INSTANT MBA: Don't Be Another 'Me Too' Player
A company should always strive to be unique and original to themselves. If you are another one like the rest you will not last. Being creative and unique will help for change and innovation and could create a entire new way of though or action.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Be Another 'Me Too' Player
Originality is what spawns businesses, but for some reason, managers and owners tend to lose the originality and creativity in lieu of safety and conservatism. These managers think that if they take the safe route, the trail worn because of high traffic, the business will live to fight another day. Creativity is needed for product innovation and marketing, but is left out of most other parts of the business. In reality, and according to Linkner’s advice, creativity is how companies keep costs low during downturns in the economy, and keep revenues up during booms. Without originality, businesses become stale and outdated.

Linkner has a great point. Companies should stand out from the crowd and great products and commercials that are different than their competitors. Creativity helps companies become more successful.

INSTANT MBA: Stop Being a Perfectionist And Pay Attention To Customers
I think this goes back to learning from making mistakes and "failing" at first. Instead of trying to be a perfectionist, I think it's more effective to put something out there and learn from the kinks and issues. That way, you can tweak it to work best for what will make you money. Like in this article, they were so focused on their own ideas that by the time they put it out to comsumers, they realized how off they were. It would be better to trip up along the way and learn instead of investing some much time anf then trip up and have to go back.

In todays world being different is the way to go, nobody wants to see something that has been done before so its best to keep your ideas new and fresh. What I got from this article is don't be afraid to be different, it pays to have 'outrageous' ideas. Companies today are showing that they get this concept simply from the commercials we see now on television. An really good example is the AT&T commercials with the children, nobody else has done it and it is hilarious!

Creativity is a big part of competitive advantage. The reason I have been competitive in my post college job search is because I bring interesting experiences (my ccw instruction) to my new career. This outside the norm experience has given me a competitive advantage in my job search. The important thing to remember is that innovation has to be constant in order to remain sustainable for competitive advantage. You can never rest if you differentiate your company based on creativity and evolving products.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Be Another 'Me Too' Player
I think this article brings up an extremely valid point that is not implemented nearly as often as it should be. Originality can be risky, but it is the single most rewarded thing that a company can produce. If your company isn't original there is no way to really differentiate yourself from competitors. Setting your brand apart is what leads to enormous success. While copying others can work for a short periods of time, being original and innovative is what puts companies ahead for the long-term.

A product or company can never get a leg up doing the same thing the next competitor is doing. You must be innovative and some fresh ideas. You can't just on every single bandwagon and mimic every other competitor out there. Going against the grain may backfire on you, but its the only way to really succeed.

You always have to find a way to stay fresh. You want to have something that will set you apart from the competition. Being original helps to foster ideas. When you are able to generate ideas, you will be able to stay original.

I think it's very important to be able to set yourself apart from the competition. You're not gonna do that if you just go with the flow and and mimic what other companies are doing. You need to be your own self and take some risks; these risks don't always pay off but when they do it is very rewarding. Being original is whats gonna take your company to the next level and will allow you to be successful in the future

I don’t think the world has ever craved another “me too” person. Sure it’s easy to take another already successful idea and ride it coat tails to riches but it’s not something that is rewarding the same as an original great idea. It seems really ignorant to assume otherwise.

You must always be original. Don't be the person to just go with the flow. You are always going to have your own opinion and own ways of wanting things to be done, so why not mention them. You will never stand out and be someone great if you are always just agreeing and going along with everyone else.

This is a great article in that it makes readers want to become more creative. There is nothing that can take the place of creativity. Being original while being creative can cause some to go far in life. As Dove did in their campaigns and got great success, being original and creative has helped push their brand to the next level.

In today's society it is important for individuals to feel and look young. Products show off celebrities and supermodels using products, which makes people want to buy them. Who really looks like those supermodels? Most likely 1% of the world. They do not represent the average American. Originality is very important. I believe what the "Evolution campaign" stands for. It "focused on real women and authentic beauty, venturing away from photo shopped images and supermodels".
