In order to strive in the business world one have to be original in what one does because then it would give you a niche. Instead of having what everyone else has your business can have just that one product or service that no one has and will dominate the market. One has to always be creative and come up with ideas that are for you and everybody else. This could help one to be innovative and not be scared to enter products into the market because you never know until you try.

When you create something that is unique to yourself or your business, it is more memorable. It also makes your product/service more relatable and "real." Being different makes you/your company/product harder to replace. Todays market demands originality and in order to stay in the game, you have to have that unique factor. For example, someone who is mediocre as a worker and works the same as anyone else would, could be easily replaced, where as someone who goes above what is expected, will not be so easy to replace.

Talk about business and in life experience, people do not like a product or someone who is similar with everyone. Be unique in business is a strategy and making it hard to be copied and replaced makes more unique. Being also unique at work will help you, as an employee you need to do things in a way that makes it unique from others, and above all beyond expectation. Employers to see the unique small things you do extra and appreciate and that makes you a unique employee who is not easily replaceable.I have worked with an employee who most often get praise for not doing things like everybody else but doing thing in a creative unique way.

As a business being unique is important. Doing the same thing as your competition you will not succeed in the long run. With a fast past economy and customers always demanding something more advanced, businesses need to be quick and innovative. Being creative is a great quality on any job, sometimes even if things have done a certain way for years, a creative employee can improve those ways of doing, giving the company a more competitive advantage.

This article is just stating the obvious. New ideas or product make more money. Who would not want to come up with an original idea or product. I do like how the article mention to apply it to all aspects of your business. Creating new ways to be creative with your company is a good way to become successful.

Don't Be Another 'Me Too' Player
I feel most companies like to follow other companies just to stay afloat. I do not like that method because eventually they will be eliminated for not being their own innovators. Most people are scared to try new ideas because they don't want to fail, as mentioned in the other blogs. An example would be cars. Every car manufacturer is looking for the next big thing to attract customers. Car headlights can be a concentration on the example; LED headlights are very popular. These lights come in different styles according to car manufacturer. The head lights conserve more energy and have better visual, among many other qualities. You don't see Ford, Audi, Mercedes, and Acura having the same type right? They each are, in essence, the "same" product but delivered in a different fashion. What I am saying is that it is good to have the same "thing" but in a different form which would give the appearance as "different". Sure, they may have different parts, but it's the same product.

I agree, companies need to create their products and services in their own evolution. As much as we hate to admit it, often times we copy things that we have seen succeed. It can be hard to take chances on something new that's never been tried before, but the results can be extremely rewarding. This article says how the world craves originality so that's what we need to focus on. We need to start using creativity in every aspect of our business so we can gain that competitive edge.

Josh covered his idea about being creative rather than doing what is successful, as other companies do, when he mentioned the risk associated to creativity. I believe most companies would like to be creative these days but they do not want to take on such risks or they do not have the proper people. America is such a large country with may culture differences through out the country. I can understand how hard it would be to obtain sufficient data in a costly manner to see if a product or campaign would be successful.

Creativity as a competitive advantage is a great concept! When you're approaching things in unoriginal ways, you aren't going to be seen as innovative and may never get into an untapped market. If you're only focusing on the way things are, not the way things could be you may never know your true potential. As the article mentions, it can be extremely rewarding if you come up with a new successful creative concept that's never been done before. The only way to do this is to keep an open, creative, mind and try things that aren't already the norm.

Being creative and innovative is something everyone stands to benefit from. Far too often we find companies making very similar products and consumers simply go out and buy more than one of basically the same thing. Linkner suggests that companies should create products that can evolve and be creatively new. Companies should break their shackles, endure the unknown, and create products that no others make. By doing so, the companies will earn money and consumer will be able to new products for new uses. I always look for the next big thing. When I walk into a store and see more than three of one type of product, I almost don't want to buy it. Instead of trying to mimic competition,I would invest in creating something that no competition has done before.

Innovation should be the backbone of your business. If you just do what everybody else is doing, then you won't stand out from the crowd and will probably be looked over by consumers. Most people like originality and they look for new products that can give them this and that also are useful to them. Most businesses need to be original. Some businesses that have been in business for a long time have the option of not being innovative. This is because they have been in business for a long time and lots of people use their products. But even these business need to be innovative sometimes because another company can enter the market with a product that is better at doing what the original company's product does and force them out of the market.

Creativity is something that is needed to be successful these days. Companies need individuals who are willing to think differently and try new things. When someone is willing to step out of their comfort zone and try something that no one else has, remarkable things can take place. Being original is something that some may have trouble doing. It takes a lot of courage to be yourself because of the fear of not fitting in. What some do not understand is that sometimes it's not about fitting in, it’s about standing out. To make yourself stand out, you have to take chances that others won't. Companies love having employees that are constantly thinking differently.

Originality is key in business. It could be originality through a product, service, or even personality. Having originality in product or service will definitely help separate you from competitors. Originality in personality will help separate you from other applicants. Like the title of the article states, "Don't be another 'me too' player." Question everything. I am always questioning the management where I work. I question them about different procedures they take, different ways the run the organization, and different ways they think they are helping the company. I don't question them because I feel they are wrong in anyway; I question them to help them think differently about certain decisions they make. I don't want to be that employee that says "Okay," or "Sounds like a good idea," or "You're right."

The article stresses the importance of originality and creativity. Obviously when it comes to product design, you want to use the creativity to distinguish your product from the competitors. But you shouldn't just focus the creativity and originality in terms of product design, but of all the aspects of your business. Don't use the same marketing strategies as your competitors just because you see them being successful. This may be quite a risk to take, but distinguish your marketing from the competitors to help give you an advantage. If it works correctly, not only will you have an original product, but it will stand out more because the marketing is also original. Customers will see this and it should help boost your sales.
