It is always great to get advice from others but to much can be overwhelming and can make you maybe try something that you are not comfortable about. I think that he is right when he says to follow you instinct. This is true for life in general but also true for running a business. You have to know what you want and how you want your business to be run. It is great to have advice from others but you have to take it with a grain of salt and decide what is right for your business.

INSTANT MBA: Listen To Everyone But Don't Take Advice From Just Anybody
Nice short article. I think if you’re confident enough to open your own business, you should be able to do what you feel is right and take other’s opinions with a grain of salt. If you ultimately make a bad choice, you learn from it. If you automatically do what someone else tell you to do, you’ll be left with the “what if” feeling of wanting to do things the way you intended.

INSTANT MBA: Listen To Everyone But Don't Take Advice From Just Anybody
In my experience, I've noticed that everyone will tell you their opinion of what you're doing with your life and your decisions. As helpful as some people have been, if I would've listened to all of them, I would not go anywhere in life. Many people have contradicting advice and some try to tell me that I am going to hate the feild I have chosen to pursue, but the few I've talked to who are in the feild love it. I just have to remember that everyone is different, and I can always thank people for their input, but I cannot take everyone's advice.

Instant MBA: Listen to Everyone, But Don't Take Advice From Just Anyone
Advice is hugely important. I mean, everyone could potentially have one little thing that you may need in your business. And everyone is more than willing to give their advice. The beauty is that you have the ability to only do or only listen to what you want to. No matter how many people telll you what you do, you can still only do whatever you want. This characteristic is one of the most important things that a business person can do.

INSTANT MBA: Listen To Everyone But Don't Take Advice From Just Anybody I think this is a great article because almost everyone can relate. Listening to other people may be good at times because you can get some great ideas or thoughts out of it but it’s not so good to always take their advice. Everyone has a different opinion and viewpoint toward things so if you ask three different people about the same topic, you will most likely receive three different answers and that can be confusing. The best thing to do is take their ideas into consideration but in the end go with what you think is best because it’s your business.

Listening to the wrong person can be very detrimental to your plans for the future. It can prevent you from expanding when your heart tells you to be aggressive, or it can paralyze you because an expert said "ride it out, it will be ok". I have heard advice from many many people both in my industry and in general business, but I take only those few things that I think are valuable. In the end, the ones giving advice aren't responsible for the decisions made in the company, I am. My opinion matters most, and is really the only one that counts. If I think a person is going out to left field, they better have some serious evidence to back it up or I'm disregarding their advice.

Joel Bomgar is very wise to realize that you shouldn't take everyone's advice. It is great to get as many opinions as possible, especially when you are taking on such a big risk, such as opening a business. But it's also important to know who's advice you should take, especially because a lot of people are quick to give advice when they actually have no experience in the area. You have to pick and choose which advice is good advice so that you can ensure you aren't letting someone lead you in the wrong direction.

Alt Link 16: INSTANT MBA: Turn Your Community And Your Clients Into Stakeholders
For the most part clients are already stakeholders in your company. They rely on the product or service you provide, and if your company fails they no longer have you as a resource. If your company grows then the customers benefit from new technology and lower costs.

INSTANT MBA: Listen To Everyone But Don't Take Advice From Just Anybody
I like the advice given in this article. This reminds me of raising my children, everyone was willing to give advice on how to raise them, whether they had children or not. In the long run you can listen to the advice of others but it is your own intuition that will tell you what is best for you and your family. The only difference is that, in this case, your baby is your business.

People are very relaxed and feel like it benefits then when others make the decision. But who takes the blame? Not your coworker, but you. You take all the blame when something goes right or wrong. So why can't we use our best judgement and work around the kinks in everyone else's plans? Leaning is making mistakes. Take a risk and make your own choices!

Getting advice from people is never wrong; it's the advice that you use that can put you in trouble. When taking advice, hear people out and take all that you can in. People have some good insight, especially those who have been in your same shoes. With that said, make sure you listen to yourself first. People can tell you what to do all day, but when you put it into action it is then your decision made so make it a good one. You can only blame yourself for something so choose what advice you use wisely.

this is a lot like the last one we read. Again know that you never know anything and that hearing what other peopel think about what it is your involved with can always help. Even if they are not giving you advice that will revolutionize you product you will at least know what this person thinks about your product. It may even open your eyes to new dimensions of whatever it is your dealing with.

I feel communication is big with owning a company, this includes listening. Listening can be a benefit. You don't have to take a single piece of advice but you certainly can pick and chose parts to put together. My mother in law had her own company and would make it a point to communicate and listen to her competitors. This helped her gain insight on what could help her succeed and worked.

INSTANT MBA: Listen To Everyone But Don't Take Advice From Just Anybody
Being a good listener is always a good thing, but just because you listen to what somebody says doesn't mean you have to do what he or she says. It's polite to listen when people talk to you. Good listening skills can help you in your everyday life, however you need to know when to listen and when to act. Don't take advice from just anybody. Not everybody has the same ideas, and their advice may be good advice for them but bad advice for you. Be smart when taking advice.

Advise can be very helpful. But as we all know not all advise is good advise. It seems like everyone has something to say. But in my experience I have witnessed people intentionally giving bad advise or misinformation to try and throw someone off their trail. Some young business owners are like information sponges. Taking in everything they hear good or bad. Inexperienced owners most likely will have a hard time separating the two.
