INSTANT MBA: RIM Founder Explains What Makes Tech Companies Great
Good article. Although we are taught the specifics in school, we should never forget the most important aspect of business: people. Without good employees and loyal customers, the company would have no meaning and ultimately wouldn’t exist. Unfortunately some of the most important elements of doing business can’t simply be taught and I guess that’s what makes some people stand out more than others.

INSTANT MBA: RIM Founder Explains What Makes Tech Companies Great
The foundation to any great business is it's employees. An entreprenuer could have a great idea, and execute it properly, but if he doesn't have a loyal and determined employee base with the same goals, the business could fail very easily. I saw an example of this happening in my first job where the supervisors and managers did not have the business owner's best interest in mind, and ultimately caused the business to fail after only 3 short years.

Instant MBA: RIM Founder Explains What Makes Tech Companies Great
This article has it all figured out! I think that the success of a business lies in your employees, and if they are happy so will the customers! Having employees who believes in what your business does, and are excited to come to work, to help customers, and to go above and beyond will make your business different from others. It does all start with you and your leadership and enthusiasm for the business, it will positively affect others around you.

INSTANT MBA: RIM Founder Explains What Makes Tech Companies Great This article made a great point when it said be enthusiastic from the time a potential employee sits down till the time he leaves. If I was applying for a job that I was going to working at for years I would pay close attention to whoever is over me. If he or she is laid back an unconcerned about where the company is headed then I probably would act the same when I’m hired but if he or she is full of energy and is excited to have me join their company then I would work my hardest to not disappoint

When Mitt Romney said "corporations are people" he was vilified, but just like that comment, this article points to the fact that every business has to have great people. Great leaders attract great people, and great people run a great business. I have had the opportunity to review many instructors for the possibility of working for me, and every one of them has said "I love your course because I love your drive and your vision." Without these things, I could not attract good people, and I could not run a good client based business.

Alt link 17: INSTANT MBA: There Are 4 Big Ways To Effect Change In Your Company
The four E's: engage, educate, encourage, enforce. Leaders can engage others, educate employees, encourage them about the future, and enforce the standards set for the company. I find it funny that a guy named Elliott, whose last name starts with an "E", can up with a clever neumonic device liek the four E's. I think that may have been on purpose.

INSTANT MBA: RIM Founder Explains What Makes Tech Companies Great
This article makes a point that, as stated by the author, applies to any business. People/employees make a company. It doesn't matter what the company's philosophy is, or the vision that the owner has for the business. If you do not have the right employees working for you, your business will reflect it. I will not return to a business that I have had a bad experience with the employees. I feel if the owner doesn’t care enough about their company to let people like that run it, then they will not get my money.

INSTANT MBA: RIM Founder Explains What Makes Tech Companies Great
Tech companies are the same as regular businesses. Customer service is the main reason anyone stays in business. At the end of the day, your customers will always to go the competitor who has the better customer service than you do. But also having good products to offer will help out the situation. If you have amazing customer service but your products break quicker than the competitor, your customers are likely to go to the competitor anyways. Having an even mix is the key to success.

INSTANT MBA: RIM Founder Explains What Makes Tech Companies Great
It is very important that all employees feel one with the company they work for. It is important they know what goal they are working for and know why things are done the specific way they are required. These things are important because if every employee feels like they are part if the future of the business and shares the vision of the business, they will perform better. I work for raising canes and as a manager, we are taught to share the why behind every decision that we make. We are required to show each crew member a video during orientation that shared the history of he company as well as the mission and the vision. We strive to make every crew member feel as if they are part of the bigger picture so that they can share the same vision as the management team.

Tech companies need the same as any other company to be successful. The people are the most important part of a business. People meaning employees and customers. Like its says in the article, "when your employees are happy, so are your customers." Make your employees comfortable and welcome. This is formed by having a strong leader that help guide employees in good directions and then in turn they are happier. A healthy, happy business environment is very important in business but definitely in tech companies.

All companies start with people but it's the great people that bring it success. I believe it starts with the leadership and trickles down. A great leader brings enthusiasm which creates a great environment to work in. Building a great environment makes employees happy which in turn will make the customers/clients happy and want to return.

INSTANT MBA: RIM Founder Explains What Makes Tech Companies Great
Inspiration makes tech companies different from any other company. Companies look for people who are enthusiastic and willing to go above and beyond to provide the very best to the customers. If customers are happy then the business is doing something right. For example, when I walk into Best Buy a worker asking if I need help always greets me. The workers who work for Best Buy are very helpful to the customers. The more the customers are happy the more they will come back to the business.

INSTANT MBA: RIM Founder Explains What Makes Tech Companies Great
Of course people are the soul of any business. One line in this paragraph really resonates with me. "If employees are happy, then your customers are happy." That is just beautiful. In my experience, employee happiness is key to any success. There does have to be a balance though, because if an employer is only focused n employee happiness, he,ll soon be working a three day work week and paying six figures to everyone. But, if an employer is attentive to the needs of employees, that will translate from him and from employees to the customers and it will equal pretty big success.

This is really business 101... The product isn't what makes a business successful. The people, the management, the attitude, the customer service. All these things are truly what give value to a business. It goes back to the old saying, you can sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman white gloves if you can convince her she needs it. If you can give real value to customers and let them know they rely on you, you will always have sales. The most valuable asset to a business is the people.

INSTANT MBA: RIM Founder Explains What Makes Tech Companies Great
All companies should have “visionary leadership that can attract and inspire dedicated employees” that believe in the company's purpose and should want the company to be successful. If the people within an organization don’t believe in the quality of the program then they are not going to be excited on selling or working for the company. I don’t know of any company that would continue to purchase services they are not satisfied with. Especially when it comes to technology services.
