INSTANT MBA: Zappos Founder Says You Shouldn't Be Stuck On The Original Idea
Change is something that is inevitable, whether it be in business or in your everyday life. I agree with this article when it says that you should not be stuck on the original idea. Technology is constantly changing, and there are always new threats that are entering the workforce. If you are stuck on your original idea and not open to changing or adapting, it can lead to failure. Others will see what you are doing wrong, and change their business so it out does yours. Change is something that each business owner or manager needs to be open to, and also be willing to accept.By accepting change, your business becomes limitless and by straying away from the original idea you can develop your vision much further than ever anticipated.

Instant MBA: Zappos founder says you shouldn’t ‘be stuck on the original idea’
It is very important to know, especially in the business field, that change is the only thing in life that constant. Being able to adapt to change willingly seems to be a problem in this century. The article mentions that “...the most important thing in business and in life in general, is not to be stuck on the original idea...”, and I couldn’t have said it better myself. Do not be afraid of change, but rather embrace it the best way you know how to. In the beginning, change may seem like a bad idea because of the fear of failing or comfort zone relations, but it really isn’t. From past experiences, I can honestly say that change was and still is the best thing that has ever happened, in any given situation. It’s refreshing to look at some stuff in a different perspective, instead of always repeating a redundant process. Change is inevitable, so whether we like it or not, change is going to come. The question that remains is: Are we willing to prepare ourselves for change?

INSTANT MBA: Just Do It People need to love what they do, we spend most of our time at work so you need to enjoy it! At some point in time, a job will be a stepping stone to the next chapter of your life. Try to find something that makes you happy and go for it. Happiness is not always about money, it what makes you happy. Doing something you love, is so much more than how much you get paid. Money is important, but should not be why you do it!

INSTANT MBA: Zappos Founder Says You Shouldn't 'Be Stuck On The Original Idea'
It's crucial that companies learn to adapt to the environment they operate in order to survive. Consumers' tastes and preferences can change as fast as technology, and firms should be able to adjust their way of doing business whenever it is required. Recently, we have witnessed how businesses have failed because of their inability to cope with changes in today's market. Nowadays, competition is fierce in almost every industry, so it is essential that every company employs a good marketing strategy that is able to adapt to the environment.

INSTANT MBA: Zappos Founder Says You Shouldn't Be Stuck On The Original Idea
In our current fast-paced business environment an organization must be willing and ready to adapt to customer demands. With the current global environment and never ending changes many organizations will find themselves needing to adapt routinely to the needs of their customers in order to stay competitive. If one company fails to respond to the needs of the customers, then the competition will respond and take market share.

Change is the only constant in the business world. I can attest to this personally. My original goal was to provide my services at Bass Pro Shops exclusively. I then expanded to the Killian Police Department Firearms Training Center for a grand total of three classes before range access was revoked for all law enforcement. Instead of using it as an excuse to allow myself lower revenue, I adapted, and opened a new product that will have its pilot program Jul 27. I have high hopes that it will become my flagship product and my competitive advantage in an Extremely competitive field. Change and adversity made my opportunity possible.

INSTANT MBA: Zappos Founder Says You Shouldn't 'Be Stuck On The Original Idea'
Always be prepared for things to change, and always be prepared for the worst. Change is inevitable, and everyone who runs a major business must take proper steps and a total revamp of original ideas. When the business grows, we always have to step back and see what needs to change to keep up with the market and with the customers we have.

INSTANT MBA: Zappos Founder Says You Shouldn't Be Stuck On The Original Idea
I think this article chose a great topic to focus on because the only thing that is constant in business is change. Markets, technology, expectations, inflation, etc. are continuously changing. In my management class last semester the professor lectured about being flexible and being able to adapt to change. She explained that as a manager you should change things up for your employees so they became use to change, something as simple as assigning a different time for lunch will break up the monotony that can happen and will prepare them for bigger changes to come.

Adapting to change is just another key to running a successful business. If you don't adapt, chances are you will not stay in business very long. Technology has changed the world of business vastly over the last decade and continues at a fast pace today. If you continue to use outdated technology, you will be surpassed by your competitors, and eventually put out of business. Adapting is a way of life. You will have to adapt to different things in every aspect of your life.

INSTANT MBA: Zappos Founder Says You Shouldn't 'Be Stuck On The Original Idea'
A business cannot sustain success if it doesn't change in some way. Being able to adapt is probably one of the most important things to do in our society. We live in a fast paced world that is always changing (for either the better or the worse). Companies have always been changing but they're doing it even faster now so they can get whatever upper hand in the industry they can. In the end, it's always gonna be about the money and that's the main reason why business change and adapt.

INSTANT MBA: Zappos Founder Says You Shouldn't 'Be Stuck On The Original Idea'
Nice article. It seems like it should be common sense that things change, but it seems like certain businesses get stuck in their ways all too often. While it is great to have a strong and stable mission statement, that doesn’t necessarily mean that you can’t change if need be. However I can appreciate that it is probably a lot easier said than done.

INSTANT MBA: Zappos Founder Says You Shouldn't Be Stuck On The Original Idea
I believe that it is important for any business to be responsive to change. Raising Canes was at first a very small and slow expanding company, taking about fifteen years to reach 100 locations. But in the following two years, the company nearly doubled in size. What this meant was lots of changes for the company. New positions were added, many people were promoted, and our standards became even higher. Had we tried to continue operating exactly the same way and not being responsive to the change of a rapid expansion, our company probably would not have been able to survive. But because we took action and tweaked our ways of thinking and operating, we are still growing and becoming even more successful.
