Running a business takes a lot of time and man power, and doing it alone can be very challenging. When you go at it by yourself I think that you miss the full potential of what your business could be because you can only have so many ideas. When you bring someone else on board it expands your ideas and knowledge that much more! Even if it is just a part time worker or someone who is below you or even a spouse, sharing your ideas with another is a great idea. It allow for brainstorming and someone who can being another aspect to your business.

Even if you are the top manager in your organization, you should look to the ideas of anyone and everyone below you. If you make all decisions without the input of anyone else, you truly limit your organization and diminish its potential growth. One person's ideas is not enough when the possibilities for an organization are endless. It is best to look to your peers and even subordinates for advice, ideas, and feedback.

Good leaders do not lead by themselves. Leaders know that everything they do will be done better with the help of the employees. If you want to be a good leader then you have to make sure that you are helping your employees as well as asking for their feedback. Good leaders need to make sure that their employees know they are an important part of the business. If you are a leader then it is probably a good idea to not lead by yourself.

Running a business is a big undertaking. It's a lot of stress and it's easier if you have someone there to share that stress with. Someone to help come up with ideas, to help problem solve. Someone who cares as much about the business as you do. It is possible to run a business alone but if you want to grow your business and be truly successful, it's better to take on a partner to share the experience with.

I think this article discusses a very valuable point that many managers need to take into consideration in relation to sharing leadership. Butting-heads with other managers is counterproductive and needs to be kept to a minimum. It is important to excel where in your field and let colleagues excel in theirs.

This really hits home with me because I watched my Uncle go form absolute authority, with a floundering business, to having three co-leaders and being hugely successful, all in half a decade. When I started working for him a few years back, he made all the decisions in his business. He handled employment, employees, advertisements, protocols, meetings, everything. And he wasn't that great a multi-tasker, and it was showing in the most obvious way: employment. He was more and more frequently hiring unqualified or lazy or just plain stupid people to work for him because he didn't ask for anyone's opinion. Then, he would not listen to me and my cousins who worked directly with these morons on the floor when we told him they weren't gonna cut it. It was really starting to show in productivity. Then, he became too overwhelmed finally, and let my other Uncle do the hiring and general floor management, and my Aunt to handle the payroll, accounts, ordering, and marketing, while he just acted as a CEO type of position. Lo and behold, the business took right back off. My second Uncle hired three really really good people, with input from me and the remaining crew, my Aunt has helped the business grow and become more profitable, and my Uncle is a lot calmer and easier to talk to now that he is not so busy and stressed.

I agree with the article, that good leaders realize that they are not able to truly push a company forward by themselves. Employees should have their voices heard as well, and if good information is provided, it can be used for a decision. But the one thing that employees need to realize is that there is one person or group that will make the ultimate decision, and that will be the management.

A common flaw in many leadership stories is going solo because the success of the company. I really agree that good leaders posses humility and confidence at the same time. Can listen to all employees while collaborating them. To me this defines a strong leader. Again communication is key here.

It's a big undertaking when being a leader so to do it solo would be even harder. Great leaders will have a surrounding of those alike all around them. Therefore, many understand the importance of not having it all rely on them. I have noticed that many of the successful companies now a days have multiple leaders heading them up.

Nobody can, or should, lead a business on their own, and they either need a partner or team to get the job done correctly. The article goes over three ways in whcih to share your power, including sharing your authority, create collaboration, and accept constructive criticism and listen to their ideas. Having someone else to share your power with is vital in today's businesses.

I have never read anything on co-leadership. Obviously if you have a partner you will need to work together and figure out what you. The whole point of having a partner though is having someone who shares the same dream. If not then it’s just going to be conflicting.

No one person can have all of the knowledge and answers. As a leader it is important to know when you should involve others and who on your team should be involved.
