It seems that it is harder and harder to be a small business owner today with so many large corporations that are now in almost every town/city in the United States. I think that small businesses are very important to our society and community. It is important though for small business owners to ensure that they keep up with the laws and regulations that are set for small businesses so that they can be successful and survive this tough economy and growing nation of large corporations.

INSTANT MBA: Reality TV Star Says Small Business Owners Don't Understand When They're The Problem
I completely agree with this article. I think that most successful business owners are more accepting to change than failing business owners. I guess the thing to take away from this article is: Just because something works today, doesn’t necessarily mean that it will work tomorrow.

INSTANT MBA: Reality TV Star Says Small Business Owners Don't Understand When They're The Problem
I believe that this is one of the most important things that any business owner can practice is to be able to admit when they are wrong. The first step in many cases is to realize that their practices and methods are not working, be able to accept that, and fix the problem. This can make or break any business because if the problem (or the business owner)is not resolved it can eventually lead to the failure of the business. If it is, however, it can turn the business around and give it new life.

Instant MBA: Reality TV Star Says Small Business Owners Don;t Understand When They Are The Problem
When a person starts a small business, that business becomes their whole life. I mean, one must sink time, effort, and bushels of money into a complete and total risk with the hope of striking the proverbial mother load. With such risk comes great responsiblity, and with that responsibility comes pride, and power. Pride and Power mean nothing but trouble in a fluid and difficult place like the business world. For these small business owners, nothing can be harder than trying to change because some one else told you too. It all leads to a huge power vacuum which makes doing anything right very very difficult. Always be fluid, and always be open to others advice.

INSTANT MBA: Reality TV Star Says Small Business Owners Don't Understand When They're The Problem Having your own business requires dedication because you have to invest your own time and money into it. All this time and money spent thinking about the best way to run your business is from your head so you tend to stick with in so when someone comes in trying to tell you that you need to change your ways can really be a hard thing to do. Good business owners know when to open their ears and listen to what people are trying to tell them, especially when their business may not be as profitable.

This is a hard concept. As a business owner, I pride myself in my accomplishments, and admitting I'm wrong about anything in my business is tough. I have yet to come across an issue where I have ridden it down in flames, but I can certainly see where some people have. Some of my peers have ended up losing their licenses because of being set in their ways in the face of new legislation and regulation.

Alt link 15: INSTANT MBA: Think Smaller Than Your Competitors
Being successful not only means growing big, but also being able to take care of the little guy. your individual customers. I believe thats what thinking smaller mean in this context. Companies all to often try to beat the competition by growing big and taking all the market share for themselves. Today's link is saying that by having a product that fills your customers needs and wants and is at a price they are willing to pay for it is how you can beat the competition.

INSTANT MBA: Reality TV Star Says Small Business Owners Don't Understand When They're The Problem
Tabitha Coffey proves a valid point in this article. It is possible for some people to be so up close to a project, that they cannot see the big picture, and a lot of the times the big picture will reveal that the problem is your self. It's important the entrepreneurs realize that the business needs to come first and sometimes pride needs to be set aside to reevaluate things. No one is perfect and believing so could damage your business.

Instant MBA: Reality TV Star Says Small Business Owners Don’t Understand When They’re the Problem
The points in this article are probably one of the hardest to admit to. No one wants to believe that the failure of their business is their own fault. Often rather than admitting that they are doing something wrong, people want to blame others, especially when in a position of authority. It is hard to step back and see the big picture of a situation when you are so closely involved.

INSTANT MBA: Reality TV Star Says Small Business Owners Don't Understand When They're The Problem
Admitting that you are the problem is a human problem, not just a small business owners problem. But being open to change can help to change our ways. Learning how to create a solution and/or being open to change can mean the difference.

INSTANT MBA: Reality TV Star Says Small Business Owners Don't Understand When They're The Problem
Sometimes in businesses the original plan doesn't always work. There are changes within the company and also outside the company that must be addressed. I have seen this show before and it does seem as though the owners are senseless to the wrongdoings that is going on around the shop in which they are in day in and day out. I can see the difficulty in changing your ways that you've stuck with for so long, but sometimes that is all that is left to do to not fail completely. It's hard enough to accept change for some people so it's even harder to realize that things must change from the way that you have designed them originally.

It is very important in this life to never believe that there is nothing else you can learn. Onve you reach this point you should go ahead and accept that you cant get any smarted not because you are the smartest but because you wont let yourself. In the world we live in today things are changing faster than ever. Business strategies have changed entirely since even 2002.

Yes, I agree that many owners don't want to know that they are the reason for the problems. As an owner you should be able to adapt and try for changes to grow the company not maintain where the company is at. I think it's difficult for some to understand they are holding the company back.

INSTANT MBA: Reality TV Star Says Small Business Owners Don't Understand When They're The Problem
If you're on the verge of failure don't let your ego get in the way of success. If you need help, admit it and ask for some. I know I rather figure things out on my own instead of bothering to ask somebody for help, but sometimes I'm just hurting myself. You may not know what the problem is or why you are failing, but asking for help can never hurt. Changing your everyday routine on how you run a business can also improve the success of your business.

This article is very true. This applies to many cases not just business, pride is a very powerful thing. Very prideful people will fight to the death over an issue all the while knowing they are wrong, just to keep their pride. This applies to relationships, addictions, sports, you name it. Wrongful pride in a business is obviously a very costly mistake. Entrepreneurs bu nature thrive in the fact that they are doing things their way, on the their schedule. Asking someone for help, or getting advise from someone else feels a lot like working under someone else again. Business owners need to be mindful of what the true goal is in successful business, making money. Put all other individual beliefs aside.
