I agree that dealing with needy people can feel overwhelming from my point of view. Even when dealing with people under you or people who you are training. At on point it is nice not to be needed for all the little things. But the old saying goes that the day they don’t need you is the day you are out of a job.

This article makes sense in the fact that busy business people don’t always have time to answer little questions or deal with unimportant issues. This makes me want to think a little bit harder and maybe wait for better moments to ask busy guys in my office unimportant things to them. This article also will help me schedule my in office tasks as what is completely urgent and what can wait a few days or weeks even if it has been on my desk for a while.

INSIDE MBA: In a Fast-Paced World, Some Things Can Wait
When running a business the biggest part of success is finding your priorities an the things that can be held off until given time to do so. If you run your company constantly trying to solve every single tiny problem could drive you crazy! Also, some things if left alone will end up fixing on their own without anything being done about it. Time is a problem in every business and will always be a problem because you will never have enough time to do every single thing on your own. Focus on the main problems, give the structural problems to other management positions, and then figure out the smaller problems later when there is more time.

INSTANT MBA: In A Fast-Paced World, Some Things Can Wait
When working in an enviorment for a while you can learn what to expect. Clients call with questions at the worst times and most questions are routine; they are expected. When running a business, one can get overwhelmed with all the responsibilities. Preparing a "Frequently Asked Question form" is a great way for the client to be informed and not clutter your life with unnecessary phone calls and emails.

Instant MBA: In a Fast- Paced World, Some Things Can Wait I think in any business that it is important to have a page on your website on a general email sent to clients answering all the general question that you know will be asked. It’s important not to tie yourself down with constant repetitive emails. It will eventually get boring and tiresome which will make you miss the more important emails. We do live in a country where technology is an everyday use and its not just one type of device but two or three. People expect to get instant response because they send a quick response. Also sometimes people do get caught up in other things that are right in front of them that they tend to forget to look at texts or emails.

INSTANT MBA: In A Fast-Paced World, Some Things Can Wait
Knowing what can wait and can't wait is a great quality to have. In the business world you could get hit with 100's of questions a day but know what is most important is a necessity. Putting your more important clients or problems first will help for a smoother business. Not everyone knows how to do this properly including myself. I need to work on my prioritizing skill a little more and find faster and more effective ways of managing my time.

INSTANT MBA: “In a Fast-Paced World, Some Things Can Wait.”
It is prevalent to put things in an order of importance. Sometimes getting back to a personal email about prices, while important, is not as important as getting back to a potential large buyer. It may be easier to establish a form or template for customers to fill out with some basic needs already clearly established. The will help with the speed of response.

INSTANT MBA: In A Fast-Paced World, Some Things Can Wait
In this link Haag says that some things can wait when it comes down to running a business. If people are asking the same questions and the matter is take of then it can wait while you take care of more pressing matters. I think she is saying you do not want to stress yourself with every little matter. That can maybe lead to problems at work and other things. It is most important to take time with some things.

INSTANT MBA: In A Fast-Paced World, Some Things Can Wait
I totally agree with this article. With all the enhancements in technology and social networking, too many people want immediate gratification, and have trouble when this urgency isn't met. I work as a recruiter and admission counselor for the college, and most students who email or contact me want an answer immediately. Many of them also feel that if they submit a document it should be processed immediately. They fail to remember that actual human-beings are processing these documents and requests and that human-beings are not machines. During very busy periods in our office, I can sometimes respond to over 100 emails a day. I cringe when I see an email from a student, and then see another from the same student an hour later reading 'second request' or 'did you get my email earlier?'. Really?! Sometimes students just have no clue how much work someone has, and they think they are the only person on the earth needing an answer about something. Just like in this article, sometimes I do wait until the next day to get back to students, just so they realize sending me a 'text-like' email from their smartphone that I can hardly even decipher does not entitle them to an immediate response. Sometimes, it is important to stop and take a little break every once in a while.

Instant MBA: In A Fast-Paced World, Some Things Can Wait
Prioritizing communications and tasks is important for a busy workplace. For sanity and effectiveness you must be able to give something your best, and to do that sometimes means putting it off. Being proactive, as the article states, is a great way to keep things from getting too out of hand. The frequently-asked-questions form is a great idea to keep problems from happening in the first place, saving yourself and your clients unnecessary headaches. I do slightly disagree with the idea to wait a day or two to answer someone to "give it a little break". I think it's important to at least recognize someone, even if it is just to say that it will be a day or two before you get back to them.

Because of the technology advances we have today the majority of people expect rapid responses for their questions asked. However, like Haag states, in a fast-paced world businessmen have to distinguish between what needs immediate attention or what can wait. I can agree with the fact that sometimes when you are deep into work you don't always have time to respond to everyone's questions. I also like the idea of creating a FAQ form to deal with any questions you anticipate issues with. This way you can weed out the little problems and leave more time for any main priorities.

It does become very stressful when one feels that they are being rushed and people are expecting things from them the second they ask. I, as well as plenty of others, can relate to this post while working in the service industry. When there is a rush at a service business and several customers arrive at once, all wanting to be first to be waited on, things do get tough. It's a struggle to decide who you go to first. The first paragraph of this article seems to be exactly how I react in these situations. Although you can not change the way others act towards you and how needy they may get, one thing I have learned is not to act that way to others. When you see someone is busy or has a lot on their hands, it would be a great relief on them to ask only what is really important and decide which things can wait.

INSTANT MBA: In A Fast-Paced World, Some Things Can Wait
Although this advice may work for some, I do not agree with it at all. I feel like in business, no matter how busy you get, your customers should never be the ones to suffer. I do understand that people get busy and things can get so hectic at work, however, there are other ways to help reduce the workload. Your customers should be the highest priority of a business and the time spent with them should never be reduced. It means more to be able to talk to someone that can give you one correct answer instead of a list of previously asked questions or procedures that are too vague and do not even answer the customers' questions. Customers are what keeps a business afloat and/or successful and if you cannot even take the time to help them and answer their questions then your business will eventually suffer.

In A Fast-Paced World, Some Things Can Wait Patience is a virtue; I always think of that when I realize I can't do everything at once. Everything has their time, it is just a matter of prioritizing them. I am guilty myself of not prioritizing. There comes a time that we get so overwhelmed and frustrated when we want to respond to ALL the emails, messages, mail, etc. We need to take a step back and collaborate ourselves to see what comes first. In America I see that time is money. Everywhere I turn, it is always about time and how one will do anything in their power to make whatever is needed to be done, happen. In my country, in most Spanish countries, time is something that is laid back;our value of time is not as high as the United States. Simply put, we can't be like Hermine from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban when she is at two places at once to have "time".
