Keeping up with the Kardashians is one of my guilty pleasures. However, I cannot completely agree with everything Kris has to say (especially that their show is not scripted... really not buying that). Though I do not doubt that the girls work hard, they only got their foot in the door for their business adventures because of the original scandals that brought the spotlight on them, such as their lawyer father and released sex tape. Had it not been for this, no one would no who they are. On the other hand, Kris and her girls are business savvy when it comes to marketing and specifically branding. They have indeed created a brand recognized by majority of people. Not only does the family have a brand, but each individual member of the family has their own brand. I will give them some credit on being able to put their name on so many products. These smart branding moves have truly brought them more success than they ever would have had before.

I personally like the kardashians. I think they are great people, yes they are crazy but they are a real family with real problems. In this video kirs shares so much information i think she should get more from daughters but it is family so i feel like they help out each other and also they love with big hearts for what she does for them.

I used to think Kris Jenner was crazy. But she actually has a point and purpose to the things she does. She is advertising her family name pitching their private lives as a business. The show has grown over the years because the show links celebrity lives to the normal family life. Yes they are all famous and on television but they go through everything a normal person would go through. She used the show to market their products and advertise their new or current projects. She used the show to market their brands, increase their popularity, and increase their fan base.

A lot of people have negative things to say about the Kardashians, but I believe we can all agree that they have done well with their businesses. They have marketed their product and family name which has caused their business to grow phenomenally. I think we can take pointers from what Kris Jenner has done, and as she mentioned about Kim taking suggestions from her fans in regards to the packaging of a product. It's all about making the consumer/customer happy.

I personally don't watch this show, but I think it is a unique concept to have a mother managing all of her daughters' business. Apparently some people criticize the fact that she gets ten percent commission on what they do. Kris seems to be doing an outstanding job putting a positive brand on their business and making great money for her daughters. Who else would be able to put all of the love into that work? She deserves that ten percent. I think that the aspect of transparency is what has truly set this family apart from other reality tv shows. Transparency is a treasured trait that isn't seen in every business.

I'm not a huge fan of the Kardashians, however I think that Kris does a great job with the marking of that family. They don't make it easy to manage them with all of the things they get into, but for some reason she is able to keep them all popular. I think the only redeeming quality of them is that they make things that were once taboo more mainstream through their life experiences. Kris is a smart woman. She turned a negative situation into a multi million dollar corporation. There is something redeeming about that fact.

I have never actually watched the Kardashians on TV but I am impressed by the empire they have built. The dedication and innovation it takes to do that kind of marketing is something a lot of companies strive for. They do it well.

Let me start off by saying I have nothing against the Kardashians. I've seen the show before and I find it very entertaining. However, I do not worship or idolize any of them. Kris is right, the show is full of demographics. We've been watching them grow for the past 7 years, unscripted, and it's very interesting. It's a beautiful family and because of this reality show they have grown to become even more famous. It has spread their Kardashian brand in their fashion and fragrance lines and has even allowed them to start new lines with nail polish, home furnishings, etc. It's a family effort and Kris believes that everyone contributes equally. After watching this interview I definitely respect Kris more. So so so jealous of her success.

I didn’t take too much from this video, because I don’t really think that Kris Jenner is the best person to take any advice from. I also find it hard to believe that her show isn’t scripted and planned out. As far as using anything from this video, I can’t really say that I heard anything useful. The only thing of any particular use is that however pointless your business venture may seem to one person, it is successful and entertaining to others. Basically, if you feel confident in your business venture, you should stick with it. Persistence and perseverance are keys to success; if you are willing to exploit your family and self-respect, which is what the Kardashian’s do, then that may help also.

WSJ Interview: Kris Jenner And The Business of The Kardashians
From a business perspective, the Kardashians do a great job of marketing to society as a whole. They have a wide range span of family members that help them relate to more people than your average show. Extending their business to lines of clothing and cosmetics was also a great business move. On the other hand, they have created an image for themselves that cannot be changed. Everyone in the world knows about their personal lives and nothing is kept a secret for long. This can be detrimental later in life as the younger children begin to evolve.

Building an empire on such an open book philosophy has both its pros and cons. The Kardashian family has made many sacrifices to be in the position that they are in today. Kris Jenner has used her business intelligence to give her family the lavish lifestyles they now have. I respect what they do regardless of what other people say. Not many people can be as open as they are about every aspect of their lives as the Kardashian family.

I didn't know what a "Kardashian" was before I saw this video. After viewing it I have a little less faith in humanity than I did 12 minutes ago.

She has definitely made her family very popular 'business" through television. I really don't keep up with the Kardashians but I do believe that every reality TV show can be successful as long as you provide what consumers want. Something interesting and something they can relate to. As far as the Kardashians, I feel they don't work harder but smarter!

This interview gave me new perspective on Kris Jenner. When I first saw who the interviewee was I kind of rolled my eyes but after watching I realized she is such a business savvy woman. Yes her daughters have a talent I suppose but by her decision to put them on a reality show she boosted their careers. I also was impressed by how her two youngest daughters have learned to be responsible through working with her.

I've only been here for three years, so I don't know a lot about the celebrities and their lives. I've heard about the name, Kardashian, in fact, I bought one of dresses from Sears this Christmas, and I like it a lot, not because it's Kardashian's, simply because I like the dress. I understand there're a lot people hate her, what I don't understand is where all the hatred is from. Is it because she is pretty, and rich, and her mother knows how to utilize the resource to make profit? I'm not a fan,but I don't hate either.
