Ideas are meant to be turned into something bigger. In order for our ideas to grow and develop into something, we have to share them. If our ideas are not shared, imagine where the world would be today. If Newton would not have shared his idea on gravity after the apple fell from the apple tree, we may not know the concept of gravity. If Steve Jobs and Bill Gates would not have developed computers and changed the cell phone technology, we would still be using typewriters and wouldn't have everything that there is to know at our fingertips. Without the sharing of ideas, the world would not be as innovative as it is today. Simpler, yes, but not technologically innovative.

I really like this video. With going to school I keep thinking of new ideas towards the business that I work for. Good thing my mother is my boss and I get to share my innovative ideas to make our business stronger. I never thought about what he mentioned in the video about knowing about your surroundings to incorporate a better idea. Some places would not do well with certain inventions but with tweaking the idea you can come out with a great product. i think good ideas come from daily activities and cultural experiences and knowing what people need and want.

An idea is a single thing. Sharing ideas is a successful way to create better products or improve what is already created. It was interesting to learn about the incubator made of car parts in order to continue to use it if it broke. It is important to be adaptable and change an idea to fit the needs of others. A simple idea can turn into something big such as the scientist learning where sputnik was which allowed them to discover the GPS.

This video makes you think about your ideas and how you just need a little creative and a little insight, look what you can do. I like the theory of the liquid network. Working together on an idea. Because a group is more powerful then one person. So if you have an idea do not let go of it even thought it might be the "ah" moment or it might me be the slow hunch.

This was a very informative video that emphasized the importance of collaboration between one another to bring about an important resolution or idea. Sometimes individuals want to hold on to their ideas because they want to be acknowledge for their innovations or suggestions. But sometime two brains are better than one, and this video clearly proves this.

It's interesting to me that he tied the intellectual change in England to the introduction to coffee shops. I agree, as I am in one now, that coffee shops are the best places to study and learn as you are surrounding yourself with people who are also learning and thinking. He said that chaotic environments bring more inventive results. The idea of a liquid network is very cool; a group of people throwing ideas around and coming up with solutions for their mistakes.

The video introduce the importance of the process of how to develop ideas and how to nurture that system. Moreover their is no correct way to come across an idea. Some ideas do come from some type sporadic revelation and most come from research and development. When people can get together and say things around and feed off one other that is a great way to create ideas. Working in teams to create ideas can be beneficial to all industries. Also the fact that most of our ideas take time to be developed and is not just some epiphany is something that everyone should realize. So everyone should give the idea time to grow.

Some ideas take a long time before they actually become reality and innovation requires a mind that's willing to continue despite the naysayers. Sharing of ideas creates knowledge and with technology products and services are developed. Efficiency is as part of innovation as uniqueness and both should compliment each other during the process of coming up with something new/innovative.

Where good ideas come from was a great video. Sending incubators to Africa is obviously a risky thing to do. They made a great point on how and who will fix it when it needs repairs. Building one out of car parts was such a great idea! Using what you have and what you know will get you what you need!

During this video, I compared his idea of networking with business networking. The purpose of networking is to meet new people who can help you whether it be at your current job, finding a new job, or finding new ideas. One person has a very limited view on a subject, but with other people's ideas it causes the idea to expand and reshape and grow into something extraordinary. As miserable as working in a crowded office would be, he made a good point in that forcing people to work in close quarters would force us to talk, in turn allowing us to share ideas directly.

I enjoyed this video. I think we can actually relate sharing back to a very young age. We are taught since we were in preschool that sharing is whats best. That is a lesson that I think we can use in every day business. As seen in this video, sharing ideas leads to some of the most successful events. Everyone may have their own little idea and if you share it, you can put your ideas together and make something great! At the same time, you may share your ideas and they get shut down. But hey, if you dont try, then you wont know!

Although there is a part of all of us who want to keep our GREAT ideas to ourselves, that is not the smart thing to do. When you share your ideas with fellow employees, your ideas can be expanded and developed into something that you could never do solely. Everyone thinks a little different, and can offer a particular idea much growth.

This is why you should surround your self with people who are smarter and more successful than your self. It can help you to come up with new great ideas. Sharing your ideas with people is not a bad thing. It is actually a good thing, even though you may not have every aspect figured out. However, someone else may have the missing link to your idea.

TITLE- Steve Johnson: Where good ideas come from
I liked this video. It is an interesting perspective on intellectual property and how it can evolve. Getting peoples input is very valuable especially with new ideas. When I come up with good ideas I always run them by others because they may critique it in the slightest bit but then it becomes a great idea. This is a great lesson for managers to brainstorm for new ideas and create successful innovations.

While I agree with the article, I believe it fails to point out the negative impacts of group environments such as groupthink. Groupthink occurs when most individuals, inside the group, conform to a collective group mentality or consensus. In short, it is when all members agree too much with each other, ruling out creative ways of thinking. It kills critical and analytical ways of thinking which would normally take place when group members challenge each other's opinions. To summarize, the article provides a very modern take on old ways of thinking in regards to ideas. Crafting ideas proves to be a long and careful process best sped up by social and group interactions, so long as all group members add value and stimulation to the group.
