I agree that the best and most innovative ideas come from unexpected times when groups of people are allowed to freely think and bounce ideas off of one another. As the speaker explained at the end of the video, it is important for businesses to allow employees to create these ideas freely in an open environment. I have worked in plenty of groups and it is true that the best ideas come from the collaboration of multiples. I can't have all the creative knowledge myself, so why not join the different ideas together?

Long video but interesting. Sharing ideas and collaborating with others is a good way to brainstorm and create new innovations and new ideas.Your friend's stupid idea could be that missing link to an idea you've been piecing together. You have the best ideas in the weirdest places and at odd times.

Sharing your ideas and knowledge can create some of the most profitable moments in a company. An idea is a network. This statement is an example of group work. When you get into a group for a creative process, groups always do a better job rather than individuals. More people have more thoughts that each member can bounce off of. Just like a network. Great ideas cause good innovation.

Sharing ideas and thoughts are always how you venture off into doing something great. Especially when meeting someone who shares the same thought and dreams as you but has a different outlook on it, begins the start of something great. I always would wonder to myself " how did I start thinking about that?" but never would have thought it would have been from that way. This was a great video I would definitely share it with my colleagues.

This video reinforces the idea that not every job can be done at home, specifically the job of creating and inventing. Johnson mentions that the best environments have been proven to be open with input from everyone. Ideas are parts of everything already around you. People need to pull from all that they know, so the more they are exposed to, the more ideas they will be able to think of. He mentions that company’s always say there is a ‘eureka’ moment but fail to mention the amount of time prior brainstorming is spent. The idea of having a coffee shop atmosphere is a great analogy for the type of environment that encourages ideas, and is a lesson that company’s can take with them for their organization.

When someone keeps their ideas to theirselves they are cutting themselves short. If you think of a good idea about something that you think could make your life easier or something that you would enjoy then it is most likely that someone else would benefit from it too. We all have ideas and if it is something that can really work it should be shared with someone you trust and that will be honest with you and see what they think. If everyone kept their ideas to themselves we wouldnt be where we are today and we also wouldnt grow. Everything starts with a idea, even the computers were on right now, but someone made their idea into a reality.

I agree completely agree with this video. I have been doing group projects since I was in middle school and the best ideas never come from one person but a combination of two or three people's ideas. This video shows that throughout history, all of the great inventions and ideas did not come from one single person, but a combination of ideas, even over years. "Important ideas have a long incubation time" - this is probably my favorite thing from the video. As humans, we want things to happen fast...and be perfect the first time. However, if your idea is perfect the first time, then you don't allow it to grow and turn into something else, something that could be better than what you thought.

People are always coming up with new ideas. It only can become reality if you do something with it. That is where most people go wrong. Can you imagine if no one ever put their ideas into play? I really enjoyed this video because I think about this topic all the time.

What an incredible speaker. That message was exactly how ideas are made. They don't just happen on a whim. They are cultivated and grow from other people's ideas. Steve Johnson has an incredible grasp on the inter-working of society and the idea of an idea. We all want to go to the local Starbucks now to come up with the next big idea.

It's important to be open with your ideas. They're probably not going to be the best every time, but you never know when someone else's could coincide with yours. When you bring up an idea it could cause a reaction of collaboration and innovation, and birth great strategies and products. Don't be afraid to share your creative mind!

I really enjoyed this video it shows you not to hold your ideas in, express them let others make them bigger and they could happen. An idea is something that is supposed to be put into motion, so make it happen. Others might have something that you never thought of to add to your idea, ideas should be a team effort. By sharing ideas in the workplace many positive things could happen, first you are communicating with your peers and all of yall are throwing different ideas out. I would say that this is important to a company and to your career. I know from working, that exchanging ideas can lead to great things.

The idea that I am taking from this video is that good ideas are derived from networks of people in one given place. Most good ideas are thought up by feeding off of other individuals. Brain storming as a group rather than just one individual seems to be more productive. In the video he gives the example of scientists developing good ideas in conference meetings of multiple individuals, rather than one individual in the lab working alone. This video gave me a new perspective because I have always been the type of individual to think I need to be completely alone and in silence to work on given projects. Now due to the video I may try to work or brainstorm with some type noise or a person in my presence.

thought this video was awesome, one of the best thing we can do is allow for a good environment to make really good results. most people that are exceptional at something come from a back ground that promotes that activity. nashville makes musicians, the south makes football players, the united states makes amazing basketball players.

I believe this is why some professors make us do group projects. It's also why many projects in the business world are done as a group. When we are allowed to share our ideas with one another, they bounce off of each other and build. I've taken several classes that have taught me the value of sharing ideas. In one of my marketing classes we got into groups and worked on a campaign together. My group worked very well together. We all shared our ideas and the project turned out wonderfully. I thought it was interesting that GPS was discovered almost by complete accident. I hope one day that I will be able to work in a setting that has a team atmosphere. One mind can only accomplish so much, but with many we can achieve anything.

Ideas are based on economics. Ideas are from what is currently available are you. In the business setting, having people surrounding you is the best way to have ideas "pop up" or "come to light". You can have more thought process when you are not divulged into your project. More neurons are moving when you are having fun and being spontaneous. I believe this was the main idea of the video - to expand your ideas and thoughts.
