Instant MBA: Forget About Working On Your Weaknesses
I think that this article introduces a theory that is fantastic in the world of business. There is no way that everyone can be good at everything. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. In business it is important to know what your strengths and weaknesses are and be able to maximize your strengths. I agree that you should maximize your strengths. If you work on your weaknesses you may become average at the task but you will never be great at it or become successful. Instead, you should maximize your strengths so that you can become the best at that task and become successful. In business there are so many different types of people. Therefore, you can always find some people whose strengths are your weaknesses and vise versa. Having people that have maximized their strengths and become the best at what they do make a company or business successful.

INSTANT MBA: Forget About Working On Your Weaknesses
The CEO of iStreamPlanet brings up a valid point. Every person has both strengths and weaknesses. Many companies believe you should focus on your weaknesses in order to make them better. At iStreamPlanet they believe to focus on your strengths to make them "grow to their full potential". This suggests that people should stick to what they are good at and learn more about how you can be a better: engineer, manager, or anyone who has a job.

While I do agree with working on strengths that are already known, I do feel as though it is still important to work on your weak attributes as well. I feel as though if you continue to neglect the weaknesses that you have it could be a serious detriment in your future business ventures. I think it should definitly be a joint venture, in that you should work to imporve both your strengths and weaknesses to be able to provide the total package in all that you do.

Babic thinks that if you forget about your weakness and only focus your strengths. He said to only worry about making you strengths better. I personally think if you work on your weakness while improving you strengths, you will be fine. I don't think you should never forget about your weakness and always should try to improve it.

I partly agree with this article. I think it's so important to focus mainly on your strengths and building those up. I believe that everyone is not meant to be great at every thing in business and in life. Instead of getting yourself down about what you are weak at, how about just build up what you are good at? Everyone has weak areas and strong areas, and that is what makes all of us unique and helpful to others. In the work world, it's important to be a compliment of others and help build team work. However, I do not think that you should completely ignore your weaknesses at the same time.

Babic brings up a good point; it is much smarter to enhance and upgrade your strengths than spend idle time working on your weaknesses. Everyone has something they are better at than others. Creating a team based on strengths is a much more efficient way to run a business. When team members know they don't have to worry about working on things they are not good at, and instead, work in areas where they do excel then tasks are much more likely to be completed in a timely manner.

I'm not sure how I feel about the message in this article. Half of me agrees with it, yet the other half of me does not. Weaknesses are what holds you and/or your business back. You will not move forward if you do not improve on what's stopping you from doing that. I do agree that you need to still focus on your strengths to make them even better. The comparison to the test grades has been proven true for me. The classes I knew I had A's in the bag, I focused on to make sure I kept them there. Math was always my weakness so I didn't try as hard because I knew I was never going to excel in that subject. Instead I focused my time and effort on all the other subjects that were my strengths and ended up with A's in those classes.

INSTANT MBA: Forget About Working On Your Weaknesses
Mio made sense by using the grade analogy of why we should work on our strengths. I believe we should work on our strengths and weaknesses. Why work on either or? We should continue to grow our strengths but improve our weaknesses because they could be a major disadvantage one day. Yes, what we do very well will make us stand out.

I can understand where Babic is coming from in this article, however I believe in being all around sound as opposed to completely focusing on your strengths. Yes it is true everyone has their own individual strengths that separate them apart from the rest, but if you solely focus on increasing that strength you will be viewed as one dimensional. However, when he mentions build a team around you that compliments your strengths, I can agree then since in a business you would want people in positions specific to their skill set along with a supporting cast of members who focus on other areas of the job that you cannot.

This article speaks volumes for people who want to start new businesses. People often don't follow through with their business dreams because they feel like they're too weak in a specific area of business and they don't think to find someone who excels in that area to help them establish a business.

Instant MBA: Forget About Working On Your Weaknesses
This is a great theory to follow. Although the main point is true, that you need to work on your strengths more than your weaknesses, you should never let your guard down by not working even a little on your weaknesses. I believe that someone in the business world should be able to perform in all scenarios, and never let your guard down. For example if a manager is presented with a problem that he is not used to dealing with, he should improvise and try to solve it with having the best outcome for the company. The issue of not improving your weaknesses in the business world means a lot more than a letter grade, it will most likely mean a large amount of money lost.

Instant MBA: Forget About Working On Your Weaknesses
I actually really like this article. I think it makes perfect since to work on your strengths and continue to make them grow. It's like looking at the positive side of the situation. Sure there is a negative side, but if you focus on that side you will never be successful or happy. I can relate to this article in ways that are outside of the work setting. Being a pitcher my entire life, I knew from day one that I would not be able to throw the fastest fast ball in the world, being that I was only 5'6. Although I was not the fastest, I had amazing movement on the ball. Instead of trying to gain speed everyday for the rest of my life, I focused on the movement of my pitches and was able to learn 12 different kinds of pitches. Having all these different pitches, I never needed speed because the movement was enough to keep me on top. This article is similar to my situation. Individuals have to work with what they have, and grow to be the best that they can.

INSTANT MBA: Forget About Working On Your Weaknesses
Rather than leaving his strengths alone and working on his weakness, Babic believes the best thing to do is focus on strengths to maximize their potential. Once you maximize your strengths, you can build a team around you who have your weaknesses as their strengths. many people will have similar strengths as you, but many of those people will attempt to focus on their strengths so they become more well rounded. By focusing on what is already a strength, you could gain an advantage. Personally, I feel that focusing on improving weaknesses is a better strategy, though I do find validity in his logic. Better knowing my weaknesses helps me ward off competitors who try to exploit them.

"Forget about working on your weaknesses"
I agree with this article on fostering your strengths. By only fostering weaknesses, you become a mediocre or average kind of business owner. By fostering your strengths, you can separate yourself from your competitors. As the article states, you need to surround yourself with a team that compliments your strengths. You can even learn a few things from these people on how to strengthen your weaknesses, but don't solely focus on that.
