INSTANT MBA: Zappos Founder Says You Shouldn't Be Stuck On The Original Idea
Flexibility is key. I think this article is true not only in business, but in personal life too. If you expect something to go a certain way all of the time, you always end up being dissapointed by the outcome, even if it is a really good thing. In Zappos case, if the owner would've gotten frustrated because the original idea ended up having to be toyed with, Zappos might not be the huge, successful company that it is today.

INSTANT MBA: Zappos Founder Says You Shouldn't Be Stuck On The Original Idea
This article explains our society today. For business to be successful today, companies must consistently think outside the box. We live in a rapidly growing and changing society. People are constantly wanting the newest most innovative technology available. My favorite saying is that we live in an instant gratification society. When people want something, they want it to be at their disposal now. We want newer, smarter, more efficient products to be developed more rapidly. With this being the way things are today, companies have to constantly be thinking outside of the box and not focus on what originally made the product stand out.

INSTANT MBA: Zappos Founder Says You Shouldn't 'Be Stuck On The Original Idea'
Being stuck on the original idea can harm a business. Finding a way to expand and create change can be for the best. Technology is a huge factor in this. Constant adaptation to learning how to work technology can provide for a business in the long run. But even as this change happens, remembering your past mistakes and learning from them can help you to recognize helpful or useful changes down the road.

Alt link 11: INSTANT MBA: Just Do It
I for one think if people pursued what they loved we would not have as much innovation that we see today. My reasoning behind it is that necessity fuels innovation. If we all did what we loved, we would be happy where we are and thus have no need to change anything for the better.

INSTANT MBA: Zappos Founder Says You Shouldn't 'Be Stuck On The Original Idea'
It is always wise to keep an open mind, especially in today’s fast paced time. If you stay dormant on one idea, it can manifest into something that is behind its time. Being willing and ready to adapt to change can make the difference between your company and the next. If a company can anticipate change and react to it in an appropriately planned outlay, they will be able to implement it for their own benefit.

INSTANT MBA: Zappos Founder Says You Shouldn't 'Be Stuck On The Original Idea' Being able to change is extremely important today especially with technology growing every day. Staying the same will not get you far since everything around you is changing so if you’re stubborn you will be left behind. Having the ability to change and adapt to new situations is a plus in the business world because it shows that you are versatile and willing to take on new challenges. Change can be good and bad, for example, a business can be doing great selling a certain product but if another business starts to make profit by selling something else, it may not be the best idea to change what you do to try and keep up with them. Sometimes staying with what you know is the best thing.

This article had many re-occurring theme. One is to learn from your mistakes. This will make your business better and you a better leader. The next is to adapt to changes with the growth in technology. Technology has brought many new aspects to the business field and your company may have to adapt and make changes to keep up with the trend or meet the need of your customers. Sometimes an unexpected change can make your business better than it was before and help your business grow.

INSTANT MBA: Zappos Founder Says You Shouldn't 'Be Stuck On The Original Idea'
The business market is forever changing due to the economy, the market demand, culture changes etc. I can see how it's very important that a business owner learn to be adaptable to these changes if they want to survive. You may have to make some tough changes, such as modifying a product or changing up the way you do business but if you want to keep growing your business than you need to be able to change things to fit what's in demand and what fits best in the market at the time. With being adaptable, it is also important that you ensure your business's mission and vision does not change.

One thing that you must be able to do in this world of business is change and be able to adapt to new things. If we examine the last 100 years of American history we can see that the one thing that has helped us grow as a nation is how we are always changing and willing to take new ideas into effect. Always changing always growing always learning. becoming stagnant is one of the worst thing you can do to yourself

Instant MBA: Zappos Founder Says You Shouldn't Be "Stuck on Original Idea."
Todays world moves so fast, its truly unbelievable. No where is this more true than in the business world. I mean, what is normal practice today may be outdated tomorrow, and what may be a dream today may be normal practice tomorrow. In this ever changing world, being stagnant or stuck in a rut will kill you faster than a cholesterol filled artery. I saw a good example of this. The restaurant i worked at was a family owned one location restaurant. They did their time cards manually, you walked in and punched the clock with an old time card puncher. this was part of the owners down home old fashioned approach to cooking and serving. He was very set in this. It took almost a year and dozens of mistakes in the new restaurants he opened and the new employees he hired before he finally changed his mind and stepped up and bought the technology needed to jump into the new age card puncher.

INSTANT MBA: Zappos Founder Says You Shouldn't Be Stuck on the Original Idea
Change is inevitable in both life and business. Willingness change in business is crucial to survival. Technology changes, consumer demands change, and as said in the article things never turn out completely as planned. When you are dealing with consumers you cannot always anticipate what they will want or need and you have to be willing to adjust your product to fit their needs.

INSTANT MBA: Zappos Founder Says You Shouldn't 'Be Stuck On The Original Idea'
Everyday in life, everyone experiences change. It is natural to have change in almost all aspects of life as well, and especially change in business. Like mentioned in the article, business rely on demands of other people to grow as a company so if that changes at all then the outcome of your business plan will definitely take a similar route. It must me known to adapt to this when in business because it is uncontrollable and unforeseen. You can't stop it or expect it; you must just go along with it and have a plan to address it.

Adapting to change is very important today. Technology is growing and with that comes changes, either big or small. I always say if you aren't able to embrace changes then you aren't growing and learning new things. A change from the original plan can be good or bad but it's a learning experience and with that comes more possibilities.

I agree with this article. You either change with the times or get left behind. Some age old products still perform well in the markets however the way of selling and marketing the products changes all the time. Some companies have too much pride in the way they do business and can get set in their ways. But the fact of the matter, those are the companies that get left behind. As consumers tastes change, you must be one step ahead or the business opportunity will get taken out from under you.

INSTANT MBA: Zappos Founder Says You Shouldn't 'Be Stuck On The Original Idea'
Things are constantly changing. What works today may not work tomorrow. In order to be successful you must be able to adapt to change. Don't ever get stuck doing the same thing over and over because change is sometimes a good thing. If you have been doing something that has been a success for a while but suddenly isn't a success anymore, change may be needed.
