Being a leader is taking on a lot of responsibility. Leaders must set the tone for whatever they are over. This video really pointed out some key things that followers should expect from their leaders. These are some major points that generally cover a leaders responsibilities. Leaders have to be able to pull out the best in their followers, which come by different approaches. For the most part I feel as though everyone in an wants to feel some portion on community and appreciation. Another point that I found to be most important was exceptional leader inspire exceptional performance. Which relates back to leaders setting the tone for the workplace.

What people want from leaders in my perspective depends on the situation at hand. People love community, authenticity, significance and excitement but if a leader is not effective during a crisis or when the opportunity arises. Then in my opinion their leadership skills are considered a failure at that particular time. That is because the culture we live in is all about the "now" factor, not a lot of attention is given to a leader's past performance if they under perform presently.

What people want from leaders is performance during a time of need, a lot of times our culture uses these times to evaluate leadership performance. The speaker talked about community, authenticity, significance and excitement. One thing I learnt from the speaker is the aspect of effective leadership and how it has to have the capacity to transform and enrich people's lives.

I couldn't agree with this video enough; I believe it touched on all the big characteristics. It basically boils down to employees want to be noticed and taken seriously. They want their work to mean something and be noticed. I fully intend to take these characteristics and add them to my management skills. My goal as a manager is to be open, understanding, friendly, and approachable, while also having my dedication to the company/organization as a first priority.

The growing trend of mistrust in the workplace is sad. The lack of trust between employees and people in positions of power have an effect on the employees and their productivity. A good manager should be able to bring out the best in the people who work under him/her. Happy workers are productive workers. All employees want to feel like they are a part of something. By building a sense of community in the workplace, a manager is not only making employees happier they are building a sense of loyalty to the company. A manager that is authentic with the people he/she supervises will be seen as being more trust worthy. Employees want to feel like they are an important part of the day to day procedures. An employee who feels significant to their company will be more loyal to that company. Managers who create excitement in their employees will also find that their employees are happier and more productive. I agree with the video's summary of the 4 things that employees need from their leaders.

This video is very realistic on the issues we have with leadership today. I think the number one issues that arises is trust. Without trust, nothing can be accomplished. You feel like you cant talk to your higher ups, because they may judge you, or maybe spread the word when it was asked to be kept a secret. If trust and respect is gained, everything trickles down from there. So many leaders just want the title but dont realize the impact that they have on the company, as well as their employees. Community is also another huge aspect. Everyone wants to feel involved. If your leader is not allowing you to get involved, then you lose the drive to want to improve what youre working on. The second that you feel like you can make the difference, is when your hardest work is put forth.

This video explains what every employee wants in a leader very clear. Working at a business with a community makes it more personal and fun to go to work. Authenticy is important because the business will be more sucessful whenever the employee and employer believe what they are selling is the absolute best. Felling significant helps a employee thrive to work better because they know they matter and make a differnce. last but not least, excitement makes work enjoyable and not just the boring job that helps you get by. These four things are very beneficial for a leader to have to run a successful business and it will have a major postive impact if they do.

Leaders today are not effective because they do not listen! You have to follow in order to lead. Leaders are not asking their followers what they want and they are pretending to act on their behalf. The lack of authenticity in todays leaders is what is leading to the lack of trust and ultimately some of the worst leaders in history. Leaders don't understand the impact that their actions can create because the impact will not apply to them. In short, today's leaders are selfish and short sighted, thinking of only themselves and their immediate followers instead of the good of the masses.

I really liked this video this guy really understood on what people want in their leaders. hE IS SO RIGHT WE DON'T TRUST OUR LEADERS THAT'S WHY ITS IMPORTANT FOR NEW GENERATION OF PEOPLE TO BE BETTER.Great leaders need to be effective and perform in exceptional performance. Business can not survive with out great leaders. being a leader is not being on top anymore, you have to work at hard at being great . I like how he picked the main things what community work together as a team. authenticity and significance and what that i probably didn't think would be on the list is excitement. I love how he put it as.....authentic Skillful role performance. I what a leader is. While watching this I took into account the way I perform at work. I think I am a good leader and I think there are some things that I can improve. Which I shall.

I found it quite interesting that of the 1000 people polled, the same four answers were consistently given. Those who are in positions of power should realize that their job title alone does not mean that they are an effective leader. A truly effective leader must possess the qualities discussed in this video or I think it is inevitable that employee performance will falter and the business will falter as well.

This video talks about the problem our society has with trust. Among not trusting lawyers, etc., many people do not trust business leaders. This is a major problem. As an employee, how do you work your hardest for someone you do not trust? You don't. I like that this video made the point that in order to be a good effective leader, you have to know what the people want, whether they are employees or customers. I agree with the four things that people want the most from their business leaders. People tend to be happier and work better if they feel like they are part of a team, part of a community. They also like to know that their leader is authentic; that they truly believe and are practicing what they preach. Employees also like to know that they are making a significant contribution to the company. It also helps make working a lot easier if they work in an environment that is filled with excitement.

What i took from this video is that people want a leader who knows what they do and who they are. Everyone wants to be recognized for hard work that they put into a company. A leader should be someone who knows the employees and knows what they do, a leader is not just someone who sits up in their office and makes decisions without even being down on the floor. This video relates to me in the way that i know from experience about having a good leader. When my boss/leader has to make a decision or wants to promote something new, he comes down to us employees and asks if it would be a good idea or take our input. I would definitely be a leader who knows who is running my business and would relate to my employees.

What people want from a leader include community, authenticity, significance and excitement. leaders are in my opinion more effective when the situation that requires their leadership action. The problem is that a leader can have numerous characteristics that can be considered as good leadership qualities but if a situation occurs that requires a certain aspect that they lack. Then they might be considered as ineffective, the video hits on a lot of good points but I would add situation to the mix just because every leader has a 'moment' that requires a certain reaction. These moments are never the same for all leaders, therefore I feel like considering the situation at hand must also be of significance.

I found this video interesting because it just goes to show where leadership has gone the past few years. It's disappointing to hear that people aren't happy with their leaders. A leader should be someone you look up to, someone that points you in the right direction and helps you to improve on your work and yourself. I can say that I have a great boss and truly enjoy my job because of the relationship that I have with her.

There is no doubt that as a worker I would look up to my boss more if he/she followed the four steps. It always feels good to be part of a community. Plus having someone authenticate your job feels good. Everyone is looking for some significance in their job whether they are saving the world or not. And excitement? Having an excuse to get out of bed and calling it work sounds like a good future to me.
