Using your experience when approaching any situation can help you envision the outcome. Envisioning a given outcome for a situation can help lay out the steps you should use to approach the situation. If you can envision the outcome based off of the decision you plan on taking you can decide if it is worth it or not. The kayaker uses his experience of deciding whether a rapid is "doable" to whether a product line or business situation is "doable" or worth taking on. Using this technique allows the kayaker to eliminate situations that do not have a favorable outcome based off his envision.

I definitely enjoyed the message of this video. I like the way he related kayaking to business and life. One can view a situation and tell if it something achievable or not. If it is achievable they make a plan to achieve it, while taking note of what can go wrong. Figure out to overcome the obstacles and don't dwell on them. This is a really great concept of how to go about achieving your goals.

This video made sense and I certainly see this helping me. Using your experience and knowledge to determine if a task is doable and given time and financial restraints and acting with confidence once the decision is made wise. To many times people waste time and energy second guessing themselves and get little done. By making up your mind, accounting for variables and giving the plan your all will certainly be better than second guessing yourself the whole time. This is true particularly where time is of the essence.

I wanna make a career out of going kayaking. Few funner things than outdoor sports. Plan for the worst and hope for the best. This guy does it slightly different. Acknowledged the worst and plan for success.

Experience is a good thing to have in all aspects of life. It makes things easier to tackle, and easier to finish. You can finish tasks more efficiently if you already have experience in them.

I definitely agree that businesses, managers, and athletes have a lot in common as well as actors and singers. The successful ones all know what it takes to be successful and they do what is needed to be and stay successful. They all have determination and a vision that one day they will be better. They all have a hunger to be better.

Experiences really are the best way to get through challenges. Life presents experiences to us in order for us to learn from them. If throughout your life you aren't presented with any challenges you won''t have any idea how to react or deal with the situation. The more experiences you go through, the more successful you will be in my opinion. Experiences shape you into the person you are and that's important to grow and mature in any aspect. Jobs present challenges for you to learn from them and to become a more successful person.

i liked this video a lot, it was short and sweet. i like how this guy has developed his own way of evaluating the playing field in front of him. one of the biggest assets he has is the ability to shape his environment into what he chooses for it to be. the way he does this is by attacking a wave so that he is on the offense rather than just letting a wave hit him, he hits the wave and in fact does a much better job navigating through rapids than anyone could by taking a defensive approach. awesome parallel when it comes to the business world.

I think that experience is the best way to guide your life. Without experience we would not make mistakes, we would not learn what it is we enjoy or don't enjoy. How can you know what you want out of life if you don't live it? I think that trying new things is the best way to know what we want and it helps us to better understand what we need to do to be where we want to be.

The video had a good message. It is always best to follow a path and to determine is that path in the best interest and is that path achievable. Following a line as he referred to it in the video is good because it allows you to know where your going and helps you plan how your going to get there.

Knowledge is valuable but experiences are invaluable. Knowledge is just information and without experiences to back up your knowledge you never know what outcome your going to get or your chances for successes or failures. You never know whether your going to get the good, the bad, or the ugly. When you only have that knowledge and your missing the experience aspect your thinking about the unknown outcome instead of being able to see the line, see the end result because you've already been there in some kind of way through your experiences. Through our experiences we learn what doesn't work, what works well, what not to do again. So if your experiencing something new then pay attention because you can learn a lot and hold on for the ride because you never know what you're going to get!

Before we accomplish a certain task, we aren't 100% sure we will be able to complete it. If the task seems to be bigger then what we believe we can accomplish then it becomes intimidating. But what brings us confidence is accomplishing challenging things. Once we complete one thing, we are able to believe we can do other challenging things.

Every experience prepares you for a new experience. I believe that every experience good nor bad makes you a more well-rounded person. The more experience you have the better you can make your outcomes by the mistakes you may have made. You can be faced with a situation and already know what to do, just like the guy in the video. Everyone always learns from their past experiences and it helps us to prepare better for the future.

Experience leads to confidence. Confidence is one of the most important things a person can possess as they face new challenges. Learning from your experiences gives you more confidence that you will know how to deal with that challenge if it ever arises again. I like how the video applies experience in kayaking to every day life. I think the challenges that people face in life even outside of the business world can be applied to their professional careers. It is important to learn from your experiences, and let these experiences shape you into a better, more prepared, person.

Comparing work with sports if very smart. We will always have challenges and obstacles at work and in our life that affects our work. It should be thought of as such as drag but like a game that your always trying to win. Keep that winners attitude and you will come out on top.
