There're always obstacles in doing anything, some you can foresee, some simply will surprise you. However, if we stare at them, they will become bigger than they actualy are, and eventually convince you to give up on trying. Having a clear goal, knowing where you are going, don't be afraid of making mistakes or encountering obstacles, as they are only going to make you stronger if they don't win you over, you will get where you want to be.

Experience is extremely important when it comes to dealing with problems. We can all learn things from reading books and listening to lectures, but many things can only be learned through personal experience. I liked this guys mindset too when he said that once he passes an obstacle he never looks back; he looks forward to see what is coming next.

Great tips on staying focused and not allowing the worst case scenario to overtake your thoughts. I have a serious problem with this at times. I get overwhelmed with thoughts of what all could possibly go wrong without even taking into consideration what all could go right if I make the necessary decisions and steps.

I enjoyed this video, it is definitely true that you can concur obstacles by using past experiences that have happened in your life. And it is so important to not look back but to always look forward to your next achievements in life

How Experience Helps Get You Through The Toughest Challenges
Experience are what guides us in life. Rather than just ignoring the past, you should develop from it and grow from everything the past has to offer. This is exceptionally true with kayakers. If you cannot learn a path or understand the flow of water, you are not going to be able to grow in the field and therefore, you will be at a standstill. The will to learn and experience is what keeps the human race knowledgeable.

This I can totally agree with. While on active duty with the Army, I completed basic training which was the worst time of my life. I was challenged in every way possible. Seeing normal people fail and break down throughout the training, pushed me to continue on and make it to the end. Once I graduated, my posture, attitude, and outlook on life had drastically changed. I made it through the toughest training ever, despite folks a lot older and more fit than me, dropping out. So, since I made it through that, I feel as though I can take on anything.

It is very true that athletics relate to business decisions. I never thought about in that respect but he made a good point about approaching something you know you can do with confidence. Business decisions are sometimes made with a factor of major risk ut just like any decision made by an athlete, they are risking everything to reach their goals.

The end product or service should definitely be what drives you in a situation or business venture. The path in which you take can be very bumpy, or produce negative or unforseen obstacles, but that should not wear you down. The comparison of your business activities and a hobby you enjoy is a great one. Whether it sports, or sewing, or playing music, there are always obstacles you need to overcome. By applying the same mentality to a work situation you can make the adventure more understandable and maybe even fun.

I think the video should have gone a little longer. I liked how he connected his evaluation of rapids to how business leaders evaluate business decisions. What I think he failed to talk about was the risk of the unknown especially in business, considering the fact that in business we deal with a lot of factors that are not within our reach. Therefore this makes the situations in business a lot more risky. I would have liked to hear him talk about risk and connecting it to business.

Although this was a very short video, it is a concept we all use every day. In my upcoming professional career, I think my past experiences will determine my future accomplishments. Also I did agree with him about the finish line. If you set a goal to reach a certain point and do it, the next time you will go a little further and so on. This is how you are able to continue to grow personally and professionally.

As a college student I am pretty sick of hearing the word "experience." That word seems to completely void out the thousands of dollars we spend on college degrees when applying for jobs. Of course I do recognize how valuable experience is in a position and one day I will be that experienced person.

I think this is an excellent video that challenges people to think a different way. Many times people are given a task and automatically think negatively about all the obstacles and challenges it is going to bring, but the video is suggesting that if you flip that around and look at the task in a positive light then you are going to more motivated to accomplish the goal. Dwelling on the past can be extremely detrimental. You have to use your experiences, good or bad, to your advantage. If you had a bad experience think about what you can change to make it better and if you have had a good experience, think about how you can improve it to make it even better. It is all about looking at the glass as half full instead of half empty.

Never knew this was a profession. This makes sense to me. I don’t really think it’s a secret that experience helps you with challenges and decision making. Experience is the knowledge/lesson gained from a particular event/act that has either been committed or witnessed. When someone has a bad experience, they learn from their mistakes and know what not to do. When someone has a good experience, they learn what to do, and how they can possibly improve. Basically, this is a well-known fact, but still effective.

experience will get you through almost anything. It is knowledge and also a backbone on how you handle things. When getting experience you learn the best way to do things and what to avoid doing so you mke less mistakes. Experience will make you work more effectively.

I am a firm believer that there is no greater teacher than experience. Dealing with things first hand in the past gives you knowledge of how to solve problems and with that knowledge comes confidence.
