSTANT MBA: Forget About Working On Your Weaknesses
I agree and disagree with the statements made in this article. Concentrating on your strengths and using them to find the role that you want to take in your chosen career is definitely something that every person should do. But you should not completely ignore your weaknesses and always try to improve them as much as you can. You should concentrate on the weaknesses that hinder you from completing your essential job functions the most. Do not concentrate on weaknesses that will have little to no effect on your work even if you improve them. If you have no weaknesses that affect your job, definitely concentrate on make your strengths even better.

INSTANT MBA: Forget About Working On Your Weaknesses
Many managers focus more time on trying to fix their employees' weaknesses than improving strengths. As this article suggests, it may be more beneficial to focus on fostering what they're good at. This will "differentiate you from the masses", and this, I believe, is the key point here. Emphasizing strengths is the way to success and will be what makes you more successful than other companies. Also, this is a great way to keep employees positive, instead of keeping them down with always reminding them what they need to do better.

Instant MBA: Forget About Working On Your Weaknesses
People should concentrate on their strengths more than weaknesses, because the strengths are what keeps you going and focused. Focusing on weaknesses does not get you no where except know your weaknesses. In order to progress and have high standards one needs to focus on the strengths. One can take from this to try to achieve your strengths and rely on those to let you know where your are with progress.

INSTANT MBA: Forget About Working On Your Weaknesses
I disagree with this article. I believe that I am only as strong as my weakest attribute. I am not saying that a person should not focus on what they do well and try to capitalize on it, but is important to better yourself in all aspects of life. It does a person no good to be the smartest person in the room if they are the unhealthiest. It is of little use to be incredibly strong and unintelligent. Balance is key to being truly successful.

This article discusses how you should improve on your strengths and differentiate from the masses. I think this is good as long as you are aware of your weaknesses and do not let your weakness bring you down or hold you up from progress. If you need to hire some one who has great strength where you are weak would be an asset to moving forward. Just being aware of your Strengths and Weaknesses is key to being successful.

INSTANT MBA: Forget About Working On Your Weaknesses
Mr. Mio Babic is the president and CEO of iStreamPlanet, a successful and innovative live video streaming application. He advises against what a lot of popular opinion has long been. He says that budding entrepreneurs should not work on their weaknesses, but instead work on their strengths. He uses the grading system of school to say that improving your Cs to Bs doesn't do near as much for your company as improving your Bs to A+. This is an interesting method, which he expands by saying you should find others that complement your strengths and align yourself with them, that way your firm is not underrepresented in any necessary functional area. I had honestly never thought about this approach in this way before, but I completely agree. Doing one or a few things better than your competitors will definitely set you apart more than being on par with several of their competitive factors.

INSTANT MBA: Forget About Working On Your Weaknesses
Contrary to popular belief, Mio Babic suggests that it is better to work on your strengths than to worry about your weaknesses. If you devote your time to eliminating or bettering your weaknesses, you may lose sight of what your strengths are. Babic gives an example that your weaknesses may only increase to become B or C grade weaknesses, while your initial strengths may be an A grade, which is what will differentiate you from the rest.

INSTANT MBA: Forget About Working On Your Weaknesses
The principle and method which is presented by Mr. Babic is a good concept. When people focus on negative attributes it tends to bring attention to faults in a depressing manner. No one is perfect and people tend to avoid weaknesses because it is difficult on the psyche. Improving weakness will only bring one's accomplishments into a mediocre range. Yet, as highlighted in the article, if people can focus on what they are good at they can become exceptional. This not only improves outward performances, but increase a person's mental competence as well, lending to better ability to deal with weaknesses.

I definitely think that it is important to focus on your strengths rather than your weaknesses. I like the example that the article gave about your grades. In all honesty, I can say that I do this nearly every finals week. I find what class I have the most potential in with bettering my grade to go to the next letter, and I study more for that class to better my GPA. I think that this could be beneficial if done with the right aspect of a person's career.

INSTANT MBA: Forget About Working On Your Weaknesses we all can agree that when someone ask you about your strong or weakness it always easier to tell them what you are best at or capable of doing compared to your weaknesses that most of the time you have no idea of what they are besides that common one most people have. But i agree with the article why waste time and engery on something you have no control and most likely dont enjoy doing , when you can focus on that task that you enjoy doing and understand what it really is to become better at it.

The concept of this article is something that companies should keep in mind. Trying to improve in too many ways at once can cause the company to get bogged down with trying to do too much. Companies should focus on their strengths and do all they can to make those factors the best aspect of their business and once those are stable. Once the strengths of the company are functioning easily and cost effectively, there is time to focus on weaknesses one by one but, there must be a strategic plan to develop these weaknesses in the best way possible to benefit the company.

INSTANT MBA: Forget About Working On Your Weaknesses
Talking from the business point of view,i totally agree with the author of this article. As human, we all have some kind of weakness and that is why when choosing a partner or an employee to work with you then you need to choose someone who have what you don't have. Focusing on your weakness will only bring you to average.Focusing on your strength will give you some unique advantage. But i also think that you don't need to forget about your weakness, but find someone to work with you who is strong at what you are weak.
