A true leader is always open to help and give advice to employee's. Leaders shuld also be open to taking advice. Employees want to get direction from their leader, and know that the leader is there to help if needed. Employees should be able to handle the tasks that the leaders hand out and not consistently hassle the leader with repeat questions. A great leader knows his team members and which one is better suited for certain tasks and knows how to direct them in the right direction. Leaders should also be able to motivate and excite their team members for tasks.

Being a good leader is being able to push people beyond their limits in order to create something greater. The whole point of being a leader is bringing people together in order to do something that one individual couldn't accomplish on there own. In being a leader you need to be firm and consistent because people don't follow hippocrates. That being set don't set yourself up as and unimaginable icon. People will come to test your character and if you let them they will break you.

people want community, authenticity, significance, and excitement. i can vouch for this i have been a part of a group where i failed to receive just one of these aspects and i couldn't continue with that group. i no longer had a why behind the what and i found myself looking for a way out. i think mainly it was the community aspect that i fail to get in on. overall this was pretty insightful. everyone at some point or another has to fill the role of leadership. another huge part of leadership is responsibility. i think that people can lead someone that doesn't take full responsibility for their actions 1 and 2 for problems that need their attention. i liked how he said that leadership is just an authentic role fulfillment its not about anything formal usually leadership is something that comes naturally.

In addition to the four bullet points, trust certainly is key. Leaders who demonstrate the four bullet points are certain to gain the trust of employees and have greater influence over them. This video is helpful in bringing a new perspective to the table to managers. That is, the perspective of the employee. I think that by taking this stance leaders can do more than just manage the workforce but inspire them to excel and enable the company to thrive.

Im pretty sure these are some of the main aspects of a leader that people want. This video doesn't include all of them, though. Regardless of the organization people are going to want different things from their leader. Also depending ont he situation, they may want something different all together. This is why the best leaders are flexible and can adapt to whichever circumstances they find themselves in. Being able to move with the given situation or specific group of followers will determine how well they can actually lead.

The video brings up a good point in asking what characteristics make a successful leader. It seems that through the process of becoming one, leaders gain the necessary traits that make them successful and makes it easier for people to follow them.

Trust in business is so important. Trust and great leadership. I had a boss who I did not trust. I also did not agree with how she ran the business. I worked there for a year, and I watched one by one her workers quit. They could not stand working for her. I saw workers who had been there for several years quit. She even hired someone who was a friend in need of a job. Her friend said she could not stand working there under her leadership. The remaining employees, myself included worked very hard to please our boos, but we never felt appreciated or even noticed. This left us feeling like giving up. What is the point of trying? This taught me how very important it is to be a good leader. Being a great leader towards your employees and gaining their trust will leave you with a better business in the end. Your employees will work hard for you because you have made them feel like what they do matters.

I totally agree with effective leadership, it helps managers improve. I recently been promoted to front end manager my main goal was to get cashier feedback. Getting this feedback allowed me to know the strengths and the weaknesses of the front end.

I believe that this video is very accurate. People want to feel like they are part of a community, be authentic, significant, and to have excitement. Anyone can lead but it take someone to do all of these things to become a very good leader.

Leaders .... you had one job.... of many, but most important to choose our way of living. In reality that's what kings did appoint people to come up with ideas that the people wanted to be heard. Those ideas today or lost, there is no longer ideas of people but ideas of cooperation. You want us to trust you but your laws dont reflect justice but a idea of what once was once. There are to many unwritten rules and laws to trust people who speck in code (politician), and why would u trust people who speak in code?

Trustworthiness is a big deal for a leader. Not trusting who is leading you creates problems in every area such as our government. Many people don't trust our government and they start to protest against the decisions they make causing an uneasy environment for our country. Everyone wants to see success and exceptional performances in business. Leaders should be trustworthy, excited about what they do, authentic, and appreciative of what their team and business partners accomplishments, just as he said. Leaders have a lot of great qualities and that's what makes them good leaders. I would show this video to someone recently accepting a leadership role because I found it motivating and enlightening.

I think what makes managers effective and what people want from leaders changes from time to time. Personally, I think that different generations want different things from their leaders. I think this video sums up what is wanted by the current working generation, but it could be different for the next generation. People's wants and needs change depending on where they are in their life. For example, the incentives that people want have changed since the baby boomer generation. Boomers tended to want more pay or some other cash incentive, while the current generation wants more experience-related incentives (time off, vacations, etc.).
