Students, Please view and comment on this link of the day - yes, for your education, but also for the points, of course! Watch the video below: TITLE - Tony Robbins On Hunger, Disappointment, And 3-D Printing Then, post a comment in reply to this discussion thread. Again, what to post? Here are some ideas: + What did you take away from the video? + How does the video relate in some way to your past experience (work, as a consumer, family, school, etc.)? + How might you use these ideas in your own career? Good luck! David

The Hyper-Focused Approach To Balancing Success In Work, Life, Everything
This video was very interesting. Josh Greenwood explains how he thinks and focuses as being a professional slackliner, but what he talks about can be easily applied to life in general. It is important to focus on the present situation you are in, but also important to focus on your main goal in the end result. You cannot get too focused on the end result because you may fail at the task you are trying to carry out. It is important to live in the present and do the best you can do in the situation you are presented with.

I did not know anything about slack lining but it looks really cool to watch. I like the take that he has on what multitasking can entail and how to organize those thoughts into something productive. I wish the video would've been a bit longer with a little more advice.

The Hyper-Focused Approach To Balancing Success In Work, Life, Everything
Focus on where you are and where you want to go. There is something that can be learned by simplifying things and focusing on what you are doing at the moment, while not losing sight of the what you want for your future. This advice is important to keep in mind when you make decisions in your life, regardless of whether it is business related. Focus on the moment and make the right decision, but make sure it doesn't impede your plans for the future.

Sometimes things in life just need to be simplified. This allows a person to focus on just one thing instead of being overwhelmed by many different things. Simplification can help a person not only focus, but becoming more successful because they are able to finish the task at hand...without any distractions. I think if simplifying different aspects of life were done more often, people would feel less stressed and more accomplished.

First the video was very good. It was interesting to watch him balance his entire weight on that little balancing strap. I was very impressed I can't walk on ground that strait. I definitely see the point on focus on what you are doing now and what you want in your future. We have to eliminate the distractions in our life sometimes so we can focus on our deadline.

I enjoyed this video on Tony Robbins. It is evident that everyone these days has hunger. Not actual hunger from starvation, but hunger for something more. Everyone wants to be the biggest and best they can be. Although it seems like its good to be better, sometimes it is important to be satisfied. If you are always wanting more, you are never satisfied. I liked what he said about being a part of something bigger than you. This will pull you to achieve something great that way you are not having to push yourself. When you think of yourself as the biggest thing in your life, it will be hard to acheive greatness. Once you are held accountable for your acheivements, its makes it easier to accomplish them. I also liked what he said about the knowledge we gain from social media. Sometimes its hard for us to be knowledgable about everything. But, if you follow people who are saying stuff thats very enlightening daily, you will be amazed the things you can learn from something as simple as a 160 character tweet.

I have to admit that i really like listening to Tony Robbins publicly speak. He has a gift that not many other people have in terms of speaking publicly. I thoroughly enjoyed this video and the topic discussed, hunger. I agree with Tony when he says that we all are born with some type of hunger and desire to grow, expand and learn. For some people, I find that it takes longer to figure out what they are passionate about.

I agree with Tony Robbins that if you find within yourself to constantly give you are more pulled to do something rather than push yourself to do something. When you’re hungry you want more and want to make a bigger difference. We are born with hunger and with that hunger we can do better for everyone else.

While it is important to have satisfaction in your professional life, I believe it is more important to be hungry regardless of happiness. Maybe I am being cynical, but hunger tends to drive people more, where as too much satisfaction can make people grow lazy. One of my marketing teachers, last semester, told a very relevant story. He picked a few of his favorite students for an interview opportunity at a local company. When they were asked to describe themselves with two words, most had generic responses such as "I work well with others" or "I am organized". The person who stood out the most and was picked for the job was the one who described himself as hungry and greedy for money. Managers want people who are driven to succeed, even if the sole reason comes down to money. I would agree that money isn't the best reason or the only reason, but it is a reason none of the less and in this case drives the student to work harder. Therefore, disappointment and hunger can be strong business assets if they are channeled correctly.

I really admired his passion for life, which in return naturally propelled him to stay motivated. If your business is something your passionate about, then its easy to stay motivated. Key is to find something that matters to you, determine the problem and come up with a simple solution.

I agree with him. I will try not to let dissapointment set in when I fail at trying to acheive something. I believe I am a "go getter" in life and when I want something I go out and get it. I think where there is a will, there is a way. We have so much information out there to better ourselves and you just have to know where to go to find it.

I for one know that multitasking can be a bit overwhelming. Many times, people get so hung up on their dreams that they put no effort in reaching them. In order to achieve your future goals, you have to make the right decisions now. Yes, that's common sense. But many of us bite off more than we can chew, which can ultimately alter our future.
