This video was very interesting! Variability has become one of the most important things in developing new products. It's true that people don't know what they want; how could you want for something that you didn't know existed? There is no single product that will satisfy everyone because everyone is different. People have different needs and wants and this extends farther than food. Each person needs different things in their lives emotionally and physically to stay happy and satisfied in their life. Knowing these things is how industries can stay on top of their competition and succeed in business.

I found a lot of what Bob Ross's little brother said to be very interesting. I had never really thought about when exactly the food industry started giving their customers more choices, but it was interesting to see that it all started with Prego spaghetti sauce. I also thought it was interesting that they discovered that people often don't know or will never tell you exactly what they want. The diversity of human beings should be embraced, and nothing is really universal.

This video was a bit lengthy but I feel as if the speaker did a great job of illustrating how embracing variety allows us to truly be happy. He made it a point to tell all about how a man named Howard revloutionized the way in which companies marketed and sold their products. In accepting that there is no such thing as the best of any product companies made millions from giving consumers a variety.

Never limit the options for customers, because a lot of times, customers don't even know what they want or need until we present it to them. It's like iPhone, customers didn't think they needed an iPhone until t was available in the market. There is no such thing that everybody wants. I remember my mom always complained how hard it was to make a meal that everybody would enjoy for the family.

This speaker is great at what he does! He breaks down lingo that most people would understand if he didn't and makes things easy to understand. I believe that as consumers although we didn't have a preference beforehand, that having multiple choices can help us develop a preference and make a decision on a product that best suites us as a consumer.

Well thank you Howard for all the variety we have today. Im not sure what i would do with without all the choices on the dollar menu. But for realz i do know people who still think there's only one way to do things and they will argue with you.

I thought that the video was interesting. He took basic business and data concepts and broke them down to the point where they are easier to understand. Thank you howard for giving the food industry a different way at looking into what consumers want, and for chunky Prego spaghetti sauce!

Understanding what customers want is very impotent. Businesses try and promote products that are saying they are better than others when in fact they have no strategic qualities about them. Customers need to understand what they are looking for and know which products are gimmicks or the real thing to complete the task.

I liked this video a lot. It was very interesting. He talks about how the different companies went to one man to get help in their business. He was able to listen to what people wanted, and make different types of sauces or drinks. He didn't just sit them down and listen like the companies were doing at first, he made them try different spaghetti sauces, and changed the way they thought about sauce. This is a good thing to keep in mind in the business world. Sometimes people don't know exactly what they want, or they can't put it to words.

This video was long however quite interesting. Because all people are different, one product will not satisfy all. Testing products with real consumers is probably, in my opinion, the best way to obtain both positive and negative feedback. Which then gives companies the opportunity to make changes and provide a product that consumers want. Product diversity gives consumers the option to pick the product that suits their needs and preferences.

Though this video is rather long it is very insightful. I find Dr. Howard's take very unique its like an epiphany. As humans as employers we all strive to find perfection not realizing our perfection is not real. Our perfection is what our own mind has created, everyone will not share the same views. employers look for the perfect candidate opposed ti the perfect candidates, for instance when developing a team to do research or anything of the sort many times it is overlooked that you need more than one type of "perfect" intellect you need several different minds from different walks of life. I believe this is why companies like Apple or Microsoft are able to be successful they aren't looking for clones. As individuals i think it is important to realize that you don't have to mimic someone to be perfect because someone may be looking for your "type" of perfect, uniqueness and variety will always be desired.

Customers are individually unique and different, so it is nice to see that companies are making products to accommodate this instead of having one product for everyone. Companies have to listen to what their consumers want and make their products accordingly.

I like this video because it shows that there is no such thing as one prefect thing. People are very confusing and need more then one type of food or flavor, to eat taste and to experience. There experience is rated and others try, i think experimenting is the best why with food.

I found the video to be very interesting and informative. Howard, who invented spaghetti sauce, worked for multiple companies and was doing research on each experiment. He took basic business and date ideas and broke them down to where they were easier to understand. People are given many options when buying a product or service. By analyzing the data, it will help you understand why someone would choose a certain product or service over the others. When he was doing his research he had to figure out which one worked best for each company and used it to make the company better.

I really enjoyed this video, and my first impression of Gladwell was that he was a little weird. I feel that I personally do not fall victim to the fancy ads of new products on Tv. I don’t understand how people can hear the company say something like “best new product out!” and actually believe the obviously biased statement and then go out and buy the product. I prefer to do my own research on new products and only choose to buy a product that I find is most useful for my purposes, regardless of which company states that they are the best. Overall, I found Gladwell to be an excellent speaker, and hopefully one day I could hear him in person. You could tell that the audience really enjoyed his speech.
